Just curious - has anyone that have experienced having several past lives had like the same occupation or a similar occupation in several of them? Like one has either been attracted to it or circumstances has done it so you end up with the same profession? I'm just thinking how some people can be so good at what they do? Is it perhaps because they've worked with it before? And other talents that one might have in this life, but has no idea how perhaps, that has been inherit from a previous life?

Ever since I was a child at school and we one day were asked to shoot with a gun I apparently was so good at it that the teacher stopped and they took out the target print for everyone to see - told me I was the best at it. I just thought it was luck. It was my first time to ever try something like that. When I told this to my dad he bought a gun for me and when he saw me shoot he too acted all impressed. And so it went on. Then in one of my experienced past lives I was a form of soldier or knight and it was simply my occupation to know how to aim right with a gun or bow.
Anyone else who has had something similar happen to them?

Some believed Mozart must have been a musician/composer in a past life. However, others claimed he was a very small man who could bd passed off as a child when he was a teenager. Nonetheless, it could still be said that even if he were a teen when first brought to public attention his capability was so astounding that he might still have been in music in a pl.

I would bet my bottom dollar that there are some just on this forum who have remained in the same trade or profession for at least two lives.

None of my regressed lives had inherited characteristics. The only connections I've identified are karmic: some attitude, comportment, or situation from a life caused in another one a situation to be experienced, a life lesson. I can't say that it was a punishment / reward connection; it was more like taking the other side of a given situation I've experienced.

As I subscribe to the idea that our incarnations don't happen in a physical time succession, it means that it can't be said which situation caused which. A situation you experience in your current life, even your current life lesson, may actually be balanced with (not using "caused by") a situation form a future life (from physical time perspective), or from a past life.

Much of our behavior is hereditary, and instinctual. It is more likely to inherit something from your parents and their bloodlines than from your other incarnations.

I would certainly go along with that, as an 'as well as' possibility. It could be that all are possible at different times.
 
I certainly have experienced this. All of my past lifetimes I have discovered up to this point have contained some element of going to war, usually being a leader. While it was a tempting option to go into the military in this life, I decided I had not found a moral reason to do so.

Still, since childhood I have had some notable oddities in this area. I am a decent strategist, I instinctively know more about armed combat than someone who has never studied it should (to the extent where I can and do point out subtle mistakes and the mood of someone demonstrating swordplay), and I started reading war chronicles and heroic literature for fun at a young age. None of these are traits that I share with my parents (in fact, they rather discouraged these traits). I had no idea why I am the way that I am until past life work found me.

In one of my past lives, I was considered a bit of a military prodigy. I was younger than most of my peers, received only a fraction of the training expected for all professional soldiers at the time (an embarrassingly small amount for someone of my status), and yet, I still managed a strong winning streak against impossible odds and personal fame lasting far beyond my death. I do not doubt that this was mostly due to the fact that I had done it so many times before.

Ah, thus your tag 'Spirit Sword'. I don't doubt it. I expect that strong enough abilities and interests can and do sometimes continue to future lives even against genetics. Maybe not always, but sometimes.
Perhaps not joining the military this time is a turning point for you, and your spirit is letting that go in preparation for making time to do something else.
Can I ask what you do for living now? If it's what you most would have wanted to do? Or if there is or was an ambition that maybe you haven't been able to attain - yet?

Angie, I do believe that this is meant to be a transition lifetime for me, though we shall see if I can maintain this transition. I have a strong sense of justice and a desire to rebel to fix the smallest of slights, so this era is very tempting to me.

Right now, I am just a paper-pusher, but I would like to get into the writing business at one point. I think it would be a poetic transition from being the subject of stories to the one writing them.

Interesting story spirit. We seem to have a lot in common. As a child all I was interested in was military history. It didn’t matter what time period. I was interested in Ancient Greece and Rome all the way up to the Korean War. Couldn’t get enough. Played board games and video game battle sims. Trying to see if I could have “corrected” the outcome . Didn’t realize how odd I was until I had my own children. My heroes were Napoleon, Julius Caesar, Alexander the Great, Rommel, MacAuthur, etc. For entertainment I liked to read accounts of battles, especially the American Civil War. I was like this from Kindergarten to middle school. I was the youngest person at the antique shows with my parents buying swords, helmets, and other memorabilia with my Christmas and birthday money.

I thought about West Point in this life, but for various reasons decided to do other things. It has a strong pull for me. I have had a couple of “past life” dreams concerning different lives fighting in battle, and I have a birthmark that I suspect was caused by a mortal wound in a life that I have not dreamed about but had a connection reading about. He was killed in a unique way, but they exaggerated the location of the wound.

My mother said as a child I made her believe in reincarnation. I told her in kindergarten going to school, “ I don’t know why I have to do all this stupid school stuff, when I turn 18 I will be drafted and die in a war.” So I think that is a calling.

She also told me when I was very little. Like two or three years old, I was pretending to put stuff in her hands, and I told her that I used to work in a hospital. I am in medicine now. That would make at least 2 lives doing that and at least 3 doing the other. I know most people disagree with this thinking on here, But I have heard that fighters turn into healers as they start to wrap up things.
 
I've been involved in conflict in every life that I remember. Yet even in conflict I've experienced extremes, victory and defeat, conqueror and conquered, King and rebel. I've commanded many men and I've been undermanned. I've fought for glory, for freedom and for love etc.

It seems to me that my conflicted nature, an aggressive soul seeking peace, meant that I had to experience all aspects of conflict before I realised that the conflict was in my own self.

I made a different decision in my current life and as a result I have plenty of time to reflect. Like Spirit Sword this seems to be a transition life for me.

My conflict addled lives still contain different perspectives though.

Interesting. I have never heard that, though I suppose it makes sense. In my case, this cannot happen though. After all those years of killing, I have ironically developed a squeamishness around many kinds of injuries, both internal and external. I do not know if this is just a long-term effect of all of the carnage or if this trait was purposefully selected to make me think twice about going back.

Actually, this makes perfect sense to me.
Like I believe that some are experiencing the same patterns from different viewpoints and can "play" different "roles". And that one can turn a trait into the polar opposite to see the other side and learn from it.
