Hi. There is another thread asking if any of us draw or paint, but it does not really outright ask for posts as instances of this. So, I am presenting this Thread where folks may feel free to share some of what they do with lines, colors and words ;) .

Hi, thank you that is a wonderful idea : ) I always enjoy the work of others, so yes, please share (I'm below average in painting, I leave that up to my husband and daughter instead who are both great at it, but never seem to think so themselves).

Thanks for sharing, Jaimie. ( Your middle name isn't Lynn is it? I know two 'Jamie Lynns' : ) Here's a painting of the lady who sells vegetables around here:
Nice portrait David.
Thanks a lot, Cloud! I made that in about 1969- it's my brother back then. They put it into our high school yearbook.

Hoping to encourage further sharing here, this time with words, I will enter a little poem I wrote one night as an alternative to suicide, way back in my Fine Arts school, 1970. It is me talking myself out of suicide:

You say you've paid the price of life
And find it incomplete;
You say you'd like to take it back:
Well, show me your receipt.

Thanks that picture is also very good, it does not only look good but the emotion is really captured in it : ) No, my real name is not Jamie Lynn, just Jaimie will do :)

Thanks Jaimie! I don't think I could handle a third Jaimie Lynn! ;) One is the daughter of my (departed) wife and one is the daughter of a third grade 3 friend who was my very first date in the late 1950's.

in every moment i'm seeking opportunity
to exist outside myself
from worry over an uncertain future
or fear from a long lost past
breath is my greatest drug
to be here and now
"there is no trial that does not reveal a great truth."

I am a fan of William Blake and one phrase from Songs of Innocence stuck with me:
I am you and you are me
Mutual love is divine.

for a moment

come with me
to a place nobody sees
but everyone knows
where you lay looking out towards the sun
through the leaves of the tree's, alone
a gentle breeze and a hallowed space
it's the perfect embrace
but you, you're left longing, hoping
wanting someone who can taste the way i've made you feel
here in this space with no names
and so many faces race through your mind
those hearts who've sparked this, a twinkling in time
come now, be still, breathe
is it sublime? it it surreal? but perfectly whole
dissolution and infinite bliss as i gently press
upon your sun kissed lips, caress your body and spine
until there's no body left
but this gentle breeze
the sound of these leaves
you and i, always, drifting
with nothing to say
left with a heart of knowing

I wanted to draw something for some of the teachers at my old high school but I changed my mind at the last minute.
This is one of drawings of a mole and Morty.IMG_20210523_190532.jpg

I'm a non-traditionalist, forever-novice doodle enthusiast. My preferred style is simple, messy or nonsensical. :D
