Is it possible to dream about an OBE from an other life?

Is there any chance that one can dream about an astral projection/OBE from an other life? I've never tried to do astral projection in my current life and for years I haven't fully known what exactly it means (to be honest it only became clear to me after I read Eowyn's guide here about the whole method and experience in details).
As I was reading those posts, I recalled a dream I wrote down some years ago. I remember I had it one day before I had my one and only visit at a Buddhist stupa. I add it because my excitement about the visit might had a trigger effect back then.

The dream was about some kind of regression: I was regressed while I was lying on a bed or bench, surrounded by many people. During the regression I even had out of body experience. I was floating above myself, I faced my physical body with my astral body and the distance between the two bodies were around 50 cm/1,7 foot (estimated distance, based on the way I saw my lying body). My physical body (which was a female's body) looked a bit different, but I knew that the person was "me". Later I joined my physical body and when I eventually woke up, I was confused and scared and couldn't recall what exactly had happened to me during the whole regression. The unknown people around me told me that while they were watching me on the bed, at one point I confessed I was some kind of Chinese taskmaster who overlooked the constructions of the Great Wall of China. And they added that I even started to talk in an insanely weird sounding language what they believed to be ancient Chinese.
In addition to these, I remember that it was a very long and detailed dream. And that I could saw that Chinese past self for a split second: he wore clothes in very light green-yellowish color and a peaked helmet or cap in the same color. After the dream, I tried to researh this look with little luck, but I don't know too much about Chinese culture, or the construction of the Great Wall in general.

Meanwhile I don't feel emotionally attached to China, there was one thing I remember: when I was playing with strategic PC games as a kid, the most important to me was to build stone walls around the settlements and to beat the enemy at the walls if possible. I remember my friends who played with the same games never cared for the walls as much as I did.

Can it be something past life related? Or is it not possible to have such complex dreams about both past life recalling in an other life and an astral projection? This dream confuses me ever since...

Wonderful dream. Really interesting.
And yes, it happened to me once, in a regressive state (at home, using a guided meditation). The memories that came up were troublesome for my former self and suddenly I had a vision of floating above the trees, floating above the Earth (so beautiful to experience) and I even went further away into Space. I assumed I had been given some drugs.
On another occasion, a spontaneous regression, I relived the fear of being locked up in a dungeon and I almost reenacted the leaving of my body just before the torture session was about to begin. I can only recall memories before and after, so I guess I dissociated from my body in that past.

Hi, thank you for sharing this, I find it also interesting . I think it could have been a past life memory where you had an OBE :)

I have experienced being a girlfriend of someone in the 1950's and when he had taken me to his horse, as we stood opposite sides to it I had a flashback of a knight looking man and his horse, and I was someone else too, and then I was shot out of it (the flashback). This is also how it is in this life of mine, only one to few seconds it lasts and then I am out of it. At the time being I think past life me was in this new romance with him which meant I had butterflies and could not sleep and perhaps it was the lack of sleep that also helped me to slip into this flashback.

In another past life from around the 1880's I was a female patient who was treated by a psychiatrist, he use to snap his finger and a kind of pendulum, well not pendulum, I have forgotten the name for it, but anyways, something else was used. It is so weird when I at first wake up at his office, as her, to then wake up seconds later as myself in my bed. I for some reason always feel much more safe when I listen to a male voice to try to regress me, and I think it is all this fault because he seemed to have been someone who was safe and kind to past life me. I hope no female take offense. Now that I have written it I realize how silly it is, but still it is this way with me...

It could only be natural that you have searched for the same answers you do in this life in your past life and that your search led you to this point in your past life :)

I've not had a regression of that sort, but it is possible that the OBE you describe didn't happen in the past life, it happened during the regression, i.e. during this lifetime. It was a means of travelling not simply through space, but through time as well.

Thank you fireflydancing, that was very informative and interesting! So it's possible to relive an OBE from an other life. Well, I can't be 100% sure that my dream showed a real event, but like some of my PL related dreams, it felt somehow different from my average daily dreams.

It was many years ago, during my childhood, when I saw a movie about a Japanese or Chinese soldier who went through a torture, but he said that with his willpower he can separate his soul from his body in order to feel no pain. Back then I had no idea what he meant, but it looks like some people had the ability to step out of their bodies while being tortured.

Those were some other interesting stories Jaimie, thanks! This whole phenomenon is a bit like the "movie in a movie" effect, it looks like. I never would have guessed we can travel this much in one scene, through more than one life. Even one past life memory-fragment can be hard to gather, and most people don't even remember their past lives, so it's very impressive when someone is able to "travel" even more. :)

When you mentioned the psychiatrist, I always wondered how the so-called hypnosis works on people. The one so often showed in movies, with the pendulum and the finger snap. Since I have problems with the whole regression thing, I don't get how this easy looking trick can work. I'm sure there are tons of books about it, I'm just wondering. :) Oh and don't worry, I also find male voices better for relaxation, because they're usually deeper. A high pitched girly noise is not the best when I want my mind to smoothen, haha.

Back to my dream, what I found interesting too that it looked like a planned event, people were actually observing me around a bed which was in a middle of a room. I'm not sure if there was any era when things like past life regression or astral projection was a subject to study. I know the Ouija board, exorcism and a few more have been around for a long time, but a group of people watching somebody to recall a past life? I don't know. The place itself where the event happened was in a commodious house or palace, during the night. It looked like people didn't want to beat or lock me up in the end, so I don't think it was in a psychiatric hospital. Sometimes I wonder if activities like this was something rich and bored people liked to "play" in their palaces, long time ago...

Thanks for your thought Speedwell! It looks like leaving the physical body can result in things hard to answer, especially if the person (like me) is not very experienced with OBEs. Long time ago I thought if I have a dream in the space, that automatically means I experienced astral projection and everything I saw there was real.

Hi scavanger, than you for thinking that. Can you remember during what time era these people were watching you, what it looked like in the surroundings ? For example 1800th century or so ? Little things that might help you on your way to figure out what this could have been ? Please, tell us if you see or find anything :) There are some on this forum that have knowledge of things I have not known so when I have asked on this forum they have been of great help.

Hi Jaimie! That's a good question! Because half the dream I saw my body from the outside, floating over it, or I was in a scared and confused mental state. In that situation I could not pay too much attention on people's clothes, unfortunately. But they looked either European or American. Just the whole place and their looks gave me this impression, there weren't anything "exotic" about the place or the people. And no crazy rococo clothes, or those very characteristic medieval ones either. I would say, it gave me 19th century vibes, but that's all I can add. The fact that these people knew about the Great Wall of China (they didn't look surprised that such a thing existed when I mentioned in the regression), can be a bit of a clue, but I don't know when Europeans learned about that construction and when it became part of the common people's knowledge.
