Hi,

I have been reading this forum for a few days now and I think this is where should post my questions.

I have two children, both girls, one is 13 (14 in about 7 days) the other just turned 10. I have a very good friend who is also a child therapist that has told me both of my kids are Indigo Kids- I am only vaguely aware of what that means and I haven't done much research yet. But I talked to her about some of these things to make sure my kids didn't need therapy. She said nope their fine, their just Indigo kids...

The reason I am posting here is I guess to validate what I feel like is going on as well as to ask you to point me in the direction of good reading material so that I don't stifle the spirituality out of my kids.

My 13 year old has always been very different from most kids. From the time she was born she has always had this way of wisdom about her. She started talking at 8 months old, has never been one to play with toys, is highly intelligent and doesn't really relate well to kids her own age but relates well to older people. Here's the part/parts I am curious about. She see's what she calls lights around people. If we are in a store she will talk about complete strangers or people we are meeting for the first time she'll say "Oh I like so and so they have a good light around them" Or "Mom that person over there makes my skin crawl they have a bad dark light around them..." These dark lights seem to disturb her greatly almost as if they scare her. Is she seeing what I am guessing would be Aura's? ( again something I don't know anything about.)

She has been scared of the dark her whole life and still at 13 sleeps with a night light. She says she see's things at night but she hasn't really described these things and I haven't pushed her on it. She talks about very realistic dreams of deceased relatives and pets. Animals, babies and small children flock to her and love her. Once when she was 4 years old she said to me "Mom, why does it feel different when dad kisses me goodnight than it does when Jesus kisses me goodnight?" This wouldn't be so shocking except at that point she had never even been to church..Ever.

Now for my 10 year old. She has always made comments like "When I was a boy I used to do this or that." She came to me when she was 7 and she said "Mom when you die you come back again as someone else"
She is extremely drawn to all things Native American and also to rocks (she has fascination with rocks that could almost be obsessive??) She is extremely talented with anything Artsy and has been choreographing dances since she was about 4 years old. She also draws extremely well. She plays well with other kids when she's around them but prefers to play alone lots of the time.
Oh and her birthmark (which I am writing about only because I have read so many post here regarding them and it may be relavent) She has a very large oval shaped dark birthmark on her wrist...

Well sorry this was so long although I could say much more. I look forward to your opinions.

Have a great day!

openmindedmom,

Welcome to the Forum. I am sure that you will find a lot of like-minded people here.

It sounds like you have two children who are bringing over skills from previous lifetimes. Your 13-year-old definitely seems to have brought some psychic ability with her. Are you interested in furthering her psychic abilities? The first thing that comes to mind is finding an excellent psychic in your area. (A very difficult thing to do in some parts of the world, but not impossible.) An excellent psychic could work with her and see how high her potential could go. (It sounds like a lot of fun.)

As far as your 10-year-old, she is definitely in touch with previous lives. I think the thing to do with her is have her tell stories that she remembers and recond them on a tape recorder (or write them out). Just do not push it. Whenever she come up with something from a previous life, just say, "Oh? tell me more...."

The main thing is to give them a positive and happy environment to explore these things. There is no need for you to be judgemental about these things at all. By judgemental, I mean to force them into telling things, demanding that they become psychic, that sort of thing. That can be just as bad as discouraging them and telling them that this all a bunch of nonsense. Just go with the flow, have fun with it, and make sure that they are having fun with it too.

Thanks for the info

I hope this doesn't post twice. I started a reply but somehow x'd out of if before I posted it.

Thanks for the replies and Links, I will follow up on these links completely. After reading up this morning on Indigo kids I don't think that is a "title" that fits my kids. I really hate the idea of giving my kids a label anyway... But they don't have what could be described as the behavioral problems associated with Indigo kids. I did however find a web page that discussed Indigo kids but did not mention the behavior problems..

I am not sure that a good psychic would be available in our area. We live in the Bible Belt if you will. (Not that I mean any disrespect, I just mean that most folks around here are not really open to these types of things). But I do feel like my oldes daughter has some sort of gift? She has done things like telling me to answer the phone before it even rings then suddenly it rings. Or she will say so and so is calling and it will be them! (She doesn't do this everytime or even everyday but she has done it) Its this whole thing of seeing lights around people that I don't understand and I don't want to give her a complex about it but rather I would like for her to understand it so she feels okay with who she is.

And I will start writing these things down now and also try to write down things I remember them saying to me over the years.

Thanks again for the help. I look forward to learning more on this forum.

Hi Openmindedmom

Welcome to the forum :)

In relation to your daughter who sees lights around people, I thought the following thread would be a good read for you. It seems very probable that she is seeing auras, but maybe she is also seeing other spiritual energies as well coming off of the individuals, including their thoughts and moods, etc:

Children who see "LIGHT”

I often mention how I have always noticed that very small children (especially young babies) often look at the top of your head when you first enter a room, as opposed to looking you directly in the face. I personally believe this is because they are looking at your energy and aura and is probably also why they cry at some peoples presence and gurgle and giggle at others. If you enter a room in a bad mood - they know it ;)

I totally agree with you on the labelling aspect of such subjects as Indigo children. I think as human beings, we try so hard to categorize everything, because we believe by doing so, we better understand it all. Of course, this leads to many inconsistencies.

And you’ll have to excuse me, as I don’t mean to keep throwing in links to other threads, rather than giving my own opinion here and now – but the fact of the matter is, they say it much better than I do and a lot of the links I am supplying have my opinions within them already. The following couple of links from the FAQ section have some points that you might find very interesting in relation to your own children. Not all the information is relevant to you exactly, but if you skim read down, there is some good excerpts and personal experiences from other members:

Books that focus on Children

Children's Night Terrors and Reoccuring Dreams
How do I talk with my child when she talks about her Past Life?

Hope they help and please keep sharing and ask as many questions as you wish ;)

Hi OMMom!

I have a 13 year old daughter who is totally connected. My younger daughter is clueless so far, but she has communicated with spirits with the help of her sister.

Do you have AIM? Maybe the girls could get together and talk - I am sure it would be an interesting conversation :)

I would caution you to tell your girls not to share with their friends what their abilities are ... other kids will not treat them well. :( Been there, done that.

Good luck to you. If I can help, please let me know.

Wow Thanks!!

Kelly,

Thanks for the links I will follow up on them in just a few minutes. I especially thank you for the information on the "lights"!!!

Mama2HRB,
I totally agree that they shouldn't share that info with their friends. She really only talks about things with me and I think she's just sort of sound boarding off of me make sure she's "OK". I basically just listen and ask her if she's okay with everything.
Does your daughter have dreams that come true? I don't mean like catastrophic mind boggling things but one example that comes to mind is my daughter dreamt she was reading a book (she didn't tell me the dream until after the fact) but anyway the next day we were at the library and I handed her this book and said "this looks like something you'd enjoy" And she was like OH MY GOSH MOM, last night I dreamed I was reading that book! Its like she is shocked every time it happens...

Oh and something else thats just sort of funny/cute- When she was a baby she could be asleep and if my husband touched me say to kiss me good night or something she would stir around. He noticed it before i did.. I didn't believe it so he said watch. She was sound asleep and he rubbed his hand across my arm and she stirred, he repeated it over and over and every time she moved! Isn't that funny.

Oh and is it possible for a child to speak to you before they are born? In the case of my 10 year old we had a name picked out for her (Ashlynn Summer) but then one day (When I was pregnant with her about 7 monthns along) any way I was just driving down the road and Its as if I heard it and saw it in my mind at the same time that she was telling me her name was Bethany Leigh. It was so bizarre. I got home and told my husband and he was like I LOVE THAT NAME!!! Strange huh..

I have got to stop posting such long post!!! I am just so excited to get answers to my questions after all these years!
:)

Thanks again to all of you!!!

openmindedmom,

I agree that your daughter is seeing other peoples' auras. It would be fun for her to find someone who also sees auras, and can train her to read the different parts of an aura.

Or just take her down to the mall, and ask her to look at someone, and describe their aura to you. Then have her work at seeing the different bands of color. It could be a lot of fun, just the two of you.

Regarding living in the Bible Belt, Edgar Cayce grew up in the Bible Belt, was even a Baptist minister! Even with these limitations, he followed his destiny, and did quite well learning to do psychic things.

Hi OMM

I’m only too happy to help ;) As I said in my previous post, chat as much as you like (and for as long as you like) and ask as many questions as you wish, that's what this forum is here for. Sometimes it may take a while to get a reply from time to time, but generally everyone here is a wonderful help if they can offer anything they think may be relevant :)

You asked: "Is it possible for a child to speak to you before they are born"???

There are a lot of members here who would tell you a big resounding YES in answer to that question. We do have a thread in here somewhere on that very topic, I shall have to dig it up for you. Also on the LIGHT thread I shared above there is a link given (by Elizabeth Hallet) that I believe goes straight through to her website where it discusses the whole idea of pre-birth communication – she has written several books on the subject.

I have also had similar announcing dreams. To most people it would sound crazy, but both of my “future” children have come to me in my dreams several times and I almost feel like I know them and their soul already – even though it will probably still be a few years yet before they finally arrive here and in my arms.

Okay, let me go find that thread I was talking about…

Hello, again OMMom,

Please do a search for my posts .... you might find my experiences interesting. At least some of them are very funny.

Yes, she can see into the future ... but not as dreams, it is usually warnings .. like do not take this road ... there is danger ahead. That sort of thing.

The warnings usually come from our loved ones in heaven. Pappy (my father) is our biggest protector.

{{{hugs}}} to Pappy from his girls :) :)
