2 year old terrified of water and explains a connection to the sea...

Hey everyone - so glad to find this site and forum and hopefully someone maybe able to guide me. I’m a parent of a lovely little 2 and a half year old girl. She’s often showed signs of seeing behind the material and so today during bath time I thought I’d finally see if her fear of water had any connection to a past life.

Her fear of water since birth went beyond kids just not liking bath times. Getting water in her face or washing her hair makes her scream in such an out of character way and is terrified no matter how many efforts I’ve taken to calm and make he feel safe. Today I asked her whilst holding her close and telling her she’s safe - I asked did something happen with water in a past life? She replied sea . I asked what happen and she said mummy lost.

I now wonder if she is still traumatized but drowning in the sea?! Or is it my imagination??

And if it is true - how do I heal or bring comfort to this poor scared little girl?

Any advise would be so welcomed!

Thank you
Saira

Welcome to the forum!

You're probably not imagining anything. Kids are really in tune with the spirit world and their past lives, although they tend to gradually lose that ability as they age, and they're usually really open about it too. They'll likely talk pretty candidly if you just ask them about it. I once spoke to a toddler who told me that he was a fisherman and his tone was so casual he might as well have been describing the weather.

Maybe just gently ask her simple questions (who and where were you, etc.). Be sure to write it down too; it'll be interesting to look at in the future if she ever gets curious herself.

It definitely sounds like some kind of trauma, but I'm not entirely sure what the solution is. She may simply grow out of it as she gets older, but you may also want to consider taking her to a child psychologist. It's probably better to nip it in the bud now rather than later, as phobias can be very damaging. If anything else, just keep trying to comfort her.

Hi saira, I agree with much of what Klaud wrote although you would probably be hard pressed to find a child psychologist that really believes in reincarnation. If you like to read, consider Carol's books, here, and/or my favorite (although my favorite won't tell you what to do).

Thank you so much, this is so comforting and guiding to hear. I will trying with a few more open questions and wonder if I can find anyone who helps with toddler aged past life healings. If you know anyone please let me know. Thank you!
