Being killed or shot in dreams

Hello Moon. I just meant that I think that past life memories or past life events are more unlikely to be recollected in dream form. I think possibly maybe it might be possible but 9 times out of 10 for the average person i'd be willing to bet wierd dreams of what might seem like something someone could interpret as a past life, could just be biproduct of ones imagination.

Would you kindly cite what research you've done to arrive at your 90% figure? Or if not, could you cite the work of another researcher's work giving the 90% statistic? And what was you criteria for determining what "the average person" is? It would be good to see some facts and figures to go along with your conclusions, to better understand your position.

Well i'll admit I dont have any Evidence. It just would seem to be common sense. I mean considering the bizaare nature of most peoples dreams its probably unlikely even if you were dreaming about a past life that something totally random would appear like they do often do in dreams.

lol like say if someone had been shot in a past life and they had a dream recollection of it, would it make sense if they also saw the Takeaway man who runs the nearby fast food joint suddenly appear and throw pizzas at them?!?! lol It just wouldnt make sense and wouldnt be relevant to past lives. We all know how bizaare and wierd and random dreams can often be. Just my 2 cents really.

That's not how past life dreams are, milkdrops. Past life dreams are totally different in feel and content than "typical" dreams. They have a very "real" feel about them - - where you can feel, taste, smell.

It's not "common sense" and I wouldn't be surprised if some members might take offense to that comment.

You may (or may not) be interested to know that we have members who have had past life dreams and been able to do research from those dreams and verify real lifes of people who lived in days gone by. I just read a very good book by one of those members called Chosen to Believe.

Hi milkdrops,

But in all I dont mean to pee in anybodys pool here but I think its highly unlikely past life memories or events are likely to trigger any recollections in dreams.
You might want to check into some research and consider doing a little reading on the subject of dreams.

Dr. Ian Stevenson has collected many cases of past life recall, many of which involve spontaneous memories in both waking consciousness and in dreams.

The Dreamer's Way has a lot of interesting information about all types of dreams, including past life deams. Here's an excerpt:

"...there is ample evidence of past-life content in dreams in the literature of scientific investigations into reincarnation. In many such cases, dreams have provided factual information previously unknown to the dreamer that can be validated, such as information about a place or even family members from a previous life." -- Rosemary Ellen Guiley Ph.D.
Past Lives, Present Dreams by Denise Linn is also a good resource.

Have you heard of Jenny Cockell? Hers is a famous case of spontaneous past life dreaming. The details she received were so specific she was able to locate the surviving children of her past self, Mary Sutton. The children confirmed intimate details that Jenny gave them -- that no one else could have possibly known. Those details -- came in dreams.

Well it may be possible but for the majority of us these bizarre and often violent dreams are a biproduct of our imaginations. Also possibly from thoughts concerning TV programs or movies we might have seen lately.

Doubtful when the dream details are historically accurate -- unlike many of the movies and shows on television. And what about the countless number of children's cases of past life recall -- that involve dreams and night terrors? Highly unlikely that small children are exposed to many of the things they speak about in those cases.

Here's an interesting link to a paper written by Dr. Antonia Mills Nightmares in Western Children: An Alternative Interpretation

You also might enjoy the story of an adult with a recurring nightmare called Cindy Night Eyes

Both of the above articles plus many others can be found in the library on Carol Bowman's website

Stay open-minded and do a little reasearch and reading -- you might be surprised ;)

Uh huh maybe the most real dreams are the ones that might be worthy of evidence.

Well didnt mean to cause offence if I did by mentioning "common sense" it was the wrong words really.

Again, how would you know if other people do have bizaare dreams or not without research? Jumping to a lot unfounded conclusions doesn't help further serious discussions in the least. Have you read any of the countless link I and others have given you? Just because you don't believe or accept something doesn't make it go away.

hi

hi...i fount your story very interesting, i my self have had several dreams in which i have been shoot but each time it makes me feel very scared. i remember my body coming an inch off the bed each time..when i woke up i could still feel the bullets and i couold feel the gun in the area where i dreamed it. scared i couldnt sleep. at all. then a few months later i saw my aunts boyfriend standing over my bed with a butcher knife in a dream once again my body came off the bed about an inch. so i wonder if maybe these are things that happened in a past life?
also how can you bring your past life memories out? i would really be intereseted in doing that and knowing abot my past life...

I have had the same dream reoccure twice within a few years. For as long as I remember I have always been afraid of being in the dark, especially by myself. But in this dream I am being stangled to death, by a unknown man in my own bed. I scream and try to call out, but for some reason I can't... I have a hard time trying to wake myself up - to be honest I don't wish to have that dream for a third time, the last time was much more vivd than the first - i know i should be strong and face it, but this dream was a horrible experience for me in both lifes...very scary...

Hi ashurie,

Maybe you can try to face the memory from 3th person perspective.

I mean, if you feel ready to explore more of that lifetime/death, try to see the memory as if it happened to someone else and you are watching; that is a way to approach it and not become too emotionally involved when that is still too hard for you. Looking at the event like an observer can give you more detail I think, like, what you looked like, how your surroundings looked etc.

Good luck on your explorations!

Hmmm I can relate to the dream littlemoon mentioned about dying. I cant recall how I died in my dreams but do recall knowing I did die. It was blackness yet a feeling of calm and it was as if I was floating?!! kinda wierd.

Thats exactly what it felt like. I don't know if you've ever tried astral projection, it's similar to that, but different in the sense that there is the disconnected feeling.
