My Daughter's "Brothers" - ? Please Read

Hello, my 4 year old daughter (only child) has recently started talking about her brothers to me, and to others. For example, she got very upset a few times recently, saying that she wanted to see her brothers again...where were they? I was speechless, for once...yesterday we were at the physical therapists' office (she broke her arm in July and got the cast off 3 weeks ago; she is going for a few sessions of PT) and the PT asked her if she had any brothers or sisters. She immediately said yes, she has three, one older and one younger (not sure what happened to the third) and when the PT asked if she could play ball with them (one of the exercises) she said yes. She said they come and talk to her and she plays with them. So...I am pretty sure they are either from a past life or they are coming to her now or are her spirit guides now, or perhaps all of the above! Anyone have any suggestions on how to pursue/questions to ask/any guidance? It would be much appreciated! (I read the book "Children's Past Lives" before she was even born; I believe without a doubt in reincarnation; my mother's family are acknowledged psychics and we were never discouraged when we saw or felt things, so I am very familiar with the concepts of this phenomena; I am just looking for some thoughts if you have any) Thanks so much!

Hi zenjen,

Welcome to the forum, and thank you for sharing your daughter’s story.

It’s great that you’ve read Carol’s book already and have a knowledge of – and belief in – reincarnation. It definitely helps when a parent is able to support their child and encourage them to share their memories and experiences.

You may want to read the thread How do I talk with my child when she talks about her Past Life? It’s got some helpful information. ;)

Please keep us posted,

Thanks for the response! BTW, I happened upon another thread that mentioned their child started talking about these things in the car, because the motion of the car lulls kids (and adults too! :) ) into a trance state - well that is amazing because that has usually been where she brings this up! Except yesterday when we were in the PT office. Thanks again - and I would love to hear from anyone else who has a thought too! Namaste

Hi zenjen and welcome to the forum. Thank you for sharing your daughter's story with us.

Namaste zenjen,

Indeed, if someone is being taken into some kind of trance, he or she can recall stuff they wouldn't remember otherwise. Such as past life information, or memories from this life that have been put in the fridge. This is not only for kids, but also for adults. But perhaps it may take an adult slightly more of an effort :)

Must be strange to hear your daughter talking about her brothers to other people besides you.

There's a lot of information on this forum you can cling on to, so I'd say, have a good time in here and good luck sorting things out :)

Hi zenjen,

Welcome to the forum. I would suggest (if you are not already doing so) that if your daughter talks about this again in the future, that you acknowledge her and go along with it as if you already knew about her three brothers. That way, she will feel comfortable enough to maybe open up and reveal some more of her memories. Ask her some questions, what are her brothers' names? how old are they? what games do they like to play? etc. Then if she answers, make sure to start a journal and write down anything she says and keep it safe, you'll be so glad that you did later on - ;)

Good luck, and keep us posted

Hi, ZenJen!

What a fascinating story! The link that Aili posted is really helpful. Also, starting a journal like Chris recommended is invaluable! Many people (children, of course, are included :) ) are more comfortable and talk more openly in the car, so definitely remain open during that time- it is precious (especially with gas prices what they are! ;) ) The journal will help you see patterns and if her memories are consistent.

Please keep us updated!

Welcome, zenjen! That's great that you're a believer, and that your maternal side of the family is too! I think Chris mentioned some great ideas to use. That's what I do with my friend's little one. Play along. :) Let us know what you find out!! FUN!

I am so glad you are enjoying already! You are what this site is about, so excited to hear your story. It is a glimpse into immortality.

Welcome to the forum, Zenjen. :)

Thanks for sharing about yuor daughter. I hope her arm will be as good as new, if it isn't already.

Others have already given you great advice, but I'd like to add that if she likes to draw, you could next time suggest she'd draw her brothers. Of course she won't be able to make very elaborate pictures at her age, but she might tell you more about them while drawing and afterwards, if you'd ask her to tell about the picture.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Hi zenjen,

It helped me to ask my son one open ended question when he brought things up. Like 'would you like to tell me about..." or when he would talk, I'd say:

oh, tell me more about that

then what happened

how did that feel?

what was that like?

I love these starters, Vicky. These are great with little ones in many situations. It is so very important that they feel "heard".
