I'm a fan of Johnny Clegg and his international hit from the 1980's, "Scatterlings of Africa." As you can see from the video, Clegg, a white South African of Jewish heritage, is quite a skilled Zulu dancer. Lately this song has been running through my mind and it occurred to me that, looking at these old videos, Clegg was probably a Zulu in a past life. I read an interview where one could surmise that Clegg grew up with a cultural identity crisis. Then I saw this remarkable story of a white boy named Keegan Baker who is passionate about Zulu culture. I just wanted to share these remarkable stories, and ask for prayers for Johnny, who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer a couple years ago.
