    An update:

Ian still doesn't remember the things he said, but he makes comments almost daily about spiritual things. He tells new acquaintances about death, spirits, 'coming back', God, and what happens before/after/in between lives.

I've not been around the forum in a while, but I wanted to stop by and encourage parents who are experiencing this for the first time. Please understand the gift you've been given. Listen to your child, and allow yourself to FEEL THE TRUTH.

    Blessings,

    Ian's Mom

    Hi everyone!

Just stopping by to update. Ian is now 5, and he mentions "Gil" every day. To remind you, Gil was mentioned during the most active part of Ian's 'remembering,' but it was brief and vague. This seems to be an imaginary friend situation, though he doesn't 'play' with the boy, only talk about him.

As far as Soh-Soh, he very rarely mentions her, but instead of the confusion he had last year, he says her name lightly and in the middle of Gil silliness.

Does anyone have experiences with this happening? Meaning, the name included in a PL experience (that was once remembered clearly) becomes just a name. Or, the name becomes an imaginary friend with changing attributes?

Apparently, I had an imaginary friend when I was small, so it makes me wonder where IF's come from. Purely from creativity? Partially from a PL memory? Completely from a PL memory? Connection with a spirit? Hmm....

    What do you think?

Hi there mysonK. I have sometimes wondered how you and your son are getting on. I would say this is the process of forgetting that you are witnessing. This is all very natural and normal.

What was once so very real, detailed, compelling and vivid to your son is now beginning to 'blend into the scenery', to become blurred and slowly forgotten in favour or more pressing matters. It is as it should be, as he has this life to get on with now. That is the way it usually works.

The best thing you can do about it, in my view, is to keep a record of all this stuff (like print out a copy of this thread for instance and put it away in a box for 20 years or so)... so that one day when he meets a girl in a green dress called 'Susannah' (or Sophie or similar) .... and maybe things aren't going so well, you might find the right moment to remind him about how very much he once loved her when he was very small.....

Call me an old romantic, but...

    Hello everyone!

I just had a discussion with Ian, one that I was putting off until it felt right. Since he told me all of the PL stuff a few years ago, I haven't mentioned it to him, nor have I talked about past lives with him. Tonight, I took a small step toward telling him about the things he has forgotten.

We were in bed and had just watched Evan Almighty, the movie where a guy basically turns into Noah and builds an ark. Ian was in bed with me and I was telling him about the Bible story. It's sort of odd that he doesn't just know the story, as I could say all the books of the Bible when I was 4. Yep, hardcore Christian family! I've tried to shield him from "religion" because he is so very naturally "spiritual."

Anyway, he has one t-shirt with a Bible verse on it because I found it at Goodwill and thought it matched him perfectly. The back of the shirt says: "Let no one look down on you because you are young." (I Timothy 4:12) I kind of laughed and told him what his shirt said on the back. He'd paid no attention. He said, "But I am young." I told him that, in spirit, he was just as old as I am.

He turned around and we started talking. He's completely comfortable talking about God, spirits, and dying. For some reason, I felt that it was the time to tell him just a little about 'back then.'

To make a long story short, I told him that when he was 3, he remembered being in heaven and said he'd chosen me and his Dad. Nothing about a past life, but some of the other things he'd said about being a ghost and watching us on Earth.

After talking a few moments, I felt something that I hadn't felt in a long time. That feeling that something special was happening. He stared right at me and spoke with basically no voice, not a whisper, but more like mouthing words. Only little chirpy sounds at the high points. He pointed up and said, "I live there." Then he pointed down and said, "This is school."

    My beautiful boy.

Out of the mouths of babes comes truths.

I am forever astounded at the wisdom that some children show at such a young age.

It's almost like they lived before and learned before (sarcasm), yeah, duh, you think? :)

It amazes me that some people (present company here excluded) still cannot accept Reincarnation in their lives.

THANK YOU for posting the story of your son in such detail. I just read the whole thing. It is astounding. He and the others written about on this site are why my worldview is 180 degrees different today. It is children's testimonies, told in the language of children as best they can, which force us to grapple with the issue of past life reality. I choose to believe the children. Thank you dear mothers and relatives for taking the many hours necessary to write these posts.

    hi 4mysonk

I have to say your son reminds me a lot of mine...I have been meaning to post regarding the comment from your son that he "lives there and this is school" My son also has made comments like that regarding god and heaven and spirits...He said his life is like a book and he can go forward or backward in the pages...Not sure what that means . But he (I think ) has described heaven with golden knights at the gate ...he says some spirits get there(to the gates) but never come in because they fall thru the floor... because its not their time to go there yet and then they fall back into their body...he has gone in depth so much so that i have forgotten some because I was so taking aback at his description... he has also said that he picked me and he decided to come to my belly...So long story short these little guys know something especially because they don't know each other and are describing the same ideas...My son is seven now so I think you will still have a few more years of info coming your way...just not as frequent...enjoy and learn! I am!

I have been reading this whole post in absolute awe. I am completley amazed by everything. I realize most of this post was from a few years back, but I just wondered if you have ever watched the movie the Music Man. The main character on there is Professor Harold Hill, and at one point in the very beginning of the movie a bunch of traveling salesmen are talking about him and one of them says...Hill...professor Harrrrrold Hill. I just thought it was such a crazy coincidence!! Either way, you're story is amazing!! I really enjoyed reading it!! :)

    Ian >>> L ian g

Even these name variations Leeung and Leeang are composed of letters that form the same or similar pronunciation as the name Ian.

This is something souls do quite often - i.e. take their previous name and use a variation of that in a following life, or even use the same name (as in the James Huston / James Leininger case).

There is also a recent case here where the child has the same name. The mother said the child picked their name before they were born.

Hi Argonne1918. Yes, it's true that we pick our own names before birth, just as we choose our parents. Children do not lie when they tell us this. Choosing the same name though seems to be less common than choosing a name variation. Just as in Ian/Liang's case, here is another example - of many - I have come across, although this is an adult case.

In this past life regression, Cheryl Baker is regressed back to a life as Joe (Joseph) Kelly, a chair maker. After the regression she is disbelieving and says it's a story she just made up.

    Che®yl --- CHELY : KELLY

    Cher(yl) ---- CHER : CHAIR

    Update! He's 10 now.

I was reading this thread to Ian because he doesn't really remember anything anymore. He suddenly said:

"When I think about it, it blacks out. The more I think about it, the more I lose my thought. I can barely remember that I was little, walking through Walmart and at the top left corner of my eye, I saw an Asian woman with blackish-brown hair, wearing it in a ponytail in the back. In the top right corner of my eye, I saw an Asian man with big cheekbones, black hair and he wore it where his hair was sticking out and in pieces. That's all I can remember."

He's fascinated! He's frustrated that he can't describe the man's hair, though.

I hope you all are well!

An additional note to this community.

This forum was invaluable while Ian's PL was being presented to me. Although I rarely visit now, I have read your beautiful responses and good wishes toward us. I'm sorry I can't reply to all. My life isn't the easiest. My memory is failing me terribly (brain tumor and narcolepsy), but my amazing son couldn't be of more help. He may have been some kind of ruthless guard or assassin before, but he is now a gentle, compassionate, incredible person. I am happy he found me worthy of becoming his Mother. I also remember past lives now, and I was given the message that he is here as my "life boat." He certainly is!

Thanks for your support. Love to all.

Thanks for bringing this back up. For me, it is timely, as it is Chinese New Year. I had seen posts from here, but read from start to finish, more or less, today. :)
