At this very moment the Notre Dame in Paris is still on fire. It hurts.

I saw on Twitter and on YouTube singing people and all I could think of was: how many of the Old Builders are watching right now? Singing goodbye to the Old Lady, la Notre Dame?
I am absolutely sure they are there. The people who build this church, the people in whose life this church played a central role during all those centuries. Not only the builders, but all those old citizens as well.

    I'm not crying, you're crying.

This is so sad. I don't recall ever having a past life in France, but this definitely hurts to watch.

Yes, it hurts. It is so sad. I was shocked when I saw it at the news yesterday.
This beautiful medieval building destroyed, centuries of history destroyed.
Humans dying would be worse, of course.
Yet still, it is painful to see this monument in flames, then in ruin.

Latest opinions on this are that the building is not destroyed, the main structure remains intact, some of the stone vaulting (the 'ceiling') still remains intact. Mainly it was the roof timbers which burned. Of course there was substantial damage to other parts of the building, nevertheless it will be rise again phoenix-like. There is a sense of optimism, of hope today, no longer despair.

Personally, I'm from the UK and I've only visited that place once, but it means a great deal to me. It seems more powerful in the way it stirs me than comparable buildings in the UK. I think that relates to one or several past lives in France.

Some old photos, not sure of date, but 19th century apparently.

I agree.. I was beyond crushed to see and hear that.. I didn't realize either it was nearly 1,000 years old. Something like that stands as a testament to human love and connection with themselves and their past. Committing to build something you wouldn't even see done for 300 years? and how many people have worked to take care of it and restore it over the years?

I think in a way, it itself is symbolic of the best of humanity and it was hard watching it burn. But it will be rebuilt and endure.

It will be rebuild and maybe this disaster is teaching us a lesson: everything is continually changing, and nothing material remains forever.

Some are saying that this is a prophecy of Nostradamus's come true:

The head of Aries, Jupiter and Saturn
God eternal what changes can be expected
Following a long century evil will return
France and Italy what emotions will you undergo?

The Sun is in Aries and Saturn is in Capricorn. Sun square Saturn and Pluto - destruction/downfall.
Mars is in Gemini square Neptune indicating fires/violence and deception/plots.
Jupiter is in Sagittarius square Neptune - all of which certainly does indicate a time of confusion.
