"Past life reading" psychics

I'm not sure if this forum is still active.

I posted a long time ago about some of my past life memories (under a different account). I've since clarified some memories with a few psychics who have "read" for me. There seem to be underlying themes, but the details are inconsistent. For example, I know that I had a life in the late 1800s/early 1900s in which I was a wife to a man with PTSD, and a mother of 6 kids. I have seen parts of it in regressions, but only the happy parts of this life. Two psychics have told me about this life, but one went into great detail with a story that seemed almost too violent/dramatic to believe, while the other one left out a lot of those details and put a more positive spin on it. My own memory of that life was quite pleasant.

In a more recent life, I have been told I was a lounge singer with an alcohol problem who died at an early age. In my own regressions I've seen bits of this, as well as how I may have died. I have also been told that several people who are present in my life now were in that life. I'm not sure whether to believe it, because this is what the psychics told me, I did not see it in my own regression.

How credible are "past life reading" psychics, generally speaking? How do you sort through the information to find the truth?

Can you tell us the thread title so we can tie it to your post? Perhaps there was nothing to add to your original post, I'm sorry that you feel unanswered.

Hi, could it be that the readers are simply picking up on things that are more close to their own feelings, personality traits etc ? I mean, just look at any situation where it includes several people, work for instance. I can attend a meeting with 4 others, and all 4 have a different thinking about the meeting, how things were said, what was said, really. Then I don't know, maybe the one more positive did not see the bad stuff, or did see them but chose not to reveal them for a reason that the other readers did not see ? Either way I think it is a personal journey, and one needs the personal truth. I've had had a life temporarily in the spotlight, female, and to be honest-- I missed her when reading about her in a context because the views and the facts were told in a way by the writer, and others, so I simply could not find "me" in there. Her voice was not there. What had been important to her was either ignored or hidden or transformed. Eventually I did find her again, picking up the pieces from various sources, to validate my own memories.

In some instances they can be quite credible. I have a close friend who has the ability to read past lives. She has given me quite detailed information on my 18th and 19th century lifetimes. I've been able to substantiate her claims through books, dreams, and meditations. It was several years ago that I learned of these lifetimes through her and she still recalls the details she gave me. My theory is that if she didn't "see" it and just pulled it out of her rear-end, she wouldn't have the detailed recall of them. But this is someone I personally know and see from time to time and get to hear the information.

In your case, what you see as inconsistent details from that lifetime with the husband with PTSD may not be all that inconsistent. This is where things can get complicated because what you saw as inconsistency may be more a case of how to present this information to you. The one psychic was a no-holds-barred kind of reader whereas the other one was more concerned with traumatizing you and focused more on the happier moments of that lifetime. Being married to a husband with PTSD certainly can make you vulnerable to domestic abuse. So, they both can be right. Hope this makes sense.

More recently I had a reading done by a past life specialist. He was highly recommended by a friend in the UK who frequently lectures on the topic. So neither one was a slouch. While his reading substantiated several lifetimes I'd seen during a regression a long time ago, as well as my 18th and 19th century ones, the one lifetime I was really curious about (my WWII lifetime) left me with more questions than answers. While he gave me incredible detail I've yet to be able to put it together into anything coherent that's even close to what I saw during that regression and in childhood recalls of that lifetime. You may wonder why I just didn't ask that friend. Well, I did and she told me she wasn't getting anything on WWII for me. I just let it rest for a few years and when the opportunity presented itself to get a reading through my friend in the UK, I decided I had nothing to lose by trying.

So the bottom line with psychics is yes, they can be quite helpful at giving you information about a past life. But other times, they can leave you with more questions than answers. And, you need to be ready to accept the latter. I like to use the term, "file it for use later". :) Also what I often hear from people with abilities is that we are not always meant to know everything about a particular past lifetime. And, we must also accept that.
