Anomalous memories

Back in the early 2000's, when I was enduring a spiritual crisis, I began having strange episodes where I "remembered" events that did not happen. For instance, I had a vivid dream that my mother had been killed in Haiti (of all places) and I felt a huge guilt for letting her go there alone. My mother had actually died of a massive stroke back in Florida in 1997. When I awoke from this I still felt the guilt from not stopping her from going to Haiti by herself. I had several other such episodes, which I termed "memory anomalies" both in dreams and some spontaneous visions. These lasted till about 2004 when I met my wife. Since then they have not reappeared. I'm not sure if these things prove anything or not, they were just odd. Never frightening or disturbing, just unexplainable.

It's not memories you're a dreaming, but fantasies, fears and things of the kind.

The brain builds situations, sometimes looking very realistic and convincing, based on your current desires, fears and presentiments, or merely on films you've seen or books you've read.

Memories are about events that REALLY happened in the past (in this life or in one of your previous lives).

When the nervous system is tired and worn, the dreams may look very smart and realistic.

A good hint, maybe, to take a holiday, make a break in your current activities or even visit a psychiarist.

A good normal quiet life produces dull and unimpressive dreams.

IMHO.

Regards.
