There's a drink I really like, though on the bottle it says "One life, right?" and I'm like "WRONG"

Not a past life thing, but I realized I have an interesting possible early childhood memory. (elaborated in comments)

I remember Yugoslavia competing in the winter Olympics. I remember their flag (stripes only with no star) and their name Yugoslavia, and that I was *rooting for them*. Why is that significant? Well, I'm not sure if the year was 1998 or 2002 but it could have been one of those, since those are the only years in my current life that an entity named Yugoslavia with that flag participated in the winter Olympics.

If it was 1998, I was 5 months old, and if 2002, I was 4 years old. I'm not even sure I fully understood the concept of countries then, much less knew what Yugoslavia was, and yet...here's this memory. No way of proving it, and it could fully well be a false memory. Big if true though.

"Mono no aware (物の哀れ, もののあはれ[1]), literally "the pathos of things", and also translated as "an empathy toward things", or "a sensitivity to ephemera", is a Japanese term for the awareness of impermanence (無常, mujō), or transience of things, and both a transient gentle sadness (or wistfulness) at their passing as well as a longer, deeper gentle sadness about this state being the reality of life."

"The Dicionário Houaiss da Língua Portuguesa defines saudade (or saudades) as "A somewhat melancholic feeling of incompleteness. It is related to thinking back on situations of privation due to the absence of someone or something, to move away from a place or thing, or to the absence of a set of particular and desirable experiences and pleasures once lived.""

Note to self: your past life info bookmarks are NOT in the folder labeled "for the future." It literally says FUTURE on it. Stop it.

It's labeled "past life stuff" but for some reason I always want to go to the "for the future" folder. That makes no sense dang it! XD

It's not on this site, by the way. It's on my computer. Just having a laugh at myself for constantly doing that

saying this because on the one hand I may be remembering scenes from a past life immediately before this one...but given the time range it might have just been things I saw on the news in 1998.

I so understand that. While "cryptomnesia" is what people cry who don't want to believe in reincarnation and reject everything that is beyond their horizon, you can't rule it out entirely either.

I think it's worth considering. You could also argue in reverse, that maybe having a past life is what causes the mind to hang on to random snippets of info like that, but it seems like a stretch. Either way, I'd like to just have all the data I can. I never really rule out anything, but I don't, uh, "rule in" things either if that makes sense.

Looking into past lives has made me realize just how much faith I put into the words of others, above my own feelings.

The bird in my profile picture is a cormorant. I took it myself, at the Gulf Coast.
