  • A while back I had some "visions" of a future life. It seemed pretty legit, even though I'm not even sure I believe in that. (I got a full name, date and location of birth...) Anyway, I thought it would be cool to make a "time capsule" to be discovered later. What would you put in it? Letters of course, and I found one of my baby teeth I still have saved for some reason. Any other cool ideas?
Got a carton of coconut water today because it's my favorite drink ever, and it actually says on the carton, "do you believe in reincarnation? this carton does, so please recycle it."
Me: "Ok, I really want to have a past life dream! It's been a while! Let's see if I can induce one." *spends all day focusing on the idea, getting my brain primed*
Me, that night: *has a dream where a witch turns every atom in my body into argon and I get blown away in the wind and eventually become a permanent part of the atmosphere*
uhhhh ok not quite what I was aiming for....
youtube.com/watch?v=_iExIvv_8rI don't know where/when this is from but, cool, video of chetniks!

"Mono no aware (物の哀れ, もののあはれ[1]), literally "the pathos of things", and also translated as "an empathy toward things", or "a sensitivity to ephemera", is a Japanese term for the awareness of impermanence (無常, mujō), or transience of things, and both a transient gentle sadness (or wistfulness) at their passing as well as a longer, deeper gentle sadness about this state being the reality of life."

"The Dicionário Houaiss da Língua Portuguesa defines saudade (or saudades) as "A somewhat melancholic feeling of incompleteness. It is related to thinking back on situations of privation due to the absence of someone or something, to move away from a place or thing, or to the absence of a set of particular and desirable experiences and pleasures once lived.""
Note to self: your past life info bookmarks are NOT in the folder labeled "for the future." It literally says FUTURE on it. Stop it.

It's labeled "past life stuff" but for some reason I always want to go to the "for the future" folder. That makes no sense dang it! XD

It's not on this site, by the way. It's on my computer. Just having a laugh at myself for constantly doing that
Currently: wishing I had a record of everything I saw on TV in the first year of my life.

saying this because on the one hand I may be remembering scenes from a past life immediately before this one...but given the time range it might have just been things I saw on the news in 1998.

I so understand that. While "cryptomnesia" is what people cry who don't want to believe in reincarnation and reject everything that is beyond their horizon, you can't rule it out entirely either.

I think it's worth considering. You could also argue in reverse, that maybe having a past life is what causes the mind to hang on to random snippets of info like that, but it seems like a stretch. Either way, I'd like to just have all the data I can. I never really rule out anything, but I don't, uh, "rule in" things either if that makes sense.
Me: *wants to find 9/11 PL stories* Me: "I know! Let's see the oldest posts on the forum, from like 2000!" *brain fart*

    Oh thanks!
The bird in my profile picture is a cormorant. I took it myself, at the Gulf Coast.
