Music is the key

Memories are foggy for me, yet they reveal so much.

Like looking into a mirror. I have trouble doing this. One glimpse, and the secrets just poor out...just like looking into people's eyes. I can't do it for too long or their secrets are revealed as well...

Am I psychic? I do not use the word, but I think we all have spiritual gifts. We just got to be ready to receive them...

Many things bring up certain lives, but music is the biggest key to unlocking the doors to the past.

I am also musical in this life, and always felt that my skills ran deep other than my DNA...

It is hard to explain, yet when I play piano my fingers makeup a song that sounds so familiar.

I also learn quickly, and play other instruments as well.

Music is a strange addiction. It can make you feel sad, crazy, and quiet all at once. Certain sounds bring me back to the stage remembering how to perform.

I also have a love/hate relationship with certain songs. If it is on the radio I will have to shut it off immediately. And I think it is something bad connected to that song.

Anyway...Do any of you have a continuing theme with your past lives? Perhaps it has something to do with art, music, or film?

I do have something with music, but I don't remember ever having been a musician or composer.
As a monk, of course, I would have sung together with others.
As an upper-class person I would have listened to musicians playing and have danced to it.
You also do not need to be a musician or composer as profession to learn an instrument, try to sing or compose something, right?

There's quite a lot of things, and some ideas I had as a kid... well, would fit more for an educated person of an earlier era.
This does not apply to lives where I was starving poor, of course.

Books. Some special, old books.
When I heard of them in my current life as a kid I was like: must read them.
I have a thing with old-style rhyming poems and writing, but I don't remember ever having been a poet or writer. But who says you can't have done this as a hobby in a past time?
Or as a librarian, but I don't remember being a librarian either.
Or a scientist. Science is such a thing, too. And philosophy.

I certainly will have heard of this or that, read this or that, ... in more than one PL whenever I had access to education.

I probably don't remember all my lives yet, and maybe never will.

Music is a recurring theme in several of my lifetimes. During a group regression I had seen myself as a court musician (lutenist) in Heidelberg in the Middle Ages, a pianist in the latter half of the 19th century and a violinist in and around the 1920s-1930s.

I am a musician in this lifetime. Things like pitch, reading music, music theory, etc., have come easily to me in this lifetime. I am far from being a prodigy, but it all feels familiar to me and I could never get enough of it.

It's pretty freaky when I recognize a certain piece that I know I've never heard in this lifetime. One of these was "Les Preludes" by Franz Liszt. I found myself humming along to a recording of it. It was so familiar to me, yet I knew I'd never performed or heard it in this lifetime. I figured out later that the piece was commonly used by the Germans in 1930's-1940s newsreels. So, this, along with some other things seemed to point to a past lifetime in Germany in that time period.

Seekerofknowledge: thanks for answering in detail. And hood question too. I believe you don't need to be a prodigy in order to pick up an instrument. It's mostly from memory, our dreams, or DNA? My family is very musical

Alteseele: You bring up some good points as well. I am in no way a prodigy but people have asked before. I also feel familiar with slot of songs on the radio singing along to them in my head even tho I do not really know it

When I write music, it doesn't feel like I'm writing music...it feels like I'm recalling an old favorite tune, and trying to remember how it goes.
