Hi George,

I think it's a case of "whichever works best for you" with regression cd's. Some people prefer the guided regression, while others get better results if they're left 'undisturbed' with just the ambient sounds alone. For me personally, I've experienced my most intense past life memories with Jeffrey Thompson's Gamma Meditation System, while friends of mine couldn't get along with it at all. I've heard that William Buhlman and Tom Carey's

Original OM cd is also a very good one, but again, it's all down to personal preference. You can find both of these cd's in this thread: Audio CD's Suitable For Past Life Regressions

Good luck :)

regressions

I have been to a number of group regressions, and the leaders were fairly high profile in the field. I have also been trained in hypnosis or hypnotherapy, and have had an uncompromising belief in reincarnation since at latest 16.

However, to get to the actual revelations of specific lives had been tortuous. Starting at 15-17 I had to "produce" in the area of one of my eventually confirmed to me, past lives. At 23 I had a devastating experience that might be described as psychologically "near death", but from 23 and 24 I seemed to be placed "in the space" of some of my previous lives, while also being able to research via meditation and book reading.

It wasn't until more than 20 years after the experiences, and during that time having the thought of constantly trying to figure out other people's past lives and my possible relationship to them, that I either sought or found relevant literature about past live therapy or Stevenson-like research.

I would not wish on my "breaking" experiences, but I don't think finding one's previous existences is expected to be casual.

One of my goals is to have a professional regression. I've been using cds, and thus far no results. I really cannot afford to spend the money on a regression and have it yield no results, so my lack of success with the cds has me delaying making an appointment; my line of thought is that if I cannot get results with the cds, what are the odds I'd be able to focus enough to do well with a regression (I could be wrong though).

I have no plans for a professional regression largely due to lack of trust. It takes a lot for me to trust a person, especially with my subconcious. It's not that I fear they'll "do" anything or plant suggestions, and I know I could have my husband in there with me, it's just that I'm a very private person, and inviting someone I do not know on a very personal level into the depths of my mind makes me uneasy. I figure if I'm supposed to remember something, I'll remember it when I need to.

My father had a bit of a talent for it, and I allowed him to regress me once. I stumbled across pre-American Civil War life that was quite pleasant. It was only a "snapshot" of that life, but it was nice. However, he had a tendency to ask leading questions and he tried to take me to a life that I know wasn't mine, that of his grandmother. He wouldn't accept that I wasn't her reincarnation and insisted that I was just repressing those memories or filling in false memories that just couldn't be true since I had obviously been his grandmother. (He had some issues there, and I think he could have benefitted from a therapist.) I eventually stopped discussing the matter with him. We still talked about reincarnation, but whenever he would start talking about his grabndmother, I'd change the subject.

I would be interested in having a regression - IF I were sure the person doing it was the "real deal". That is a difficult one. I have visited various mediums/psychics over the years - and, to date, have not found a genuine one and have met one or two out-and-out rogues - hence gave up even trying to find a genuine one. I DO believe there ARE genuine ones out there - but have no idea how to find one that is the "real deal".

Thus - on from that - I had one visit to a hypnotherapist for a regression session and nothing happened. In his case - I think he probably genuinely believed he could do this - but either he was self-deluding or I'm not capable of being hypnotised (with one notable exception I met in a totally different context once and I didnt even realise he HAD hypnotised me until some time later - as I hadnt requested it).

So - I'm rather doubtful about my chances of ever having a successful regression session anyway - hence why I don't try.

I note the comment from a poster earlier re self-regression info. on YouTube. Would it be possible for someone to give a link to that please?

If you are in the States, here is a link to Past Life Regression Therapists who are formally qualified as the "real deal".

If you go to Youtube.com and enter "self regression" in the search window, you will find a number of free videos. Some are better than others, but you'll have to try them out to see what works best for you.

Thank you for that.

I'm in England in fact - but I have just had a quick looksee at YouTube under that heading and saved a couple for a more in-depth look.

Obviously - there will be a personal element involved. We will all resonate with some peoples voices/style of presentation and not with others.

So - I've saved a couple of longer ones that, at first glance, have voices I'd be okay with.

I've had a past life regression with a group two or three years ago, which was led by my boss at work. She is a very spiritual woman who has been practicing yoga, astrology, and past life regression for decades.

The experience did not do much for me, although others in the group had vivid experiences. :c Perhaps I was expecting too much, or eagerly anticipating what I would see during the regression. We were lying down on yoga mats on a parquet floor, which felt very uncomfortable. Throughout most of the session, I got dizzy instead. My boss said that I was thinking too much. Being the youngest in the group (I am in my late twenties) may also have been a factor.

At some point, however, I did see myself dressed in (what I thought was) Chinese garb, like a concubine or woman of nobility, and I was looking through a very large window out into the desert. The red headdress I had on was very elaborate. This only happened for a split second, so I am not sure if it was a past life memory or just a figment of my imagination.

Questions:

Is it alright to go through more than one past life regression? After going through what I think is a past life experience last March, I've considered going through another regression to confirm any past life links and to help "move on" from my experience.

Was what I saw a past life memory? Can you see a glimpse of your past life in a matter of split seconds? Or was it just a figment of my imagination, in a attempt to "see something"?

Hello and welcome White-China.

There are no rules on how many regressions you may experience. Certainly here, many people have had multiple experiences. I think it is more important for you to understand what it is you're seeking. I always encourage people to continue their journey. I think you have the right idea in wanting to "confirm and move on." In my own experience with regression, I was so overwhelmed by it all... the magnitude, the meaning, the emotion... that I have been hesitant to "go there" again. BUT! I want to, and will, my purpose being to clarify and re-explore details. I'd urge you to go on with them if you're so inclined.

Was what you saw a glimpse of a past life memory? Well there is no certainty, but it is manifesting itself in your life by the simple fact you are asking. Whether it is or isn't at least you can see the possibility.

I look forward to hearing more from you.

Thank you, Tinkerman.

I had always thought of past life regressions as a once-in-a-lifetime experience, especially since a person goes through hypnosis. But if it is perfectly fine to go through more than one, as you've said, I might consider.

Is it okay, though, to have a regression after two, three years?

Hi White-China, sure... what is time? Perhaps if you explain what, or why, you think 2 or 3 years has some meaning in the regression process. Also I'm curious where and why you think or were taught that only one regression is allowed?

Past life study is, for me, an on going process that will most likely carry on for years, if not many more lives. We are here to learn and we pass through these lives, in these bodies, with these people, with kindred souls in order for us to advance in whatever this great big creation is. All of who you are NOW, is a culmination of previous lives. Those past joys, sadness, tragedies etc., have woven you, your soul, now. I'm sure there is much more for you to learn by exploring further... if you're so inclined.

Knick knack I would keep trying. I have been to about five sessions and it was a great experience. My best experiences came from meditation cds . I do want to say that I had a purpose to go which was to help cope with my chronic pain. The cost was prohibitive and there never seemed to be enough time in three hours to get through each life. Having the time to meditate and learning to do it properly takes time but when its the right time you will have an experience.

It took a few months after my first professional regression to have an experience with a guided cd but it did happen and best of all I was able to prove it. I think being positive and open helps for either cd guided or professional regression.

I have never had any kind of regression but the whole thing does really intrigue me. It is definitely something I would consider when I am a bit older and see what it comes up with. I feel like I have nothing to lose by doing it and I'm very interested in the experience. I hav never been hypnotised in any way either though. I have seen things in documentaries about it and read some things on it but I'm very inexperience in this whole field.

My first regression.

Hi my name is Matt and I am new to the form. I just recently had a regression with Carol Bowman. The experience was very interesting but now as powerful as I'd expected it to be. Also I'd felt that it was more powerful in the beginning then the end. The feelings disapted a little after I came out of my body in the first life. Didn't get any real strong visuals or really deep details. I believe one of the reasons for this is because you have to have a couple sessions done before you have a powerful experience. Also I'm under the age of 30. I'm only 23 turning 24 in july so I haven't had the expected amount of life experience. However I thought Carol did a great job with me an I would recommend her to anyone. I look foward to maybe having one in the future as well.

Hiya Matt welcome and thanks for posting. Yes the initial experience is certainly one to learn from. What prompted you to seek out past life regression?

Again welcome aboard!!

I haven't had one yet :) I've entertained the thought in the past, and let it go. After reading a few books on reincarnation and regression, I'm ready to be regressed and see if I can make sense of some things! :D

A few years ago, i had a prof regression done,.. she was putting me into a trance, and made sure i was fully relaxed.. but i didnt really like it.. i was too nervous of what was going to happen my first time and couldnt relax.

Though, i saw some visions, but was unsure if it was just my imagination or past life memories ...

I saw alot of green, woods and hills, like if you fly with an airplane above the countryside...and when she was asking me what i did see when looking at myself, i saw myself wearing brown clothes, and bare feet...

At some point i also saw an opera hall, with a harlequin puppet or something...wiggling its body from the left to the right...

I don't know if that was accurate though, i have a big imagination, and i wasnt fully in trance...or relaxed.

Oh, the weird thing is...

She had a real skull next to me of someone who died a long time ago, he was a wood cutter/protector, someone working in the woods...

When i saw the images of woods, maybe it was even the energy i picked up of that dead man's skull, who knows ...

Also odd was, that the room started to feel very cold, when she put me under regression ....

A good friend of me was in that room too, and he said it was very cold ....not sure what happend.

Would love to have more regressions done, but the money is an issue... i know i'm very nervous and when i do such things on commando, it wont get me anywere.

She did charge me 85 euro's for one hour...

i don't want to waste that another time.

I've had professional regression twice. Each time I went back to my life in Ancient Egypt. The first regression was very powerful, I relived the happy moments I had in Ancient Egypt with my then husband, though sadly the regressionist rushed me through them. There were sad moments too, like remembering having lost two children to stillbirth - I absolutely sobbed over them!

The second regression was horrible. I was probably still very weak from bereavement over my cat who had been killed only a few months before so maybe shouldn't have gone for regression so soon after that. Anyway I went back to the same life in Ancient Egypt but the regressionist just wanted me to relive my death scene, which was very traumatic. She believed it would help with current issues in my life (it hasn't). She then insisted that I must forgive my then husband's murderer. I didn't want to and indeed forgiveness is not really part of my religious belief system (I'm originally Jewish but follow now an Ancient Egyptian religion) so I didn't feel it was right.

She insisted so to make her happy I forgave the murderer. It was so hard on me that over the next few days it nearly cost me my life! I became very ill with exhaustion and nearly died, I had never felt so weak amd awful in my life!

The act of forgiving didn 't help of course. My Egyptian husband's murderer (who also had me killed in Ancient Egypt) has come back into my current life in order to claim power over me and make my life pure hell. He has come into my current life as a very abusive boyfriend (now ex of course). He has murdered again - my cat!

And no, I do not forgive him for that, nor do I forgive what he did in Ancient Egypt.

I just wish people wouldn't be so influenced by this Christian idea of having to forgive! You have to forgive nothing unless you really want to!

I still don't know why history has repeated itself. Not just that he has murdered again, and again the one person I loved the most - my cat. Also, just like in Ancient Egypt he is again a much older man, in his seventies. And again he is trying to take power - power that he has no right to take. Yet again he has forced me into a number of things that I didn't want to do. He has also forced me for a long time to continue the "relationship" (farce of a relationship more like) by way of threatening and blackmailing me.

In Ancient Egypt he had forced me into marriage after murdering my husband - not because he cared about me (then as now, he is incapable of loving), but because through me he could become Pharaoh.

I'm amazed as to how similar the whole set up is in this life.

I'm just not sure what the outcome will be of all this. In Ancient Egypt this "man" was Pharaoh for four years (before he died) after he had my husband killed - it's now been three years (in this life) since he killed my cat...

I have learned that forgiveness is for the one doing the forgiving, not for the guilty person. As long as you hold a strong hatred for this man he holds a power over you. Forgive him and take his power away.

Good luck to you.

King Tut: Illnesses and Death

King Tut was tall but physically frail, with a crippling bone disease in his clubbed left foot. He is the only pharaoh known to have been depicted seated while engaged in physical activities like archery. Traditional inbreeding in the Egyptian royal family also likely contributed to the king's poor health and early death. DNA tests published in 2010 revealed that Tutankhamen's parents were brother and sister and that his wife, Ankhesenamun, was also his half-sister. Their only two daughters were stillborn.

Because Tutankhamen's remains revealed a hole in the back of the skull, some historians had concluded that the young king was assassinated, but recent tests suggest that the hole was made during mummification. CT scans in 1995 showed that the king had an infected broken left leg, while DNA from his mummy revealed evidence of multiple malaria infections, all of which may have contributed to his early death.

I did not do the poll. The possible answers did not really apply.

Many years ago I did a regression in a group. I don't remember the credentials of the person leading it. It did work for me. I connected with a little house and path to it. I remember near the end looking out at a brown field and feeling great joy and satisfaction.

I was wondering what this was all about as it seemed like just brown dirt. Then I notice a very slight impression of green on top of the dirt. I then realized that I'd done a lot of work and my crop (maybe my first) was coming up - I had been successful.

I had a friend who was a professional hypnotherapist guide me in a regression to see what was behind my stuffy nose and breathing problems. I connected to a life where I was on a sailing ship in GREAT misery. I decided in my desperation to do something to get out of that mess. I decided to attempt a mutiny. If I failed I'd get thrown over board and be out of that mess the other way.

Well, I then connected with the sense of being picked up and got a glimpse of the ocean. I felt apprehension, but did not get any further. A month or so later I was having another night terror about dying in my sleep because of not breathing.

I used my own technique and was able to connect with the HOPELESSNESS of being in the water as the ship sailed away. I tapped (Like EFT) on that feeling of hopelessness and it was gone. Phew! I rolled over and went to sleep and have not been plagued by that same problem again.

So would I go to a professional regressionist? I doubt it. I think I'm getting close to being able to consistently connect with my past-lives. What I'm doing with others is quite simple, quick, powerful and can be done over the phone. If I can figure out how to get the difficult people to tune in, I can probably use the same technique for myself.

I don't mind someone guiding me, but I'm not as interested in the scenic route than I am at getting to the key traumas and healing them. I see this as uncovering my full potential.
