Christian sects having belief in reincarnation

The Christian Community is a Christian denomination that had belief in reincarnation as part of its theological doctrine. They consider the soul immortal via reincarnation.

The Christian Community in Germany was banned by the Nazis in 1941 and its leader Emil Bock imprisoned due to the community's alleged "Jewish" and "Masonic" nature, but the community continued its activities in Switzerland and England, and was reestablished in West Germany after the war.

Basic tenets of some priests of the Christian Community are 1) free will, 2) reincarnation and 3) focus on Christ. For example, Jesus of Nazareth is seen as a physical vessel that enabled the spiritual being called Christ to influence the world.

Hi Ajay0,

There are some very lengthy (and good) threads on Christianity and Reincarnation on the forum. These two come to mind:

BTW--I put in a summary/description somewhere on the forum (probably in one of these threads) of various Christian denominations that accept reincarnation, including the "New Church". Unfortunately, I don't have time at the moment to search for it. However, the threads named will provide a lot of information on the topic.

Cordially,

The threads above are both good reading. However, the actual listings I was speaking of are on this thread:

Here is another Christian group that I find intriguing: The Order of The Cross
Their website is here: https://www.orderofthecross.org/

Founder: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Todd_Ferrier

Wiki Quote: [The Order] is an informal spiritual fellowship, "having for its service in life the cultivation of the Spirit of Love towards All Souls: helping the weak and defending the defenseless and oppressed: abstaining from hurting the creatures, eschewing bloodshed and flesh eating and living upon the pure foods so abundantly provided by Nature: walking in the Mystic Way of Life whose Path leads to the realisation of the Christhood and sending forth the Mystic Teachings unto all who may be able to receive them - those Sacred interpretations of the Soul, the Christhood and the Divine Love and Wisdom for which the Order of the Cross stands".

The foregoing is a good start, but I still find them hard to sum up. They are very much into the arts, including dance (with connections to Isadora Duncan). They are also pacifists, and seem to require a vegan or vegetarian lifestyle. I think their spirituality reflects some of the currents at the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th, but that supposition is not backed up by extensive research (and would not be a negative IMO). I found the books they sent me to be fairly dense, and believe they will take some concentrated effort to get through (at least for me). They have free pamphlets online at their website, and will send you other books for free (as they did for me), but did seem to want to know that I was a sincere seeker. However, the person I communicated with (via email) seemed to be very set on vegetarianism as a minimum condition for getting more involved in their group.

In any case, I definitely found them to be very interesting and intend to keep trying to wade through the different literature they have made available. BTW--their website is definitely worth a long browse.
