Does souls always reincarnate into babies or baby animals?

I will admit that I don't know much about reincarnation and was unsure about my beliefs until recently. A few months ago we got a kitten and he was amazing. He was sweet, patient, kind and I created a beautiful bond with him. Unfortunately, he had a rare disease and passed away really quickly. It's been about three months since his death. I had a really hard time with his death. We had two cats at the time of his death and we got another about a month after. Our new kitten is lovely and has created a great bond with my daughter, but unfortunately my allergies are so bad that I can only hold her right before I shower. I ended up getting a cat which was the same breed as my first kitten who passed (who I didn't have allergies to). I saw her picture and immediately fell in love, she was the only white kitten in a breed of 8 (or more) gray kittens. She is about three months old, her birthday about 2-3 weeks before the passing of my first kitten. I genuinely feel like she's my first kitten who passed, just in a new body. She is so comfortable here right away, her energy is the same and she's honestly healed me so much. Our dog is soooo protective over her, too. The only thing that's confusing is that she was born before my first kitten passed. Do souls only reincarnate into babies/baby animals? I'm so confused and I feel like a crazy person. lol.

Hi Village,

Welcome to the board. I personally do not know the answer to your question, or even have an opinion about it. Human to animal reincarnation discussions are generally against board rules:

However, as your question involves animal to animal reincarnation, it does not directly, IMO, infringe this particular rule. I cannot recall this subject ever coming up in the past. Perhaps someone else can provide some guidance.

Cordially,

I speculate that it could be possible. Or it might not be the exact same thing in this case as reincarnation. There are still so many things about the nature of souls and spiritual existence that we can't understand yet. But it brings to mind a case with an old horse my family used to have who suddenly died one day. He was special and had a lot of personality, so it was quite a loss when he passed. Later on we got another horse who was in need of a new home, who looked and acted surprisingly similar. And he had a white stripe down his face which looked pretty much exactly like a mirror image of our old horse's face marking. Even our other oldest horse - an old paint who was best friends with the one who passed away- acted almost like he knew this horse as his old friend. But after the paint died, our new one's behaviour lost a lot of those familiar attributes and he became more just his own unique self. I don't know, but it seemed as if a part of the old horse's spirit stayed around and expressed itself through the new horse until the old paint passed away, then finally went home afterwards.
