Fake NDEs

Hi TABA,

I haven't watched this yet, but I am very glad you put up something. I became aware not too long ago, that a plethora of "spectacular" NDE reports were coming online, and they were often conflicting and sometimes just plain weird. I found this confusing, until I realized that I was just being jerked around and that a lot of them seem to have been just "made up" balderdash. So frustrating! One of the first things I look for now is an actual identifiable human being that is reporting. Many of these NDE reports just have backgrounds and a narrative with no identifying details or identifiable narrator. Even where there is an actual person making the report, that is no reason to believe it unless their NDE can be verified through some third party source. Anyhow, "buyer beware"--there seem to be a lot of fakes going up on Youtube these days (in this area as well as others).

I'll get around to watching the video as soon as I get a chance, but I couldn't wait to give you a thumbs-up on this one!

Cordially,
S&S

PS--I'm sure the same is true for some reincarnation reports, etc. on Youtube as well.

Here’s a summary of the video:

Melissa from the Love Covered Life podcast highlights the rise of AI-generated near-death experience (NDE) content on YouTube. She explains that, while the NDE community has grown positively over the years, AI-driven channels are now creating entirely fake stories, sometimes with fabricated hosts, that mislead viewers.

Key points covered:
  1. Evolution of NDE Podcasts
    • Early NDE podcasts featured real experiencers sharing authentic stories, often at personal risk.
    • As the niche grew, competition increased, leading some creators to repurpose content or fabricate stories.
  2. AI-Generated Content Concerns
    • Some channels produce fully fake NDE stories using AI voices, AI-generated faces, and B-roll to simulate interviews.
    • These videos often present fear-based Christian messages or politicized content, which misrepresents typical NDE accounts.
    • Red flags include overly formal or “read-off-a-script” narration, minimal real facial footage, and lack of guest identification or contact information.
  3. Comparison With Legitimate Channels
    • Authentic NDE channels use B-roll to complement real interviews, show real faces, and provide ways for viewers to submit true NDE stories.
    • Examples include The Other Side NDE, Heaven Aways, and smaller creators who consistently share real experiences.
  4. Ethical and Community Impacts
    • Fake NDE content is unethical because it misleads viewers, often those coping with fear of death or grief.
    • Undisclosed AI content promoting fundamentalist ideologies undermines the true NDE message, which emphasizes love and universal human experience rather than religion or fear.
  5. Practical Advice
    • Verify guests’ identities and search for corroborating interviews.
    • Look for channels that provide ways for people to submit their real stories.
    • Be cautious of fear-based or politically charged content claiming to be NDEs.
    • Report AI-generated content that violates YouTube’s disclosure policies.
  6. Support Authentic Content
    • Melissa lists several trustworthy NDE channels and encourages viewers to support creators who put in real work to share genuine experiences.
Overall, the video is a warning to the NDE community: AI-generated content is proliferating, it can mislead viewers, and discernment is required to separate authentic experiences from fabricated ones.
Here’s a structured table of the authentic NDE channels Melissa Clais highlights, including subscriber count, focus, and distinguishing traits:

Thanks for posting. I wasn’t aware of this. Yes, NDE accounts are really easy to fake with AI.

For those interested in NDE research and studies of authentic accounts, there are a handful of researchers, kind of pioneers in the field, who contributed very interesting work and who are worth listening to. The most known are:

Jeffrey Long
Bruce Greyson
Pim van Lommel
Michael Sabom

All of them are physicians who, although mostly starting out as sceptics and materialists, got interested in NDEs because of first-hand accounts from their patients in hospitals. You can find several interviews with them on YT. I’ll include one for each beneath. The books they wrote are usually linked in the video description.
