How do the various religions of the world view reincarnation?

I would think that everyone who has ever concluded that reincarnation-type experiences do indeed occur has also came to a contradictory feeling towards it...1. I want to have a great next-life, with everything I never had in this life...and 2. I don't want to come back into a worse world. I want...

How do the various religions of the world view reincarnation?

I suggest reading "The Fourth Turning" for a closer look at short-term cycles. Monarchy declined? I don't think so. A close look at the world shows all the old Royal family lines and wealth are still here, directing things. Just not above water, all on the down-low. Communism and Islam are both...

How do the various religions of the world view reincarnation?

I find the Ragnarok and other prophecies to be very relevant. However, I don't believe them to be truly "prophecies". I think there have been many cycles of mankind, through which we, as humans, have passed through. These cycles were very similar, though not identical, with our current one. The...

How do the various religions of the world view reincarnation?

I remember the Florida of my childhood, when the beaches were two-hundred yards wide, white as sugar, and empty of people. The inland was tropical and lush, dotted with small towns. I remember driving down the West coast and seeing the ocean almost the entire way. All gone, now. I was a police...

    Past to present: Gender change

The whole gender-change thing was the hardest fact about reincarnation that I had to accept. The thought that I may have given birth...!

Do you tell others about your shared past lives?

My wife and I discuss past lives and reincarnation frequently, as we are getting up there in age.

    Anomalous memories

It's not happening now. Just for about a one year period.

    Anomalous memories

Back in the early 2000's, when I was enduring a spiritual crisis, I began having strange episodes where I "remembered" events that did not happen. For instance, I had a vivid dream that my mother had been killed in Haiti (of all places) and I felt a huge guilt for letting her go there alone. My...

How do the various religions of the world view reincarnation?

Certainly, I am comfortable speaking about these experiences. I'll tell you up front that some (but not all) of my journey involved entheogens, that is Psylocybin mushrooms. I don't know how you feel about that, but it was integral to my path at the time. If you're still interested maybe I can...

How do the various religions of the world view reincarnation?

I, too, had always thought of Celts as mainly Irish, etc. But after looking at their history I found that Celts, and kindred types, existed from China to North Africa. I try to always factor in the fact that we know practically nothing of true history, just bits and pieces.

How do the various religions of the world view reincarnation?

The distinction between the Norse and Celts is very ambiguous, with some scholars arguing that our historical perspective is wrong, they were not entirely separate people and shared many cultural similarities. Norse Gods are cognate with many Celtic Gods. I put no trust in any "Holy Book", or...

How do the various religions of the world view reincarnation?

SeaAndSky.....I think that pre-industrial folks, living within a shamanic tradition suited to their own people, would have had a much clearer view of how consciousness inhabits matter, and thus an acceptance of reincarnation. My avatar is a digital painting I did a few years ago to illustrate a...

How do the various religions of the world view reincarnation?

I believe I may be the only North European Pagan person on the forum. My two cents...We have hints and pieces of the old ways. There are strong suggestions that Norse, Celt and Saxon kindred Folk held a belief in transmigration of soul and memories.

How strong would you mark your belief in reincarnation out of 100% ?

I'm am as certain of some type of reincarnation phenomena as I am of anything else...can never be 100% but I don't expect it to be. That there is some type of anomalous information passing between dead and living individuals is inarguable. It sure seems like reincarnation as we observe it.

    Greetings from the Pacific Northwest!

My avatar? I've been a digital painter for years. That's a piece I did a while back, just a portraiture of a young girl. At the time I was thinking of illustrating a children's book and she was a test piece. Glad you like it!
