I was wondering what people's thought are on
this topic. I placed it here because it came
to my mind when thinking about my children.
After my youngest child remembered a past
life he brought it up sometimes for a couple
of years, until his fifth birthday. One day,
while I was taking them to a medical appt.,
he brought it up again.
Apparently, he brought it up when I wasn't
around because his older brother (by 15 mos)
was immediately annoyed. They argued with
my older son insisting it wasn't true and it
was made up.
"I remember before I got born too!" he told
his brother, "It was all black. There was
nothing! There was no me. I wasn't anywhere!
Then I was there but it was black and then I
got born! Its my only time!"
Only time. First time? A new soul? I do not
subscribe to the idea that new people who
are retarded are all new souls. I don't think
intelligence is the issue unless there is a
lesson to be learned. I don't think people
who are insane or sociopathic are new souls.
I wouldn't assume any of them were, not
necessarily. Could be. Maybe not.
I don't know what a new soul might be like. I
know my son is an honor student, felt a
strong need for a spiritual life but it was
not reincarnation. He became a Methodist like
his grandparents and is remarkably devout for
a teenage boy who is also popular, easy-going
and athletic.
Maybe he isn't a new soul and is just someone
who has no past life memories or represses
them. I don't think so. I think he was quite
honest in what he related. He had no reason
not to be and he wasn't quite 4 and a half.
I don't know. Perhaps others have had a simi-
lar experience or have some thoughts on the
subject. What do you think?
