A question from a "skeptic"

Hello all,

Here is my question,

I saw that most of you are very sure that they had past lives, and even remember them. how can someone remember his past lives without being hypnotized? I mean I really like the idea of reincarnation, but still I can't r believe in it since I don't have any experience in this field and I can't understand how it works. I don't have any flashing ununderstood memories, or dreams that are hard to understand. Also I don't feel like I lived in a certain place before this life.
How can I access to my PLs without having hypnosis, because I think it is almost impossible to find a hypnotizer or PL therapist in my city,or even country.

Thank you.
Anas

I've never been to a hypnotist or a past life regression therapist before, but I have a few clear memories of my most recent PL.

How did I "see" them?

The answer is pretty simple: I meditate.

I do have a lot of PL dreams, too (though they are more like nightmares), but my visions came from meditation.

A lot of people here have resources for guided meditation and such, so maybe that will help you, if you want to know.

Hi Laodikianos,

People may experience spontaneous past life recall. Have you ever had a memory from your present life seemingly come out of nowhere? Something you hadn't thought of in years? That's spontaneous memory recall. Both in past life and present life spontaneous recall, the memory is usually caused by a "trigger."

They may recognize past life experiences in dreams. Here's a thread on some of the common characteristics of past life dreams. You said you don't have dreams that are hard to understand - but in my personal experience, past life dreams are not difficult to understand, if you know what you're looking for. Some individuals may have a recurring dream or nightmare. Some may dream of a specific time period or event. Most people do not recognize it as being a past life dream - they simply shrug it off as a "strange" dream.

Some individuals practice meditation. There are some wonderful threads in the FAQ section. How can I learn about my past lives? and Audio cd's suitable for past life regressions may be beneficial to you.

Good luck,

Hello Anas, welcome to the forum :)

You've already got some great advice and links to check out, I don't have much else to add. You don't need hypnosis to remember your past life memories, they are accessible to everyone and they can surface with deep relaxation and an altered state of consciousness, similar to how you feel when you are daydreaming.

Read the links that Aili provided, and practice some relaxation techniques to begin with. There are some very good audio cd's to help you with regression, that can be just as productive as a session with a therapist, the only difference being that the cd's are generic and not tailored to your specific needs, but they are great way to start, and to show you what to expect if or when you book an appointment with a therapist.

Let us know how you get on, and hope you enjoy the discussions here.

I do aswell ask myself how to recall more of my past life.
Do I really need a CD for this or can I meditate my own way?
Hi frl.elisabeth,

Different methods work for different people. Personally, I get slightly better results from a guided regression cd, but others find more success with ambient sounds, while some people simply meditate in silence. Experiment and see what works best for you, there's no set rule in what you have to do, and what you have to use to achieve successful results :)
