Forgive me for taking the chance to brag about my son, but that is why I love reading these stories about children. Sure, I had memories as a kid and still remember. It's just that I'm having so much fun exploring my son's.
As I have mentioned somewhere else, my son started talking about about being talking about one life in particular about a year ago. He is now 4 1/2 years old. He talked about being my present mother's teacher. He said that it was a one room school house scenario because there wasn't a town around. The school was held at his home (a white building)because he was the teacher at the time.
This is what they did for school when my present grandfather was a kid growing up in a ranching community. We never talked about it since my son was born. There was no other way that he could have known about it.
However, it has really affected this life. He can't wait to go to school. That is all that he talks about. I can only afford to put him in preschool for three mornings per week. Still, he gets upset that it's not enough. He was able to count to ten at 18 mo. and is about to start learning how to read (learning the sounds of letters). He also adds already (something that no one has taught him). I don't know where his vocabulary is because I stopped keeping track at 18 mo. At that time I was told that his vocabulary was at least at a three year old level and maybe higher. The list goes on and on.
Sometimes I'm a little scared that I won't be able to keep up with him or that he will get bored. Which also reminds me of a question that I wanted to ask. Could IQ and knowledge have any basis on the accumulation of past lives? Kind of a building upon past knowledge kind of thing that just accumulates with each life.
One last thing about my son. This happened yesterday and I couldn't wait to tell someone. We were getting ready to watch Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. I know for sure that he has never seen the movie before yesterday (and we don't have cable). While we were waiting for the movie to start, he not only described the dwarfs and knew their names, but he had a favorite and described a seen in the movie that the dwarf was in. It was a seen that I had forgotten about myself and I've never seen in a commercial. Periodically through the movie he would tell me what was about to happen as if he'd seen it before. This was such a fun experience.
