"Baby Michael"

My sister in law related this story about my nephew (J) who's 2 1/2. My sister in law is currently pregnant, and she's asked J whether she is going to have a girl or boy he replies "boy" (she is going to have a girl), and she'll ask what name should the baby have or who's in her stomach. About 1/3 of the time he'll respond with "baby Michael" or "baby Michael's in there" (the other times he responds with his own name or fire truck).

I don't know if it means anything or he's remembering something but I think it's interesting a 2 1/2 year old would say Michael instead of Mike, which I think would be easier to say than Michael.

There is a third option, perhaps he is connected as soul group to soul who is planning on coming as sister in law's baby, and who was previously known as Michael. This soul might still be communicating with him or it was communicated/agreed upon before birth of nephew.
