Bella's Past Life

Hi, I'm very excited to be able to understand my daughter and know that I'm not the only one dealing with a very special child.

My daughter Isabella is 4 years and a half and one day in July at about 4 pm her brother Peter was sleeping and she comes to the living room really sad and says:" I miss my older brother" and I tell her Peter will wake up any minute now don't worry.. She looks at me and says "not Peter my other older brother from my other mommy and daddy" I was speechless but went ahead and asked her to explain to me what other parents and brother so she tells me " we lived all together in a house my mommy, daddy, my older brother and 2sisters and my grandma and one night when we were sleeping the house caught on fire and we all died and I really miss my older brother he use to play with me and loved me alot" So I kept asking her how was the house and she said we had a big big yard and the house was big". The other day at a friends house she told her friend " my sister was very nice and we played dolls all the time" my husband looked at me all puzzled he did remember about her family so he let it go and let her talk and we explained to our friends and now here I am thanking God that there is somebody out there with answers on this.

Hi Bella's mom, welcome to the forum, and thank you for sharing Isabella's experience :)

I'm going to move your post into a thread on it's own, where hopefully it will attract more attention.

It can be upsetting when our children sometimes speak of other "mommy's and daddy's" with sadness in their eyes, but it is far more common than you think, and it doesn't mean that she loves you any less. As she gets older, she will gradually forget about the past, and become more focussed on her present. But in the meantime, it's a great idea to write down every little comment that she makes, and when she does, to reassure her that she's very much loved and wanted by the family she has now.

Have you read either of Carol's books? There's loads of helpful information in there to help you deal with Isabella's past life memories, and there's also a small thread here that might interest you.

Welcome to the Forum, please feel free to ask any questions, and please keep us up to date with Isabella.

Wow, that's an amazing story! Thanks for sharing it with us, and thanks especially for listening to Bella and not simply dismissing her the way I imagine many children in that predicament are. I'm sure that really help them, to know they have someone they can trust to talk to about it.

Thank you for sharing and welcome!

Please keep us updated on anything else your daughter shares! Because you listen to her, she will likely remember and share more.

Welcome Bella's mommy,

Please do keep us posted. If I can be of assistance, do not hesitate to ask. I hope you keep a journal of her memories. Someday you'll look back and be glad you did.
