I've meant to ask this before, but I haven't. However, because of something I just experienced today, I have decided I need to ask.
Since I was possibly too young to actually know what reincarnation was, I've contemplated the possibility of it. When my dad explained to me that he almost had another sibling, but my grandmother miscarried, I couldn't understand that my father was another entity - I kept insisting that he was the child, that he'd just gone back into the womb and waited a few more years.
However, I feel like I've had so many theories on who I was, it's now all distorted. I was so sure I was a slave girl, then that idea sort of faded. Then I was someone who killed her sister on accident, sort of - the details weren't worked out, but I was sure of it. Then I was sure I was some sort of 1980's activist who died partly due to a rebellion or something (then it became an illness related to smoking.) Just recently, I passed a high school, and I felt attatched to it. And I decided I was very possibly linked to it, again from the 1980's. There's been stuff in between too, theories and things.
The thing is, why am I thinking up all these theories? I don't know what's actually got truth and what is just my mind making up stories. I don't know if they're all true and doubt just boxes them away, if I'm confused, or if I don't have any accurate memories and I just read reincarnation stories too much. Is it unhealthy to wonder too much? I do try and take everything with a grain of salt, but I've come so close to being sure.
Any advice? :/ And if this post is too blog-ish or whatever, feel free to delete and message me personally.
Afterthought: I do think that I've always striven to understand why I am the way I am. I have some very peculiar quirks. For instance, I hate smoking - always have. One time a character on a TV show I was watching smoked (it was a Very Special Episode
), and I actually fled the room in tears. * Yet once in a while for reasons I cannot explain, I think about cigarettes and have an urge to smoke. Why on earth is that? And I have really weird fears that don't make sense. (So weird I don't even want to say what they are - too revealing of my "true identity" per se, although if you'd like me to PM you I can.) I don't know if this has anything to do with it.
* Clarification: I was about nine or something.
