I am a newspaper reporter and freelance journalist in New Jersey, USA, and am seeking cases of reincarnation from the East Coast or Midatlantic area of the US for research. If you have reason to believe that you (or your child) can support a claim of past life memories with at least anecdotal evidence, please share your story with me at aegea_l@yahoo.com.

Thanks for your consideration.

Welcome Dianne

For basic info -

2: based on or consisting of reports or observations of usually unscientific observers.

Are you writing an article for a newspaper - or are you working on a book?

Do the members who contact you have to use their real names for the article/book?

Just a few questions I thought that might cross their minds. ;)

my project

This is for a book. It is a topic of great interest to me, and I'd like very much to work with someone who has a credible story to tell. Initially, I'm searching for someone in my "neck of the woods" because I hope to interview him or her, if that person is agreeable. Of course, I'll keep an open mind about interest further afield.
My intention it to help someone research the threads of his or her past life, documenting as we go, with the goal of presenting a compelling tale that will improve people's perception of reincarnation in the U.S. It is still met by most with skepticism, I fear. I am also taking out ads locally but hope your forum may be helpful.
I would not require that anyone use a real name to contact me. At some point, should we remain in contact and feel we can work together on this project, we might discuss how to proceed with regard to names.
Thanks for your interest. Aegea

was he american?

I am writing you from far away but it may be interesting from your research. I have a three years old son who shows signs of remembering his past life. When he was around 1, he replied to me one day in english. I started to talk to him in english and we carried a dialog in babytalk and english. He said he speaks english and he could understand what I said. Since then I am watching him. When he started to talk Turkish he made mistakes that a native english speaker makes when he learns turkish. He cuts off the final letter in the turkish "yes" as if he'd say "yeah". He also learns english with a great speed.

Yesterday, we had a fog. We couldn't see the bridge. He said where is the "Golden" Bridge. I was shocked. I said "which golden bridge, do you mean Golden Gate?" He said yes, I said "Do you know that bridge? What color is it?" He said "red" and in english  I want to find out more about it. Is there a way for it without a hypnosis? Would the birthdate and time help? Can anybody help me?

Seden's son

Seden, sorry I am so long in replying. I have been working for my newspaper and freelancing for a magazine. Between that and Thanksgiving holiday, I have not been online much at all.

Your story about your son is very interesting and much like stories I have heard from other people. He is three years old now?

Toward ruling out sources for his behavior and comments other than a past life, I would ask a couple of questions: I see you are fluent in English. Is this your first or second language and is it possible your son picked up any of the language from you? Does he show any signs of being psychic? In other words, could he be speaking English because he is psychicly picking up the language from you, since you understand it, rather than being able to speak it because of a past-life memory? Are there any other sources of the English language (neighbors, TV, radio, etc.) to which he is regularly exposed that could contribute?

If not, you might consider asking him other questions related to California, such as: does he know anything about being by the ocean? When he next says something to you that sounds like he is relating information from a past life, ask him something simple such as his name or the name of a playmate or pet. If you sound as though you are completely supportive and believe him, he might be able to remember things longer than most children do. You might also ask him to draw you a picture of something he remembers from the "other time." Three-year-olds don't draw very well, but it might jog his memory or provide you with information.

In my experience talking with other people, it is most helpful for parents of small children who have past-life memories to be accepting and not dismissive. Don't pressure him because I don't think these memories are always "at the surface" but turn up from time to time, perhaps when something reminds the child of them. Good luck! I hope to hear how you make out. Aegea

Hi Dianne,

Thank you for answering.

Ege picked up English in the recent years from my classes in preschool, but when he was a baby he didn't hear any english except maybe some TV. But he is incredible picking up words.

My biggest surprise is about the "Golden" Bridge. I waited for your answer before I do a small test with him. I am planning to find some bridge pictures, the Golden Gate among them and ask him which one is the Golden Bridge. I lived in California for a year, twenty years ago. So; I may be able to ask him questions about it as you suggested. Both of my kids show physic signs anyway, (So do I) therefore I don't know how to distinguish between psychic and past life. I'll let you know about the results.

As far as I know, the buddist monks can calculate past lives. Do you have any idea about it? We don't have many monks here as you may guess :)

Re: Ege's memories:

I'm as in the dark as you about how Buddists calculate past lives. I just know I don't trust most bargain-basement regressions.

Even though your son may understand English due to past life memory, my inclination is to discount it as evidence because he has had some exposure and is, as you say, very clever. (I'm not saying it's not a past-life memory, only that his unexpected ability with English could be attributible to normal causes. As a reporter, I would need more.)

However, his skill at English combined with other evidence - say being able to show you which bridge is the Golden Gate Bridge from a selection - would make a stronger case.

I'd be interested to know how you make out and also if Ege ever says anything about members of his family that he remembers in other relationships. (As in when a child recalls having been a mommy, or something similar.)

Good luck! aegea

To Aegea and Seden

I saw your thoughts and concerns here and I offer the following along with my own story about my son in hopes it may help you.

From my experience I have found that past lives manifest for specific reasons, more or less involving "stuck attention" . Whether an unsettling past death, traumatic occurence or un-resolved problem / worry .

You could say the the past metal image pictures and past thoughts of the person get stuck in present time, much the same as in a current life memory of a bad experience can "hang around" and effect a person emotionally and psycho-somatically until it has been more or less resolved.

I do not think it important or well advised to "stir up" past lives
just for curiousity or to try and find out more about them ( ie What was your name? , Where did you live ? etc. ) then is necessary for their resolution.

I realize this from the following personal event and my continued study in the area.

My son who was 3 or so at the time was often times telling me he had been or was cut , saying "dad ...I got cuts" As he said this he would make slicing motions , both, across the stomach and using both hands would demonstrate being slashed up each side of the groin area at both crooks of his legs.

He also had a strange response when seeing any knives and oddly policemen. which he was quite obviously in awe of, and sirens too as I remember.

This of course did not make sense to me until later.

When one day I had time with him alone and sat him up on my chest , as I lay down on the sofa, and I asked him point blank "So....what is happening with you ?"

He immediately looked down for a minute as if he was recalling something, I sat silent and then he just blurted out "dad ...a car died me"

I thought to myself ..what? but then I just said "oh yeah! a car died you?" He re-confirmed it . Then I said " ok ... then what happened?

Next he proceeded to tell me and demonstrate in the simple words and re-enactments of a small child how a police officer came and picked him up and gave him a "hug" ( I presume he picked him up and was actually listening to his chest for any breath, this is the impression I got since policemen usually do not give out hugs to people)

He then said " he layed me back down and draw (ed) paint around my arm" - my son actually held out his arm and made a drawing outline motion around his arm and down his torso ( I interpeted this to be that the officer was outlining his body on the pavement with paint )

He then said he ( the officer) picked me up and put in a bed and take (ed) me to the doctors" .

At this point we get into what I believe no child could ever know and that is he started describing in extreme detail and in actual re-enactment the proceedure of a full autopsy.

He demonstrated how he was cut across the stomach and his organs were removed, how he was slashed on each side of the goin- I presume to bleed out the body, he then also described and demonstrated in exact detail a full cranial cut across the forehead showing how the top of the skull was removed and then as he put it "glued back on" he then described having his eyes sewn shut as well. And that was the end of his recall.

This is obviously a vivid recall of a tramatic event for this being.
I had him go through it a few more times asking him "so...tell me again what happened? he did and then all of the sudden he mentioned to me "Moms getting pizza , dad !" so I let it go at that since he seemed completely oriented in his present life.

The point here is respect the being and his story and do not try to invalidate it or " prove it" by trying to find out more then is given or necessary. Just listen and acknowledge and bring relief to the suffering of the person , be it child or adult.

Best Wishes to both of you.

Theta, very interesting story. Did he seemed traumatized while telling it, or matter-of-fact?
I have a good friend whose daughter would frequently, while young, stop playing and say things like "Remember the time when I was your mommy?" She mentioned various curious things that my friend enjoyed hearing about and attributed to past life recall for lack of any other explanation. Their conversations did not appear to stir up spiritual or emotional traumas and none of what the girl mentioned gave her the impression that there was an issue to be worked out, although there's no telling. This was a long time ago. The girl is a woman now, and those memories were only with her for a short time.
My friend's daughter may have simply been remembering because she could. It is possible that very young kids are just in a place where they can recall without there necessarily being an urgency regarding the cause of the memory, although -- as in your son's experience -- these can surely be memories of trauma.
I personally would take each incidence of past-life recall in a child, or adult for that matter, on an individual basis before deciding if it was appropriate or ill advised to ask a question. Like you, I would be calmly accepting of information that was offered, particularly if the kid seemed to want to say it, and avoid reacting with disbelief. aegea

My daughter showed signs of reincarnation from birth

that could not be explained as having been exposed to it previously. The first sign was when I brought her home and gave her a pacifier and she took it out and threw it across the floor and stuck her thumb in her mouth. I never gave her a pacifier again. She was also very frightened of loud sounds and would shake from them.

This is going to sound crazy, but my daughter talked when she was a month old! I am not crazy and it wasn't just me who experienced this. My sister, my mother and my daughter's father both had my daughter tell them hey. My mother walked in one day and said, "Hey", to her and she said, "Hey" back. My mother and I ran out of the room shaking. My mother and I returned to say hey again and she repeated it. Not just that but a few days later she said it again to both my sister and her father. Not only did my daughter do this but my niece did the same thing only she said "hi" at a month old. This only lasted a few weeks and when she was 2 months old she acted more like a baby. But, she was eating baby cereal by 2 1/2 months and was wanting to stand when she was 4 months old. I even got her a walker and later a bouncer so she could stand. She said her first words at 6 months, her first word was Elmo. By the time she was 1 she was talking regularly and even counting. Before she was 6 months old though, she would be able to see me in another room right in front of her, just a few feet away and she would scream to the top of her lungs.

When she was 1 yrs old she would walk up to strangers for them to pick her up, she didn't have any fear of strangers and no real attachment to me. I used to have to pull her away from other people. When she was 2 she started telling my mother that she had been her mother too which caught us off guard. She was confused about the fact that her grandmother was called 'Gran' instead of mommy. When she was 2 1/2 she had her first sleep-walking nightmare in which she jumped up out of bed and ran to the door-(all while sleepwalking)-screaming 'Mommy don't leave me". Now, I had been connected so much to this child that people called her my twin. They didn't expect to see me without her! So, when she did that a chill went up my spine and I grabbed her up and put her into the bed with me. After that she became very clingy and this continued until she was nearly 5. She would sit on my lap and follow me everywhere. She didn't want me to go anywhere without her and had to keep me in her sites, this from a child that was constantly with me except to go to school.

But, also around the time she was 3 and 4 she started saying in public that I was the 'best mommy she ever had' and I would say, I'm the only mommy you ever had. She still says that to this day...but at 4 she started telling me about her other mommy and used to tell me how much better this mommy was to me. She would make it seem like this woman was absolutely wonderful and it bothered me to hear it. But, I felt there was something else to the story so I would ask her about it. She never seemed bothered by it at all and then finally oneday she told me that this mother had locked her and her sister in the closest and would do this often. My daughter is 7 and occasionally will talk about this mother not being as nice as me.

She also would talk about a different life in which my mother was both of our mother's and how I had gotten sick and died first and then she died. She would say that Gran-(my mom)-would cook for us but that we died. Everyone that knows us always comments that we don't act like mother and daughter but that we act like sisters. My daughter even has a problem with the fact that she is a kid now. She tends to talk to me as if she is my age and even asked when she was 5, how come she can't have a baby now. She wanted to have a baby and get married. I told her she was just 5 yrs old and couldn't have a baby yet, she needed to not even think of that right now.

Recently at age 6 and now 7, my daughter would talk about the 80's as if she knows about it. She will mention that certain clothes look like their from the 80's. She also joked with a guy that he liked music from the 80's. I have no ideal who my daughter was in the 80's, I was born in '74 so we didn't know eachother then. I had just died from my past life in '68...I don't have a memory of knowing her then but it's evident from how I feel about her and how she reacts to me that we are not mother and daughter but sisters, I just don't know when.

I know alot of people like to be skeptical and probably are reading this laughing and calling me crazy, but upon my grave this actually happened this way. It's difficult to tell anyone this because people assume your crazy, but my family and I often talk about this.

Continuation....

Then there is my sister's daughter who is the reincarnation of my sister's husbands mom. His mom used to joke that she would come back as his daughter and his mom was murdered by his father in front of him by his dad. When my sister had her daughter she had an unbelievable presence and even balled up her fist and tried to hit me in the face when she was 2 months old. When she got older she started telling everyone her name...her father is name Robben-(Rob)- and she is named Robbyn, but she started telling her father and mother that her name was Bobby. His mother is named Bobby. She is 4 yrs old and is just now calling herself Robbyn. She has said quite a few things about her past life as Bobby, but I can't remember it all. But, when she was born everyone in his family said she was Bobby. They even held her and said she was their mother, their sister, their grandmother. She doesn't act like a normal little girl, she is very protective of her younger brother. Rob has even stated that this was his mother and even had to tell his daughter that in this life, he was in charge of her.

This is the truth and fortunately in my family we all believe in reincarnation so the stories and strange experiences we have experienced are much easier to accept amongst us. We don't chalk it up as our imagination and just chalk it up to something strange that we will never discuss...

So, there it is, my story, as incrdible as it is but true. Absolutely true!!!

leasmom, hi.
I can't write here much right now as I am taking on new responsibilities at work, so only check in now and then. Sorry.
Your daughter's tale is interesting, although much of what you describe sounds pretty normal to me. Once she got older and began telling you and your family of memories, it sounds like something's really going on. Your description of her recollecting having been related to you in other ways, and your own mom, seems to be typical of what I hear and sounds very true. I'm glad to know she does not, or did not, seem disturbed by the discussions. Some of her memories seem specific enough to write down in a journal in case she tells you more one day, without pushing her. How old is she now? Five? I'd surely keep a record of all of this; most likely you've done that.
I'm not so sure about the rest of your family's story, only because it's harder for me to distinguish the veracity of adult's tales of past lives. Kids just don't make that stuff up when they're so young. I'm not saying it's not true. If you don't mind my asking, are you in the US and if so, whereabouts? You could answer privately, if you wish. Thanks, aegea

My dd is 7 now and she has pretty much forgotten her past life

, she brings it up only occasionally now. No, she never seemed disturbed by it while awake, except the clinginess. While sleep, she does have sleep walking episodes.

As far as my niece goes... The adults only stated that she was their mom from birth, but my niece stated herself that she was Bobby. The adults never stated that they were reincarnated, but that she was their mom.

I thank you for your reply. I'm glad that I got to tell the story about it. Thanks.

leasmom, you're right. I misunderstood what you wrote the first time I read it. Still would be curious to know if you're in my neck of the woods, globally speaking, as I am hoping to chronicle something interesting that has the possibility of being traced or supported by documents. At any rate, certainly seems like your family is open-minded. I wonder if that is why you are aware of two babies having been reincarnated? I'm sure these things go on, but you've got to be willing to see it. Thanks, aegea

Yes, fortunately two families believe in it

Our family and my sister's husband's family. Recently, my niece Robbyn who is 4 has been giving my sister the flux. She's told my sister that her name was not Randall that her last name was something else and that Robbyn was Mrs. Randall. My sister told her her name was Randall. Robbyn insisted that my sister was not a true Randall, which is true, it's my sister's married name. She understands why her daughter said she is Mrs. Randall, because she was...Bobby Nell Randall in her past life, the mother of Rob, my sister's husband. Also recently, Robbyn told my sister that she thinks she's a mom. She doesn't know why but that she feels like she's a mom...she's 4!

Also, the last time she visited her dad's family-only twice now, she was 3 yrs old and Robbyn immediately spoke to the members of her family as if she was familiar with them. She refuses to call her Aunt Carol, Auntie. She just calls her Carol, which is odd to them because she calls everyone else Auntie. But, Carol was Bobby's first born child, so they believe that's why she doesn't call her Auntie.

She also had mannerisms that spooked the ex-husband of Bobby. He saw the way she was acting and said that she acts exactly like his former wife Bobby. Rob, Robbyns dad, has also seen mannerisms that have spooked him too, the way she turns in the mirror and tilts her head, is the exact way his mom did, etc.
His mom used to tell everyone that she would come back as his daughter. She was killed by Rob's father in front of him. She had several children, a very large family but Rob was the only one that had a separate father.

I have witnessed my niece's bossiness and telling my sister what she should be doing and how she should discipline her 2 yr old brother. My sister is frustrated with her because Robbyn keeps trying to tell her what to do. Recently, we were all in the car and my sister told my daughter a very simple explanantion of what a heart-attack is, because my daughter had used the word without knowing what it meant and Robbyn had asked what it meant. Well, my sister gave a very simple, kid-friendly answer and Robbyn said, "That's not true. That's not what it means." My sister insisted that it was, but Robbyn said that it was not the meaning. My sister asked her how she knew and she said she didn't know how she knew.

Unfortunately, we live in Colorado. We are orginally from Michigan and this is where my sister's husbands family is as well. My sister is dealing with the reincarnation of two of her husband's family members as her children. Bobby, who said she would be his daughter and has stated that she is...and Pop-pop, Rob's grandfather, who chased women and was an elderly man. They're son Jameel, sucks on his teeth, walks like an elderly man, has mannerisms like an elderly man that is not consistant with a 2 yr old. He likes to have his clothing as a t-shirt underneath his shirt and his pants pulled up to his waist. He also has been very interested in women's body parts, even at 1 yr's old, often squeezing them and making comments, like "OOh, Mommy...". He has been known to rub on women and sneak to look at women. He also likes being catered too by women. His personality is not as strong as his sister's but everyone calls him old and says he is definately an old spirit. They believe he's Pop-pop.

I fortunately do not have my ex's relatives as my daughter, so that is better for me in a way because I can deal with her as my child. But, as family and strangers have pointed out, my daughter and I act more like sisters than mother and daughter, even the way she speaks to me and I respond to her. I've had my daughter's teacher pull me aside and tell me I needed to act more like the mom-LOL! My problem with dd is that she thinks she is older and able to do what I can. She also doesn't recognize that I am her mom, she does think we're sisters and has even told people we were sisters. So for me, dealing with a 7 yr old who thinks she's on the same level as me, and who doesn't understand that she needs to take me seriously is hard to deal with, but it's better than dealing with your mother-in-law in your daughter's form!!! I told my sister not to worry, when she gets older she'll start forgetting to a point that she is Bobby. So, that brought some comfort to my sister.
