My son is 4 yrs old. Over the past few months he has been mentioning a cousin Lisa. It sounds like cousin Lisa advises him on a lot of things. But she's never there with him, he just says things like "my cousin Lisa says ......". Once I asked him where this cousin Lisa is and he took the globe and pointed at Africa. Many days later, I repeated the question and he pointed at Africa again. I was extremely surprised because at the time, he was having trouble finding the country he lives in. So how he managed to point at the same place twice was very surprising. Then I asked him what she looks like. I asked him pointing out names of his friends of different ethnic background whether she looks like each of them. Interestingly, he has a friend who is African descent (dark skin) and he said Lisa looks like him (we are South Asian). I couldn't believe it! I just found this to be very intriguing. But I haven't pushed him for any other details. Has anyone experienced anything like this? I don't think she is an imaginery friend though, in the sense, that she doesn't visit him. Any of your thoughts would be most valuable. Thank you.

Start keeping a journal and write it all down. It's like finding jigsaw puzzle pieces. It could be he is seeing ghosts or spirits. That would not be all that unusual. Remembering past lives and having psychic abilities go hand in hand.

We have had people write in with stories similar to this before. Some little kids do seem to be able to be more atuned to the 'spirit world' somehow and able to communicate somehow on an 'astral level' or similar. I'm not a bit expert on this kind of thing, but a lot of other forum members are and will no doubt find this interesting.
argonne, I have to disagree with you there slightly. I don't think remembering past lives and 'psychic abilities' go 'hand in hand'. I think remembering past lives is a perfectly natural thing and nothing to do with psychic abilities personally. Being clairvoyant, or seeing ghosts or auras etc. etc. does not have to have any relationship with past life recall in my view. I think almost anyone can do it with a bit of practice.
However, that said, perhaps those who are more likely to remember past lives, or consider the possibility that what they are experiencing has something to do with reincarnation, are those who already have an interest in esoteric things? Maybe that would explain where there is a correlation (which I admit there seems to be)?

There are many cases nadeeja. The new series Ghost Inside My Child (hate the title) has had several children who have had similar experiences. If yo get a chance look up the show and watch a few. Most are very well done. The close up of the parents faces is a little much and the music, but the stories are great.
