David's Past Lives

My son David has Down's Syndrome and is now 23 years old. In many ways he functions like a normal adult, but in other ways he is more like a five year old. His speech is limited, but he understands most of what is said to him.

Anyway, when he was about seven, I used to have dozens of muslin cloths that I used as as nappies (diapers) and bibs for foster babies. One day David completely bandaged from head to foot with these cloths a two year old girl I was fostering. He called me to come and see and there she was lying on the floor looking like an Egyptian mummy! David told me she was dead and "...smell better now." I was astonished that he seemed to know that dead bodies might not smell very nice. Some time later, I bought a book with photographs of Egyptian mummies in it. When I showed it to David he became very excited and said the book was his!

We live opposite an old church with a graveyard. He has always wanted to know who these people are; their names are important to him and for years he would ask me if they were "bandaged nicely". These days he just asks who they are. Could he have perhaps been an Egyptian embalmer?

Something else which may or may not be connected: He has almost an obsession with washing kitchen utensils and crockery with a wet cloth. He knows how to do washing up correctly and can do it very well, but he prefers to just wipe things carefully with a cloth. Having everything tidy, well ordered and clean is important to him. I never have to clean or tidy his bedroom!

I know from one of my own past life memories that David was among the followers of Jesus. He was arrested and (I am finding it very hard to write this because it upsets me) made to walk all day in bare feet with the cross-piece of a cross on his shoulders and thorns on his head. He died of exhaustion before they could crucify him. He used to have nightmares and wake up saying his feet were bleeding and that he was going to die. He has had a problem with eczema on the soles of his feet since he was about 18. Although he wears very comfortable shoes and sheepskin slippers all the time indoors, he often complains that his feet hurt. I don't think it is the eczema that causes the pain, because he has ongoing treatment from our doctor for this, which keeps it from being sore. He also has a mild eczema on his shoulders and psoriasis of his scalp. The latter is completely controlled by applications of Betnovate after each hair wash. These problems also started when he was about 18.

I constantly massage his feet, head and shoulders for him which seems to send him almost into a different state of consciousness. I have told him that he is safe with me and that no one is going to hurt him now.

I would be grateful for any suggestions as to how I might encourage him to let go of this awful past life experience. I am sure his problems would then disappear.

Hi Angelcat

I loved reading your post about David, as I always do

I remember you speaking about David some time ago, and he is such a special young man, and with some very clear memories. I would certainly think that his fascination and knowledge of bodies and embalming would suggest he maybe had more to do with the actual process in the past, as his knowledge and interest seem to be very much in the actual process and reasons, rather than just “knowing” about it.

You mention the link you have drawn between the past life you know of in Jesus’s time and the eczema and psoriasis he now suffers from….these problems started at 18 – could there have been a trigger to all this….maybe a catalyst that bought the memories to the surface and in doing so, bought on the symptoms he now displays???

I have loads to say, but I’m also due to be at someone else’s house right now – and I still have to move out of my own house and into the car yet…so excuse me for rushing through this…LOL…but have you ever tried talking and comforting David whilst he is asleep???…maybe reconfirming to him in his unconscious state that he is no longer in that life, and now he has you here to protect and love him and that you will not ever let him come to any harm??? By connecting directly with the unconscious state like this, it is amazing how we can “re-programme” ourselves, mind and thoughts.

Well I really have to run now, but I’ll be back later

Hi Kelly,

Thank you for your comments. I forgot to say that David also thinks people should be laid out in death with their arms crossed across their chest - Egyptian fashion! Because we live opposite a church, there are sometimes funerals going on there and every time David sees a hearse with a coffin inside, he shows me how he thinks the person is lying inside with their arms crossed and eyes closed and says "No sad....going happiness now!"

I can't think of anything that might have triggered the skin problems when he was 18. However, it might have been the stress of leaving his special school and going to a college. He was at college for three years on a program of further education designed for his special needs and enjoyed it tremendously. He now goes to work-based centre every day, which he loves. He is very clever with his hands and can make everything from papier mache masks to garden furniture. He is assisted with the latter as I understand he is rather too keen with the electric saw!

I will try to reassure him when he is asleep as you suggest. Unfortunately, he is a very light sleeper and tends to wake immediately if someone enters his room, however quietly. I will try sitting with him until he falls asleep and then try.

Thanks so much for your help.

Hi Angelcat

Again I‘m breezing through the board after just getting back, so it’s 1am and I may make no sense, but I’m going to reply anyway

I think it is so touching how pure David’s view of death is…again something no doubt adopted by the Egyptians possibly, as I know from my own memories of lives there, that death was considered in a totally different light to our modern day views and perception, it was a releasement from the physical and a return to one’s true nature and self…a return to the light…not anything like the sad way we view death in our modern society as a whole nowadays, where we grieve over the physical remains, instead of realising the true releasement their soul has experienced and obtained!!!

Stress is definitely a trigger for any skin affliction like eczema or psoriasis, so it could very well have been the reason for the trigger…change is always rebelled against when we first encounter it…how we love our routines at times I couldn’t stop laughing at your comment concerning his enthusiasm with the electric saw…LOL

Well, before I start babbling too much, I’ll sign off, but before I go, I just wondered whether you have ever tried any herbal alternatives for David’s condition???…I know Benovate is the prescribed cream and treatment for such cases, but I also know through close friends and relatives who suffered eczema or psoriasis as a child, that although Benovate holds the condition back and soothes the area, it can also cause and encourage more permanent scarring….

Of course, I’m no doctor, but I know a lot of people who have found better treatments through turning to herbal alternatives alongside the prescribed medication, so I just thought I’d throw it out
