Ever scince my son learned to speak full sentences, he would ask once in while "Do you remember when I was a baby and you couldn't hear me when I was talking," or "Mommy remember when we went to the park but not the park that we always go to and there were people there that..."
I must say that I did not pay too much attention to any of this until I read a book about reincarnation. I do believe that the soul lives on, but just never thought that my child would have someone's soul, or so to speak.
He turned 4 in January and his great aunt calls him an Indigo Child. Apparently it means that these children were born "knowing" certain things.
My son also asked me the other night if I remembered the song that we sang to Baby Jesus. I said "oh, the song about when Baby Jesus was born. Away in a Manger?" Which I taught him this Christmas. He said "no mommy, the...song...we...sang...to...baby Jesus." Remember? How can I remember?
In the past couple of months his memory has gotten more clear about things that I remember nothing about. On occasion, he is timid of going to places by himself because "those guys might be there." His words. When I ask what guys, he simply answers, "you know, those guys." I asked him if they were imaginary and he said no, that they were real but they don't like here any more. I do not believe that he is seeing or sensing spirits.
He also comes up with words that I have not heard before and also words that no one has said around him. Like when he said the other day, "...you know, Hypothetically speaking." He is four! And there are more words where those came from. His great aunt believes that he, in another life, was someone of high intellect. He is very smart, but most children are.

If you have any positive feed back, please contact me.

Hi Karen

What a fountain of joy and memories…I wonder, are you keeping a journal at all and noting down all these things that your son is saying???? It would be a shame to forget them all....

One important thing to remember is not to ever let him feel like he is wrong or “making up stories” or imagining it all, when he brings these things up (as I’m sure you don’t), simply explain, that you do not remember it as clearly as him, and ask him instead to continue, so maybe you CAN remember again…don’t use leading questions, let him do the leading, just add little prompts such as “When was that then?”…”And then what happened…”

One way of thinking about it, is by remembering the first time, your child ever gave you a paint splat picture with bits of pasta stuck in the middle and some glitter, maybe a few crayon marks here and there and the pride on his face at his creation. Remember how you got him to explain to you what it was, without letting him know that you didn’t actually know….how you played along, and saw the big dragon and the little house…and most of all, his face shining as he knows his mum can see the same things he can

Kelly,

Yes, he coes up with a lot of good stories about things. He remembers thing that I know I have never showed, told about or explianed to him. He has a facination with geology and has collected rocks since he was 14 months old. When someone leaves our house he picks out a rock to give them too. He loves dinosaurs (like most children). He could always pronounce their names rather well. Last year when he had just turned three, I brought him to a geological/fossil museum and he had the curator busy for over an hour, talking about rock, minerals and fossils. He was checking them out under the micoscope and he knew what certain ones were. He said a few months ago that he wants to work 'inside' volcanoes when he gets bigger.

I am righting all of this down in his baby book.

Thanks,

Karen

Hi Karen,

I have a thought for you.

When my son Daniel was around nine years old, and after doing extensive past life regressions myself, I decided to try something new. Daniel was in a rather calm mood for the day, and I asked him if he wanted to meditate with me...his eyes lit up, and said,"yah what’s that?"

I had done most of my meditating when he was in school or somewhere else due to the noisy household I had at the time. I told him it was a form of relaxing, that the light in his inner vision could take him to any place in his mind that he would like to go.

Daniel talked of the light when he was younger in his third eye, so he was familiar with it. We set a timer for fifteen minutes so that we both would know when the time was up and he agreed to lay quiet and still until the bell rang. We both laid down on my bed, and I held his hand. I had put on some Tibetan Bell music and told him that the sound of the music would help him to relax and to watch for anything he might “see“ when relaxing.

It was a beautiful experience, he laid perfectly still for 15 minutes, his breathing was shallow and he held my hand softly. I went into an altered state very fast, as he must have too. The inner light was beautiful and the unconditional love I felt between us was beyond words.

When the buzzer went off, he sat up slowly and looked at me with the most amazing amount of wonder in his eyes. He said, "Did you see all the fog mommy? Wasn't it cool? That barn was awesome we had so much fun!" I got chills, and tears in my eyes because I had seen and experienced the same thing. In more detail, but his confirmation to me, before I said anything was truly a gift. I began to see that we can “share” memories with our children and with others.

What I experienced was the mid 1600‘s, in England, it was cool outside, and very foggy. He was my best friend and we were playing in a barn near my house, I knew we had spent many childhood days playing, working and hiding in that barn. He was a mischievous little boy of about seven and I of about eight. My name was Kayln. His name was Ian. Funny thing was that I could see at this point how our relationship was similar to my life when he was my little sister Alishia, some 100 years later.

My point? Meditating with our children can bring unseen gifts, for both the parent and the child.

Thanks for the input!

I'll have to attempt this. Of course, I'd have to convince him that he would have to lay silently for a while. He is quite active.

Thanks again. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Take care,

Karen

Sounds like in your past life your son could have been a geologist and/or paleontologist who studied rocks(volcanic ones it sounds like from what he said about volcanoes)and then probably started finding fossils and became interested in that. From how you describe him he could very well have been a scientist in his last life.

Very interesting Karen! I'm anxious to hear more of what you have to share. And such wonderful and informative posts from everyone else.
