Don't know what to think

I have always been skeptical of this kind of thing. Until...
I had a vision the night my son was concieved. He came to me and told me it was time and asked if he could come and be my baby. He looked like a three or four year old chld in my vision. He was with an older, beared, silent man, who protectivley had an arm on his shoulder.
I think my son would have been born on my dead mother's birthday had I not induced labor. (Part of the reason I induced labor was fear of this). I didn't get along with my mother. I left her when I was 15 and never reconciled. She killed herself four years later.
My son has her eyes.
How could he be her? What would that mean? I mean, my mother and I were not well bonded or close. She abused me and I hated her.
WHere my son and I get along very well.
Any insight/ideas/opionions out there?

Hi Amanda,

Welcome to the forum. If your mother came back as your child, perhaps it is to love you in a way she could never do before. After all, the most unconditional love is that of a child for their parents.

Dear Amanda,

Couldn't your son be someone else too?
After all, having someone's eyes when you share a large part of his or her DNA can't exactly be called spectacular I'm afraid.
I think you should take your announcing experience much more seriously than the fact that he has some physical trait which reminds you of your mother. It would even be very strange if he had NOT!

To what extent could your "obsession" with your mother, if that's what it should be called, influencing your thoughts about your son?

Don't you know anyone else your announcing dream reminds you of? Perhaps some young child you used to know and who died around the age of 3 or 4?

It is quite possible that your son is indeed your mother reborn and then Susie would seem to be right about the purpose of his being born with you. However, it might be a good idea to look at other possibilities as well.

Best wishes,

I obviously am looking for other answers...
My son was somebody (something) before he was my baby. I know this because of the vision. What we know to be true is what we directly experience through our sense. I experienced my son as an entity before he was conceived, so I know that.
As for who/what he was, I don't know that.
You're right about the eyes being incidental. It's the eyes combined with the time of his birth. Not exactly proof, very true.
I don't know any small children who died. I think that he appeared as a three/four year old because in my mind that is "child". Get it?
I am a skeptic by nature. My son is three and this is the first time I have really discussed these issues with someone else.
And it's not polite to say a person is obssessed with their dead mother.
Also, it was not a dream, I was wide awake. It was during conception, which is difficult to sleep through.

Dear Amanda,

Sorry if I hurt your feelings! "Obsession" was meant in a psychological sense (which is not the same as pathologizing your preoccupation), not at all to ridicule you in any way. Sorry if that wasn't obvious for you.

There usually is a connection between the form a person takes on during the announcing experience (often an announcing dream) and either his or her past life or the present one.

You're right about the "vision". I had taken that too broadly, in the sense that a dream could also sometimes be called a "vision". Some of the people I have studied find it hard to distinguish the two. But you're actually wrong on another point: You had not told us the vision occurred DURING conception, but just "the night my son was concieved", which usually lasts a bit longer... Anyway, maybe that helps you to understand I had no other intention of hurting you either.

Best wishes,

Titus

I'd still like to add the following:

If I were in your position, I would certainly be preoccupied with my mother too and I even expect I would be "obsessed" by her. As a matter of fact, I've even be "obsessed" (in this sense) sometimes by people who have not died.

So you can be sure I really sympathize with you.

Hey, no harm done.
Net communication (any communication really) being imperfect.
As for how he looked in my vision-it's much the same as how he looks now. Although that could be because I cut his hair in the style it was in the vision. In the vision, he did not look male or female. He still has that problem. Most people assume he is a girl, no matter how I dress him.
I have recently become aware of the idea that children can spontaneously remember past lives.
He may have said some things like this. If you're not paying attention, it would be hard to know.
He has said that when he grows up he will be a woman, I'm not sure if that counts.
He has said that he used to be a girl.
I need to pay more attetion.
Anyways- what are the floating theories as to why a person chooses certain parents (as I am sure he has done).

Thanks for being so generous, Amanda!

I see! That might definitely indicate a "sex change" from one life to another.

Yes, of course, it does count. It's even very typical of sex change cases.

I think the main theory would be that in general both the child and his parents would benefit from it. But such a benefit may sometimes seem obscure from a everyday perspective.
In several cases there also seems to be a more personal attraction between the spirit and its new parents, which is founded in emotional relations dating from one of the previous lives of the spirit in question.

I gather from several accounts that souls are sometimes given a choice among several "candidates".

Keep us informed please!

Titus
