Gave up the Ghost

With these words he let fall a heavy bottle of Kirschenwasser which, dropping precisely upon the crown of my head, caused me to imagine that my brains were entirely knocked out. Impressed with this idea, I was about to relinquish my hold and give up the ghost with a good grace, when I was arrested by the cry of the Angel, who bade me hold on. Edgar Allan Poe
I can't recall exactly when I heard this phrase (give up the ghost) in relation to my 'near-death' experience as a teenager - but I felt this expression grasped the process I went through. Something came out of me and the best word I felt people could identify with was 'ghost.' This word seemed to intimidate people because of the stigma attached so I started using the word "casper." (Someone even said it reminded them of "Poe" when I talked about my NDE.) This word seemed a little more 'friendly', personal and intimate. I used this word more for myself (in an effort to tame the conversations about my NDE) because people would take the conversation in a different direction based on 'fear' if I used the word 'ghost.'

When I was 'outside' of my human body - there was a stage of evolving into the 'mindset' of the 'spiritual mind' and shedding the 'human identity.' This is when intelligence, knowledge and wisdom beyond light years of understanding became the norm.

At one point, I wanted to know what happened to this 'inner' and hidden 'part' of me when I woke back up in a human body and looked outward at the material world again. One day I was standing with a co-worker and his 'casper' merged out of him and started talking to me. I freaked out at the sight of this and I turned to look at a large group of people sitting nearby. I saw all their 'caspers' merging out of their bodies to wave hello to me. It was a separate 'identity' and a different mindset. I went home and looked in the mirror and saw my own 'casper' merge out of the body and bid me ado.

It was during this stage in my life that I was not only able to to speak and communicate with spirits of 'departed souls, I was also able to speak directly to the spirits of those who were still living in a human body as well. (See: Afterlife Communique.) I was getting very confused by this - especially when I was with family members who 'condemned' communication with 'departed spirits.' I found myself saying to them,

"Your confusing me. Your casper is telling me one thing and your telling me another. Make up your dang mind."

My uncle was the biggest critic when it came communication with departed spirits - and his own 'spirit' would pop out and say, "don't listen to him. He don't know what he is talking about. His mind and perspective is wrapped up in fear of such things." My uncle couldn't wrap his mind around the idea that his 'ghost' would be able to communicate with me - if he was still alive.

The human mind was 'deaf, dumb, blind, unintelligent, and very ignorant of spiritual knowledge. If the spirit was alive in a 'human body - there was always an opposition. If the spirit was 'free' of the human body (as in the case of the departed) there was no opposition. I didn't get as confused when I spoke to them because they wouldn't have a 'dark shadow' (human counterpart) trying to speak to me in opposition of spiritual matters.

In 1981, I found myself standing next to a couple of guys and my 'casper' merged into the past life stream of their 'caspers.' In my 'near-death experience' - this was something you could do with ease. (The only other NDE'er I have heard give testimony of this is Nanci Danison.) I was not used to this from a human perspective and I had to 'bury' the memory of it fast and quick because I felt it would drive a normal mind insane to have that much information floating around in the head. Of course, it led me to ask - why in the world my young friend didn't have a genius IQ with all that past experience hidden underneath his inner belt? This was during a stage when I was talking to a lot of people about reincarnation. (Their own spirits knew everything there was to know about it - and then some.) I had no direct insight to my own past lives - so - I was studying the topic from a different angle - and this experience didn't answer questions as much as it made the topic even more hard to understand....from a human perspective.

There was one episode where there was a transporter malfunction and Kirk was split into two people, his good self and his bad self. Both Kirk's were unable to function without the other.
Reading this reminded me of that stage in my life. I didn't look at is as 'good-bad' as much as I looked at is as 'dark-light.' The physical body and mind was 'in the dark' and the 'spiritual body and mind' was immersed in the light. One was 'in the knowledge' and the other was 'out of knowledge.' I felt the 'light/spirit' was the 'teacher' and the 'dark/human' was the student. I felt we all had a 'dual heritage.' One of 'flesh and blood' and the other of 'spirit and light.'

If that is the case, why does it seem that there hasn’t been much if any improvement in the spiritual and moral development here overall?
When people asked me what I thought of human's overall in the early 80's when I had sight of all this - - I said, " I think we as humans are as stubborn as mules. You would have an easier time leading a stubborn mule up a narrow passage of a steep canyon - than try and lead the human being to spiritual truths." (My own self included.)

The "Kirk" scenario is what I felt when I saw and heard people talking. The 'norm' was a 'division' that was going on - and the two 'identities' were separate from one another. I felt, due to this separation - evil had an open door to manifest itself (to one degree or another) in the world we live. I didn't think an evil 'nature' came inherit in the 'spirit' or 'soul' as much as it came from the 'ignorance' of spirit - which was inherit in the nature of the flesh. I didn't think that we inherited 'human weakness' in spirit (reincarnation) as much as we inherited 'spiritual strengths.'

Sincerely,
DKing
