Genetic Memory

My daughter has had memories of things and people that existed before she was born.. She has told me of times she played tea party with this really nice lady who she decribed in detail and resembled her Greatgrandmother, who she had never even seen a picture of since the woman had died 30 years before her birth. She's also talked to my son who was killed when my daughter was six.. She's pointed out items that resemble things we had in our family 20-30 years before her birth and have long since been disgarded.. Like seeing a couple of bicyles she said were JUST like her brothers old bikes. Even told me where I bought the bikes some 20 years prior to her birth.. I'm leaning more to this being genetic memory but would welcome your thoughts on this matter.. thanks..

Like you, I have considered genetic memory as an explanation for the things you describe. I like a scientific explanation myself! I'm afraid I don't have the answers, but I do know of a magazine that regularly looks at these sorts of issues. it's called NEW SCIENTIST and is published in the UK. They have a web site that I visit frequently just to keep up with current studies and discoveries. Many blessings~Moonbeam

You comment gives me an opportunity to talk about genetic memory. (Don't take this personally.)

We hear about genetic memory often as an explanation for past life memories. Genetic memory is totally inadequate to explain the majority of these. If you trace the reproductive history of the people in the chain, you will see where it falls apart. If your daughter were to have a genetic memory of your grandmother's recognition of your son, the grandmother would have had to give birth to your daugter's line *after* knowing your son.

Also, how does genetic memory work? I tell people that it's really just a pseudo-scientific way of saying, "There must be a normal explanation other than reincanation" because the mechanics of genetic memory are as mysterious--if they exist at all--as reincarnation.

Maybe more mysterious, because we have hundreds of cases that prove reincarnation, but none that I know of that prove genetic memory.
