House Fire Memory

Hi everyone!

so for the last two days I've been on vacation. I spent about 8 hours in a car alone with my sister. Here's a little current life history before I jump into the story:
My sister is 25 (6 years older than me) but I usually end up treating her like she's younger. This has always been a struggle between us because I feel older than her and like I need to protect her. She also tends to struggle through life a little more than I, so I try to help by taking her out to dinner, driving her places, etc. There also is a sort of guilt I feel on my side in like I'm never actually able to help her, which I've mostly gotten over.
some other quick back notes, but I had EXTREME fear as a child between the ages of 8-10 of our house burning, to the point that I had a bag packed in case, would sleep next to my parents some nights to make sure we all got out okay, and would often stay up all night thinking about it. It was very real to me, and it WAS going to happen... just a matter of time in my mind. :)

Anyways, on our drive down to the mountain, she tells me of this dream she has had. We were on Mississippi street ( a very historic area of Portland where she lives and I visit often) looking through antiques with my mother, as we are now. Then, she lifted up a tea kettle and on the bottom was engraved "Germany 1903". So somehow she ended up taking a walk and seeing this old style house on fire. The family (or majority of the family) was on the bottom level trying to gather all of the belongings they could before it burned. On the top level was (in my sisters words) a ten year old girl with her baby sister, all hope lost for them.

I discussed the dream with my sister further, but we both agreed that it likely was a past life memory, especially because of our reactions to the situation and the validness it holds between the two of us and our relationship. It was very relieving to finally have a root cause for the fear I had as a child.

Anyways, now I'm at a place where I want to validate more for it (regress myself, look online through archives, try to get a thread besides my emotional reaction and vivid memory/imagination), but I"m not really sure where to turn?

anyone else experience anything similarly? anyone have any good advice on researching such specific, minimal occurrences such as this?

any advice?

Thanks & Take Care All!!!

Wow! What an interesting dream your sister had. It also seems to tie in with your childhood fears and the relationship between the two of you. Have you ever had memories of these events (even if you didn’t understand them at the time, I wonder if you have had flashes of memories that fit in with her memories?) This is just me, and you can take or leave the advice, but I would think that you should try to recover your own memories before beginning any historical research. First, I say this for practical reasons (trying to find information about a fire somewhere in Germany in 1903 is probably not enough to go on). Secondly, I think it is generally best to recover your own memories of details and events before beginning the quest for validation. That way when you find something, you will have a bit more to compare it to, and be able to distinguish what is true and not. Have you tried regression, either with a professional or with CDs? This might be a place to start.

I second your idea about doing regression first,Alexnovo.. This way you will get the important and key elements that your soul needs to remember.. It can be a big picture and in order to find healing it is good to spend the time on what is important.. You will know on that higher soul level what things you need to remember.. and do not need to fuss with unimportant details

I am not big into historical "proof"... I would rather spend time and find healing and then get on with a life worth living now.. It is interesting but not always important to know it all... Depends on what you want to do with it. Those who write books need to have a good and well documented story , but otherwise we are not in this life forever.. ;)

I can totally understand your fear of fire. I have struggled with that as long as I can remember and it's manageable as an adult, but it's never gone away. I don't have any memories of a fire or dying in a fire, but I'm sure I must have because of the phobia that I have.

I definitely agree with both you and Alex... I have been on the brink of discovering this life in myself for years now, and have vague memories. For me, I like having some picture of myself or the house or even the family whenever possible because it's not so much "proof", but closure, especially since I've yet to have memories of it and didn't really think about regressing myself on my own... I'm particularly frightened though because I went a few weeks when I was younger unable to sleep because every time I closed my eyes I saw melting faces, and I fear that I might see that again, especially if I don't have some one guiding me away from it.

anyways, I really appreciate everyones input. I've dealt with a lot of disturbing past lives so far, and am ready to get this one sorted out so it no longer haunts me (I have a feeling that it does subconsciously).

Oh, and I know what you mean! fire is so frightening! have you thought about what particularly scares you about it or what situations? like, I'm fine with outdoor fires and I don't think I was burned at the stake, so it's usually a very specific fear association with fire. Maybe that will help lead you to the answer and help you to fully overcome it? just a thought. :)

I think I know what happened. I think I died in a house that was set on fire. I have memories of living in Appalachia (I think) as a young boy with an older man around, extremely poor, off in the woods. I posted all of those memories elsewhere. I can remember men coming very angry at the older man and in this life, I think of Ku Klux Klan but we weren't African. Anyhow, I was supposed to hide and I didn't. I panicked and ran into the house. I think they killed the older man and then came for me. I don't think they killed me. They stomped on me and (maybe?) knocked me unconscious. They lit the house on fire and I died inside, unable to move.

In this life, I am afraid of fire in any way, shape or form - stovetops, campfires, fireplaces, lighters, etc. I always joke that the reason I never smoked cigarettes is because I'm afraid of fire. Even having an idea of what caused the fear hasn't helped me get over it. I must have more work to do.

Alaskanlaughter ..

Sorry your fear is so deep. That sounds like there was alot of hate behind your death. I had not realised that the Klu Klux Klan were bullies of several groups of people .

I had a similar fear of the cold... from a death in a concentration camp .. I just resolved it , after having known of that life for over 10 years now. I finally can rationalise that I can do something now... ie I am in a position of control.. I was even telling a freind I miss the pretty snow on our winter , snowy walks this year... which for me is amazing.. I hope with your living in Alaska , you do not have that problem

Fire === for me I have only felt some fear in company of the people who I know probably do carry that fear. These people were friends from the time of the witch hunts and I do remember them being burned at the stake . I do not fear it by myself but get me around these people when we have a camp fire going and my nerves are more on edge -- like I would like to communicate that hidden memory to them { they do not know of the specific memory} Come to think of it , it is strange they are so big into camp fires at the farm where they get together for drumming circles..

I think this phenomena of transferance of others fears can have a big affect on us. I believe my dislike of being on the water has more to do with my fathers fear than my own. He died on the sea... I am quite sure I had convinced him to go to sea.. I am not sure if I was there with him for sure. He is terribly phobic about it now.. Not even wanting to take a shower or be in the rain. Me , I have always disliked since a kid being on the water in a boat.

soulfriendly,

I agree a lot in your experience with the fear! It took me a short time (two years) to get over fear of house fires (though it sits in the back of my mind as a possibility), but there are other fears and personality problems that I know and recognize from the past and have for years, yet still have trouble overcoming.

I think you're right, Alaskanlaughter, it usually means we have more to deal with when we are still fearful, and knowing the source doesn't always mean instant resolving of it. I do think it can help at least lead us on the right path towards overcoming it, though, and hope that you will someday be able to enjoy a campfire without disturbance!

I enjoyed reading both of your experiences a lot!!! Thanks for sharing!

Dreams of fire

As a child I had dreams about looking out at windows at night and seeing the forests on fire at the horizon, approaching our house. We had to gather what we could and flee in the other direction. I have lately come to suspect this was related to a past life memory, especially since I also carried a strong fear of fires throughout my childhood and teens. Whenever there was thunder I used to curl up and pray desperately: "Please, don't let the lightning strike, please, dont let the lightning strike!"

As I'm writing this I can still recall the images and the feeling from those dreams.

Hi Kelli!

All I can say - like Alaska - is that I completely understand your fears. Mine are not actually directed to fire - it's boiling water for me.

Recently I have come to understand where this fear comes from - and I have confirmed that it is past life related. And even though it helped - to a point - knowing that there is a reason for how I feel, it hasn't made it any easier to deal with the fears. As for the memories themselves - I am still too scared to go deep into them, because like you, I'm afraid I'd be having horrifying dreams for ages after that, and I'm just not ready for it right now.

I'm sure that the knowing will help - given time. :)
