Is it just me?

Well...I hope so.

Just cant shake an anxious/"waiting" for something-or-other type mood over the last couple of days....

Guess its just me (or, to be more accurate, some sort of chemical reaction stuff like "hormones", going on) because there isn't any particular reason to feel this way in my own life.

I'm guessing/hoping its just "me" (or, to be more accurate, something or other going on in my body chemistry - ie to do with my body, but not Me iyswim).

On the other hand, I've bypassed a lot of recent articles re various "possible plagues" - bird flu and the like - that might hit The World. But I am concerned that some (expletive deleted!) person was daft enough to put the welfare of two people ahead of the welfare of millions of people and bring two victims of Ebola back to America for treatment because they are Americans (opinion of that individualban2.locked1ban2.) and/or my own government (ie the British one) leaping up and down and muttering threats against Russia (ie "you wot...they are a superpower...or hadn't you noticed?cover face) re "Ukraine and all that....".

Maybe someone/somewhere is getting a bit "itchy-footed" about not having started up yet another Blimmin' War for....ooooh....at least a year or two:cool:.). Do forgive my exasperated/cynical/angry reaction about the proportion of the human race that seems to regard having a war at intervals as "something to do/test of masculinity/delete "reason" as required") and insert ceridwen "What are they playing at?" reaction every time yet another Blimmin' War starts up (yep....remember I'm British and just how many blimmin' Yet Another Wars our government has got us into since I've been born.....sigh....).

Or...is it just me and some sort of biochemical reaction going on within my own body at the moment that is influencing My mood and its more a case of "Tell your own body to darn well shut up and stop influencing your mood on you ceridwen"?

*********************

Honestly don't mind if I get told that its just "Down to something going on in your own body ceridwen" that is making you feel this way and You Yourself are fine and Planet Earth is fine (well...as fine as it gets here that is....as we know......)....and "Dont' worry...its just some chemical reactions going on within your body and ignore them".

Nope. Not just you.

If I were to guess, I would say you are attuning more to the energies around you. You have to release as much as you gather, though, or you will blow out lightbulbs and the like.

Still, have your blood checked, just in case.

Well...my Internet connection has been doing the hokey-cokey all day todaycoffee:grr: (for whatever reason) and really annoying me.

EDIT: and it cut out again whilst I tried to explain that it has been on/off all day. Supposed to be sorted out - months of hassle later after moving over here and the phoneline got changed in the end.

I can get very anxious about the state of the world sometimes! Try laying off the c0ffee, and not watching too many news telecasts. Get some fresh air and get out for a walk. It will help you feel calmer and more in control. Most regular people don't have a lot of control over what their governments do. You can write a letter. You can talk about it on Facebook. Sign a petition and so on.

But after all that, unless you're in the UN, getting yourself worked up about it is not going to do anything other than make you sick. Meditate on peace. It's better for you and probably better for the world.

I can sympathize with your feelings, Ceridwen. It's like waiting for a bomb to fall. Add to that the feeling of "Haven't we done this before, and how did we learn nothing from the other 526 times this happened?"

I don't know about you, but I often feel like I'm dealing with children. I relieve stress by imagining myself treating heads of state like children. "You're not going out to play until you finish your homework." "You write 100 times, I will not launch rockets at my neighbors." "I don't care who started it, I'm telling you to finish it." It may not accomplish anything, but it makes me feel better.LOL

I grinned a bit at your way of putting it, but it's very apt.

Perhaps we could also say "...and I will not try and resurrect things from the darkest ages in the history books...like beheadings and crucifixions and the like." Write 100 lines of "Let the past remain in the past".

I felt so much better back in that optimistic era, ie where it seemed like history was a steady path upwards (ie slaves were freed, trade unions were formed, women got the vote, women got The Pill/legal abortion) and then it all became clear we aren't on that steady upward path at all. It became clear things are much more "circular" than that. Make mistake, rinse and repeat, make mistake, rinse and repeat ad infinitum.

At a personal level, I've taken all the precautions I can against the "kids in the playground" sharing the Planet with me and, if there are any actions I can take (at my little "ordinary person in the street" level) to try and help, then its my responsibility to do so and I've done what I can over the years and will continue to do so.

For myself personally, then its down to "Try and stay on an even keel emotionally whilst its all crashing around me" and doing things that are pretty universally deemed helpful, like:

- being in countryside

- gardening

- walking

- being with friends

- music

- cooking

and I really really must get back into yoga and meditation etc and get serious about them this time.

Most of all remind myself that I always have a get-out clause any time I choose to take it, and that means that things can never get that bad for me personally, as I can just refuse to stay put and put up with them. Hopefully, it will never come to that....but knowing there is an "out" if need be means I don't have to worry myself too much, as I'd never be exposed to that much hardship personally. It really does help to be able to repeat to myself that I'd never have a serious incurable illness for long, I'd never have to live under any form of extreme government and/or general societal mores for long, etc, etc.

I'd like to think its possible to know if anything that drastic was going to come up personally in time. Here I recall ringing up an Iraqi woman I am friendly with many years back now out of the blue when she had returned to Baghdad. She picked up the phone to find it was me on the end absolutely insisting in no uncertain terms she had to leave Baghdad that day. She did so and the following day Baghdad was bombed. Rightly or wrongly she credits me with saving her life.

I am new to the forum and just ran across this thread. I know we are not supposed to talk politics on this forum, but I was wondering if anyone else is feeling somewhat doomsday-ish with all of the nativism and xenophobia happening in the world today. I am in the US so I feel like I am surrounded by it here.
