I had a very interesting “trigger” which occurred while I was on a trip to York in Northern England. York was once a major Roman city and the old Roman walls are still in place. On the afternoon in question, I was on a section of preserved wall when it began to rain heavily so I started to run to the next turret, about 50 yards away. I soon started to slip on the wet stones, as I looked down to watch my footing, I was amazed to find myself wearing sandals and the uniform of a Roman Auxiliary soldier. Then I was overtaken with panic and knew that I had to reach the protection of the turret at all costs. I continued to run as fast as I could, then as quickly as this began, I found myself back in the present. I know that this was much more that simply imagining a scenario, unfortunately, I can’t recall any visions either side of the wall, it was just me running in full Roman regalia for about 10 – 20 seconds.

This was the trigger that opened many more glimpses of my previous Roman lives. There seems to be more than one, not surprising considering the extent and duration of the Roman empire.

Regarding my own experience, I am afraid that I did not notice anything other than the wall in perfect condition and the Roman military clothes that I was wearing. As I ran, I could feel the metal and leather armour bouncing up and down as well as my sword repeatedly hitting my leg. This was accompanied by the sounds of metal against metal and many other footsteps behind me leading to my feeling of utter panic/terror. No one else in the vicinity reported anything out of the ordinary. I have been back to the same spot a number of times, without having a had a repeat experience.

Daughter of a Senator

I was the daughter of a Senator. I spent a dreadful year in Egypt as a Roman citizen and I am still terrified of Egypt. Fortunately, I have been able to see Rome in this life. But I saw Rome at it's zenith, and I miss it dearly. I have very fond memories of Rome and wish to get a little nostalgic.

I don't remember much in the way of dates, names, and the like. I'm very new to this, as I never studied reincarnation before. But I have found my husband from Rome. He was apparently a military man of sorts. We were around before Julius in the height of the true Republic of Rome.

BTW: It is the greatest pleasure to be able to meet with a "blast from the past". I hope all of you have had the joy of meeting old friends from former lives. He was the one to call back all of these memories and get me to look deeper into reincarnation. We've been through two lives together as a married couple that we remember. No, he's not my husband now. We must be "taking a break" (LOL). We don't have that kind of relationship. We are twenty years apart in age, so we have got to have some considerable connection to even have anything in common here on Earth.

As for Eygpt, I remember being appalled at the barbaric, irrational obsession with the dead. All day and night, nothing but working for the dead. The cultures were so different, and I was a rather haughty, nationalistic Roman, looking down my nose at all the "barbarions". That probably had more to do with it than anything. Apparently, I also hated being there, and witnessed some sort of bone chilling mystisism associated with Eygpt that was a 180 difference in Rome. Gladiator fights never phased me. Odd isn't it. I remember Rome as my best life. I unconsciously compare the U.S. to it more often than I realize. Maybe that's why I chose to be here in this Republic.

Roman Soldier

I too was a Roman soldier I died about 70 AD. I was part of the fortification occupying Judea at a very tumultuous time in History. My name was Thaddeus and I was a christian sympathizer. I was secretly in love with a phillistine woman with whom I had a child named Seth. I was killed for my sympathies when found out by fellow soldiers. I lived in Rome as a member of a very Patrician family with a long line of military males. I was a Pagan before arriving in Judea.

Killed by my stepson

I think maybe one can get the best (most emphatic) results through use of a number of techniques. I managed to regress myself using a self-hypnotic technique in a kind of family emergency. A relative by marriage in this life came to stay and he provoked the most intense anger in me. I found that he had killed me in a former life with a knife. It seemed he was closely associated with my wife of that time and of this life. The details were however blurry, quite unclear because the event was so spiritually painful.

By immersing myself later within a group session using the “third eye” procedure I was able to wrestle the details clear. The essential point here was that three other people eventually helped and their questions forced me to come to terms with the details. I really could not have done it by myself because the events were so traumatic.

In brief, the life was in Republican Rome. I had just come home to my estate from some sort of a Triumph, oblong shields, spears, people marching etc.

When I walked through the door my stepson came immediately forward to embrace me. As I opened my arms he plunged a knife up through my abdomen and into my heart. My wife of the time fainted away as I fell to the floor but my real problem was not so much the actuality of my death but that I had inadvertently (stupidly) let down my guard to suffer the mortal blow.

Through the physical pain my military mind saw that because of a moment of “weakness” I had betrayed the trust that had been placed in me by my supporters and that many people would now suffer as the result of my carelessness. It was a completely humbling experience but one that I had failed to come to terms with until quite recently.

I must send to Timodious.....

This dream was a few years ago, but it was very real and very vivid. I hope I can describe it well enough.

I remember standing in the doorway of my home, but it was not in the present, and not my house of the present. It was somewhere in the middle east (my mind says Judea, but I am not sure where that is). The house was made of yellowish, tan stones and the door was wooden. Outside of the doorway stood a Roman guard, dressed in a skirt like thing made of leather so that his hairy legs were bare. I was a man in this dream, and I was wearing some kind of long robe like garment that went down to my feet, it was light colored. I remember feeling very repulsed by the clothing this man wore, and was somehow a little afraid of him. I don't remember looking at his face, I seemed to look down the whole time we were talking.

Behind me, I was very aware that my wife stood nervously listening to us, she was dressed in long black robes as if in mourning. Beside her on a cot against the wall, her mother lay ill. She was very still and I didn't believe she had long to live. The Roman was telling me that he was sent to take my mother-in-law away. I felt like she was being arrested, but I don't know why. I knew that she was too ill to be moved and I was pleading my case with the guard. I remember saying to him "No, she is too ill to be moved, I must send to Timodious".

I don't know if Timodious was a person or a city, but I was quite determined that the guard would not take my wife's mother. It was pronounced like Tim (the name) O as in OH and Dious (like deeoh's). Then as I said those words, I felt myself slipping away. I slipped right out of the top of my head and watched myself and my family vanish as I woke up, landing on the bed with a hard thump.

I know Timodeus was an actual personal name for men , used in Latin Rome. If the mother-in-law had a plague like illness, then soldiers and slaves would have come to carry her away while alive, to keep the infestation down.

If memory serves me, black started being used for ceremonial garments in Roman, because the dyes were available - but don't quote me yet. I'll look into it. With the details you gave, and the realistic and vivid state of the dream, and the fact that you participated in the dream as that person, I would say this is definitely a past life memory.

Indentured servant in Rome

I was an Armenian stonecutter who became an indentured servant in Rome under the name Marcus Livius. That was, as far as I know, my first life, and it was rather unremarkable and quite full of stress and anger. I think this was around the 2nd century AD...

Validation of Roman chair

Some days ago I purchased one of Roger Woolger's books, including a self-regression CD. As I`ve never been regressed or have tried to regress myself, I thought I might give it a try this time. This is what came up:

I am a woman in my mid-twenties. I've long brown hair that is falling loosely to my shoulders. I`m looking down at myself and see that I'm wearing deep red garments. I'm sitting on a chair that looks very much like a modern day camping chair. In front of me a little boy is dancing happily around. He's about 3 or 4 years old. I know that this is my son. I feel comfortable and "at home". The room is dimly lit. The walls are made of stone and are painted with ornaments. I look at the door (there is actually no door) at the man who is standing there. He`s also in his early twenties- very handsome with his brown hair. He is not my husband. He feels more like a brother.

This is where the scene ends.

Now, I've been wondering about that strange chair that I saw in my regression. I've googled it up and found out that chairs like that really existed in ancient Rome. I didn't have the slightest idea that they did before. I got very emotional. Because of that weird chair I actually thought that I was just fantazising the whole scene. Now I know I wasn't... .

Roman soldier marching into Egypt

I have one brief memory of marching into an ancient Egyptian city with the Roman army just as a regular soldier. If I had a rank it would not have been a very high one - maybe a corporal or something, whatever the Roman equivalent might have been. I remember a feeling of great pride and elation seeing our banners flying in the sun and the bright sunlight reflecting off the helmets of the soldiers all around me. This may well have been in the time of Julius Caesar when Egypt and Rome had a peaceful alliance, as I don't believe we were coming as conquerers or anything. There had certainly been no fighting on this occasion. But we were making a fine parade (and show of force) entering the city.

Coming of age

This morning I had a dream (or actually I was in that in-between state, almost asleep). I felt I was in ancient Rome. I was a boy or a young man, just about to reach adulthood - turning 18 or whatever the Roman equivalent was then. I was excited, because it meant I could hold a speech in the Senate or some other institute for the first time. My father had something to do with it - either he had arranged the opportunity or then because he was the member of the Senate, I was to follow him or something like that. I remember there were round marks on the ground before the Senate where people would go to speak, and I remember I had to wait for my turn as there were other, more important people that were to speak before me.
