Ok people, here is one for you to sink
your teeth into.

My father died in May of 1999. My nephew was
born in May of 1998 (Yes, one year almost to
the day of the time my dad died)

Up until now I have been "skeptical" of
reincarnation but after this experience I am
about to tell... I am much closer to
accepting it as true.

I was at my sister's apartment, and her
three year old nephew was sitting in my lap
and I looked at his eyes. They looked VERY
familiar to me... and I told my sister if she
had any photos of my dad. She said she only
had his ARMY YEARBOOK from 1965. So she went
and dug it out.

Now... My nephew is very curious, so when he
sees this book, he wants to look at it. So
my sister and I try an experiment. We open
the book to the page where there are 50
little photos of each person who was at that
bootcamp. And my sister says "Hey Talon, do
you see anyone here you recognize?" and he
looks at the photos... for not even 5 seconds
and he points RIGHT AT my dad and says
"Its George!! Its George!! Look!" and yes
my dad's name was George. Now... thats not
all of it.

He then kept looking, and he said "And theres
George." then another photo and said "And
theres George" - now... then he said and
I quote: "There are three Georges"

And My sister and I thought nothing of it -
until we looked at the COLUMN of names of
photos on that page. There were in fact three
people with the first name of George on that
page. I then picked a random photo from the
book. I said "Whats his name?" and he said
"Bob"

I looked at the name and it said "Robert..."

Now... Then my sister said to me "Carl, He
is NOT George." and Talon said "Yes I am"
then she said "No your not" and he said
"Yes I am" - hehehe...

OK people - explain this one to me

Keep in mind that Talon was born on May 10
of 1998 and my dad died around May 10 1999

Simple enough, your sister was wrong when she said he was not George. Or rather right that he is not George now, but wrong in the fact that he was then. From the written word it is difficult to tell if she was playful in the saying of he was not George or not, but the way it is presented doesn't sound like she was. If I am reading this right, have you considered getting her a copy of Carol's book Return from Heaven? It specifically deals with reincarnation within same families.

There is no such thing as too many books. Too few bookcases can become a problem, however.

Thank you for sharing that! I find that wonderfully fascinating. I would suggest keeping a journel of the things that he shares with you, or have your sister do it.

Out of the mouths of babes...

There are a few documented cases in which the present personality was born before the previous one died. OTOH, your nephew is your father's grandson, and things like eyes and even certain expressions can be explained by genetics.

I wonder if your nephew could be mediumistic and at the time was under your father's influence. That would explain his knowledge of your father's army buddies without his necessarily being your father reincarnated.

Has your nephew ever been serously ill or injured? I ask because one of the cases I have in mind, that of Jasbir Singh, occured when the previous personality returned in the body of a four year old child who had apparently just died.

Please do keep a record of your nephew's future statements and behaviors that relate to your father. Whatever the explanation this is a fascinating case.

Well the thing is, my sister IS a believer
in reincarnation, but the LAST thing she
would want to believe is that my dad
(her adopted dad) is her son now. Why? She
absolutely HATED my dad - and vice versa.
They had probably the worst father/daughter
relationships imaginable and she has even
accused him of abuse and such.

But I think one of the most telling things
was when after he had looked at the book he
was in the hallway playing with other kids
his age and he said "Hey do you want to see
a picture of me?" lol - I about panicked and
as he came inside the apartment I told him
no and that he should stay outside and play

I mean... how am I supposed to deal with a
3 year old pointing at a photo of a 20 year
old army private and saying "thats me"

Also, why on earth would a three year old say
"want to see a picture of me?" I mean surely
the other kids can see what he looks like

The other question, has he had any serious
injuries. No. I think its fascinating that
he has the EXACT same eyes, that my dad had
when he died. You could even notice it in a
photo very easily (I dont have any to put up
here) but they are identical. And my sister
would comment that he bosses her around a lot
and "acts like a soldier" hehe.

In fact... before the IDEA that he could be
my dad reincarnated, she was entertaining the
idea that "he could have been a warrior or
something in a pastlife" to me.

Hi Carl

What better way to heal a relationship and bonds of love, than through the love of a mother and her child???? It seems almost the obvious choice for them, especially considering what you mentioned in your last post

Maybe you should suggest your sister reads Carol's latest book "Return from Heaven" it is filled with similar stories of same family reincarnation…it may help her to read similar cases and experiences, if what you feel is true.

What is most important though, is that even if there was a distinct possibility that your nephew was a reincarnation of your father, he is now a new individual and should be allowed to grow and "come into himself" in his new life...I would journal like crazy and be with him every step of the way...but also give him plenty of room to grow and divulge as HE wants - as you have been doing – if your sister harbours any “fears” already, pushing may only make matters slightly more “fragile”

Maybe through time you will find the answers - I hope you keep us updated

Hi Carl,

Did you mean your dad died first in 1998 then your newphew was born in 1999? If so, I have no doubt that your nephew is your dad reincarnated. If not, I wonder if he is somehow tapping into the memories of your father.

I'm reading Seat of the Soul by Gary Zukav and he said something that makes plenty of sense to me: only the parts of our soul and personality that need healing reincarnates. Thus, if your newphew is your dad, perhaps the parts of his soul that knows the relationship between him and your sister needs healing are coming through.

no My nephew was 1 at the time my dad
died. I have found other cases where someone
who is a very likely candidate to have been
reincarnated was born BEFORE the person died
and I think that this might be explained
through this idea.

I believe its possible that death is a
process where perhaps the spirit is moving
- therefore when someone first starts to
die, a child is born and their spirit has
already started to move into that child.
Perhaps thats how someone knows "They dont
have much time left" - perhaps they can
feel the transfer taking place (of course
dont know thats what it is). Or, another
possibility is that maybe before we enter
the body - its "prepared" for us, and maybe
even "reserved" before we enter it. My point
being simply that our minds are far too weak
to comprehend something like this fully, and
there are always many other possibilities we
have not considered.

I believe in paralell lives so the idea your father incarnated as your nephew does not seem at all odd. It's also been said that the first few years the soul constantly comes and goes as you can't do much as a baby. You can't really achieve any of your goals until you can actually do things on your own and communicate. This is probably why children remember past lives so clearly. If they aren't fully incarnate they still haven't forgotten their past lives.Their still operating more in the spiritual realm sort of just hanging around the body.I've also heard doctors and pyschologists say most people don't have any real memories until at least age 2 and if the memory is a product of your soul and it's not fully there yet it'd make sense.

Perhaps your nephew had a different soul at first but then gave up the body to your father as he'd probably get greater use from it and would be with you again right away.

HI Carl,

Question..was your father in a coma or unconscious the year before his death -at all? Just curious.

Thanks for adding the information that your father is your sister's adoptive father. Of course this eliminates the possibility that the eyes aspect is genetic.

I think I remember a reference in Stevenson (possibly in Children Who Remember Past Lives) to another case in which the previous personality had died a substantial length of time after the present one was born. The length may have been as long as a year. It was longer than the time required for a normal pregnancy. He didn't give details, unfortunately.

When you say possibly to the question about your father's being in a coma before he died, do you mean that you don't have the details, just the date of his death?

The further details about your nephew are fascinating, because they do sound like behavioral carryovers.

Thanks for continuing. I for one am following with interest.

Well when I talk about the eyes... there is
a look in everyone's eyes, a very distinct
look. No one has that same look. The exact
same eyes my dad had - my nephew has now. It
is a splitting image. I know that prior to my
dad's dying, he was having some very bad
health problems. He was even passing out at
times. He had a few minor heartattacks, and
his date of death was almost exactly when my
nephew turned 1 year old. In fact, we dont
know the EXACT date of death, only within 2
days or so. And so its very possible that he
died ON my nephew's birthday.

It is true that there would be no genetics
possible to account for the eyes, because the
whole "makeup" of my dad, and the "makeup" of
my nephew are quite different. For example,
my dad had approx 1/4 German, my nephew has
none.

It is fascinating to consider the possibilities.

Carl this case has me fascinated...I hope you keep us up to date

I know this may sound like an impossible question, considering children are not exactly vocal from 0-1 years old. But I wonder if your sister noticed any difference in your nephew after his 1st birthday??? Maybe whether he become more focused or perhaps "grounded". Was he a dreamy baby...did he sleep a lot???? (I hope you catch my tangent)

Actually yes..

After the time he was about 1 year old,
he started this strange "rocking" habit where
he would rock back and forward. My sister was
worried it might be some sort of problem but
was assured it was just a phase of sorts, and
he has grown out of it. Thats the only real
noticable difference I can think of.

This is really interesting. I was about to say, like many people have already posted here, that this sounds like a smooth "passage" between bodies- almost like one body was being "prepared' for the other...or that theis one soul shared these two bodies by going backj and fourth into one then the other and experiencing his new life that way...please do keep us updated! Wow!

I am finding this thread fascinating! Love it!

Just a thought on his wanting to show his friends a picture of himself. You never know, there are probably several at that age who *know* that they have lived before, and would truly understand the whole concept, from a three year old's perspective, of course.

Would create a nice bond between those who have. Of course, might send the mom's scrambling to grab their children and take them home too. LOL

LOL that was my concern, parents wondering
what kind of crazy nonsense is going on lol.

I think the more I consider it, I think the
"prepared body" is probably the correct
view on whats going on. Perhaps that accounts
for why so many cases of reincarnation
candidates died 1-2 years AFTER their new
life was born.

Then again - who knows maybe we inhabbit many
bodies and dont even know it. That would sure
be a great argument to the old
"Reincarnation cant be true because the earth
population increases" argument.

I can't help wondering how things are going. Has the Mom become any more comfortable with the idea of the reincarnation, or will it just be one of those things no one talks about?

Seems my daughter started talking about her past life at about 2 1/3 and also talked about things like flying in the sky at the time also. If I ask her about what is was like before she was born, she talks about some things that happened when she was 18 months old, or about flying in the sky. Now she is close to her third birthday, and doesn't talk about flying in the sky at all, and looks at me like I am crazy if I bring it up.

So, I like the theory that the soul slowly pours into the body.
