nephew's past lives/spirit energy

hi everybody. i have been lurking for a long, long time and decided to officially sign up and post, haha.

i come from a highly sensitive family. my mother is clairvoyant, and i am as well, to a certain extent. (i panic easily.) my half-sister was very sensitive as a child and has had a single, unsettling experience with regression. she has a 2-year old son. we were chatting about reincarnation the other day and she brought up a couple of things that have been happening with him/in their house recently.

he has always had a strange, but unbalanced, fascination with airplanes. he loves to see pictures of them in books, but as soon as one flies overhead, even in the distance, he starts to panic. he gets genuinely frightened and will sometimes cry. the other day, my sister had a sudden gut feeling and asked him if he had ever been in a plane before. (he hasn't. in this life, at least.) my nephew nodded with wide eyes and pointed to the sky, making an airplane noise. this isn't that big of a deal, i guess. my sister just said that she got the feeling that he had been a pilot and died in a crash, which would explain the fascination but also the fear. complete inference, of course.

something else that is a little more concrete - a little more interesting (?) - happens pretty much every time that they open a book or magazine with an image of a person with dark skin. even in very simply illustrated children's books, my nephew will point to black women and say, "mommy." only once in awhile will he do the same with black men and say, "daddy." his parents are both white. and, as my sister will readily tell you, they live in a suburb with a very small african american population.

my nephew has somewhat of a speech delay. however, he has always understood what people were saying to him very clearly. i remember when he was maybe ten months old, he could follow instructions on how to put legos together. we were wondering if you guys had any tips re: questions to ask about these specific instances? or ways to keep his memory open until he has the speech skills to communicate further? we aren't pushing him by any means, but, given the track record of the rest of his family, it wouldn't be terribly surprising if he turned out to be clairvoyant/sensitive in some way.

additionally, right before all of this started, my sister began feeling very uneasy in her house. she wakes up in the middle of the night thinking that someone is in the doorway and she has to go check before she falls asleep again. she has woken up on numerous occasions to a weight pressing down on her lower legs, making it so that she can't move. lights turn on and off randomly. she went downstairs to get a drink of water in the middle of the night a couple of weeks ago, and as she was walking back up the stairs, she heard very distinct knocking sounds on her son's step-up stool at the sink. she almost went back to investigate but then turned around to continue up the stairs. the knocking occurred again, sounding as though someone were rapping their knuckles against the wood. as a child, my sister was very sensitive to the paranormal and possible spirit energies around her. she says that her son sleeps soundly through all of this, but she has become so uneasy that she now sleeps in the room next to his.

this might be totally out there, and i don't know if you believe in this, in addition to past lives, but i was thinking that maybe some of his buddies from "the other world" are just dropping by to see how he is doing in this life. that could be why memories of past experiences might be in the forefront of his brain.

OR it could all be a fluke. i don't know.

ALSO: i just remembered this...

when we got together for thanksgiving, he came running out of the living room to greet me when i walked through the door. he was yelling "auntie mommy! auntie mommy!" i sort of smiled and said, "no, i'm auntie court." my sister confirmed this and said, "yeah, that's auntie court." he got this really confused look on his face and said auntie mommy one more time. i shook my head again and he gave me the dirtiest look! and turned around and walked back into the living room.

maybe "mommy" has a different meaning for him. i dunno.
we had a pretty instant connection when he was born. we used to just chill out and stare at each other when he was an infant. he will give me huge hugs but ignore other members of the family.

Welcome to the forum cottonball,

Thank you for sharing your nephews experiences. Is someone keeping a journal of his expressions? It will be most valuable in the future. :)

My grandson called me "mommy" when he was two - still refers to me as that at age 10. He says he has two mommies. ;) I believe he was a child I did not have at age 24...he came back as my grandson.

I hope you are enjoying the forum

Many Blessings

Also Cottonball,

The FAQ section has some info about how to talk to your child about past life memories.

I think you and your sister are doing a great job staying grounded and not pressing him.

Vicky
