Renaissance Florence, Italy, 15th century

Hi!
I'm new here. And already now very glad I found you all! I've read such interesting stories, and I wanted to tell my own as well.
I've had a life as a small girl in England in the Victorian period of time, and one as a boy soprano in Italy, propably in the 18th century.

After all, the life which I find somehow closest, most interesting and most important to my present life was located in Florence, Italy, in the middle of 15th century, the time when the whole city was flourishing in the bloom of the renaissance. The life was happy because I had founden the deepest possible love, sad because we had to hide our affair, and too short; I died at the age of 23 because of a lethal lung infection. (In this present life of mine I do have a chronic lung inflammation, which began when I was at the age of 23...)

Of that life of mine I have some memories of my own, some details of it have been seen by other, trustworthy people, and the rest of it is just pure historical fact that I've been able to find. The information from that time is seldom specific, it's often based on a hearsay, I've been given two alternative birth dates for example, and some of the written information I just now to be false. In this present life of mine I have a dear soul friend, who lived in Florence at that time as well (our relationship was purely platonic), and the way she sees things from that time has been very similar.

My name was Simonetta, I was most likely born in Genova, and was given to be married when I was only 15. I moved to Florence. My sister of this life was my little sister in that life as well, very dear to me, but we propably never saw each other again after I moved away from Genova. She had to marry at a young age too, and moved elsewhere. My sister is in this life very drawn to Italy, same as I, but to different cities and different places.

The marriage was arranged and unhappy, with no children. I fell in love with a painter who worked occasionally for the Medici court. His father lived next door to a house of the Vespucci family, the family of my husband. I presume it was the environment where we first met. We had a deep, beautiful love affair that lasted until my premature death year 1476, at the age of 23. I've been blaimed to have had affairs with also two members of the Medici court but after my own opinion it is not true. I had been blessed with beautiful looks and they might have fancied me but that was it, I would say. We had a group of friends, kinderspirits that shared not only friendship but also the same ideologies and the esoteric way of viewing life.

After my death my beloved, the painter, who has been my companion in other lives too, never married. He lived still 34 more years, and until the very end he used me as a model in his paintings, even when I was already dead. You actually can see and feel the pain from the paintings, it is unbelievably touching. (The experience of seeing those original paintings in this life was unbelievable.) Before his death this love of my life asked to be buried "on the ground beneath my feet", and his last wish was fulfilled. We are both buried in a small parish church, situated a short distance from the centre of Florence. His grave is still there, it's only a modest sign on the ground though, mine can't be founden anymore. Although I know it's somewhere very near to him.

I have had a great possibility to spend some time in Florence researching my past life. I always get very emotional in that city, there is something incredibly touching in it and at the same time something so very familiar. I didn't need a map when walking in Florence, I always just knew where everything was, which is not typical for me at all. Some of the oldest parts of the city, for example Ponte Vecchio, the old covered bridge, built in the 14th century, was very overwhelming, many times I just unexpectably started to cry when walking over the bridge. And naturally the moment when I visited the church in which we were both buried, was very touching and almost sacred. I brought some flowers to the grave of my beloved. Italian language has been the easiest language for me to learn in this life, and yes, there is a great recemblance between me and Simonetta from the paintings; the features, the hair and most of all the eyes, the gaze.

I have been told to find my painter, my soulmate, also in this life and I'm willing to believe it is true. Actually I have a feeling that I have founden and recognised him already... We haven't met yet, he is not Finnish (I am). And yes, he looks exactly like the self portrait of the painter, and the eyes... Well, we'll see, we'll see.

I'm sorry this text became so long, but it's difficult for me to tell things in a short form... If there is some of you who have lived in the same places or in the same period of time, or just fancies the renaissance time altogether, I would be very interested to read about it! We could possibly even share some memories...
Light and love for you all!

Terve Netta,

I really enjoyed reading your memories and I'm glad that you decided to share them.

It sounds like you had a fascinating life as Simonetta.

How wonderful it must have been to go back to Florence for past life research. I'd love to be able to do that at some point.

Ailish :)

Terve terve, Ailish!

And thank you for your comment!

I have the feeling that i loved my life as Simonetta, even with all the difficulties of being married to a wrong man, and it was a shame my life had to end so early.

I was very happy to be able to go back to that environment (I feel propably more home in Italy, where I have had more lives than just this one, than I do in Finland), and it was an incredible experience. Although it wasn't always easy, I had to live through again many memories and feelings, also the saddest ones. But I guess that during my journeys I've had a chance to grow a little, it has been very "educational".

I hope and I'm sure that you'll have the same chance to go to the places that are the closest and dearest for you! Or did you even mean you would like to go to Florence? È bellissima, Firenze...

Hei Netta,

It's amazing how much past lives teach us -- and allow us to grow, isn't it? :)

I'd love to go to Italy -- it is definitely a beautiful place. I've lived there in a past life, but just in a small town in the North. :D

How did you start to remember Simonetta's life? Dreams, flashes?

Heippa Ailish!

Funny how you know all the Finnish greetings! Nice.

Yes, it is unbelievable how teaching the past lives can be. Just incredible.

Nice that you have been in Italy too! Do you know exactly where? The northern part of the country is very beautiful! All the lakes and the mountains... Italy is incredible.

My first past life experiences were actually from my later life as a boy soprano, I got very vivid and specific flash backs during a reiki healing -session. Later I found out that also one of the healers had seen the same picture and moments I did. And it seemed very natural, I have always loved boy soprano voice, it always touches me deeply.

Later I have had same kind of experiences and flash backs of my life as Simonetta. The last one was during a shamanistic course I took part in. I have always loved the renaissance period, and it's funny that a couple of persons have said to me aready earlier that I'm a renaissance girl, looking like I had run out from a renaissance painting. And it can't have anything to do with my clothing.

A trustworthy friend of mine who sees amazingly well all possible kind of things described me the paintings that had me as the model, and when I found pictures of the paintings it explained everything. The eyes were exactly the same, no doubt. I also could immediately tell which paintings had me as the model and which didn't, even if there was a couple of quite similar lady figures. And I was always right.

I started to read about this girl and the moment when I found out she had died of the same kind of illness that I had had chronic for some years already, lung infection, at the age of 23, the exactly same age when my disease began, was just incredible. I react with my lungs to different kind of situations and energies, and the time I visited Florence I had sometimes high fever just out of nowhere and there was a lot of stuff coming out of my lungs. And there, In florence, I also had a lot of these 'just knowing' moments, I knew what had happened and where, and it was ridiculously easy to orientate in the city.

By now I have met propably 5-6 persons from that Florence time, youngest of whom is only two years old at the moment. He, being a sculptor and artist in Florence, is now the son of my dear friend, who was there at the time as a composer and musician. Now I have been seeing some dreams of my beloved painter, he actually exists in this life too, and I can't wait to meet him... Hope that will be possible some day.

My dreams have been strongest while staying in Florence, and some unexplainable things have happened to me there as well. I have later had a 'second opinion' of my life in Florence and its veracity from two other friends who have been blessed with the gift of seeing things, always with the same answer. All very interesting...

Moi Netta!

Karoliina taught me everything I know...:)

I am not certain of which town I lived in -- but if you are interested, you can read a bit about it here.

I find that fascinating -- as I have very weak lungs in this life. I can see a pattern of damage to the lungs throughout various lives, that has led to me having to be very cautious in this life. ;) It's really interesting -- that your symptoms just came out of nowhere while you were visiting!

By now I have met propably 5-6 persons from that Florence time, youngest of whom is only two years old at the moment.

How wonderful for you to be reunited with so many people from that lifetime! I always think that's such a blessing! Have any of them recognized you as Simonetta?

Ciao, Ailish!

Thank you for your story in Italy, it was unbelievably touching! And tragical, too. It was just incredible to read your story, how your and Deborah's memories were so similar... Just beautiful. Could that "non me par larra" you had written possibly be "non mi parlare", "don't talk to me"?
And yes, it is mostly interesting that you sometimes have some very concrete reminders from your past lives, these illnesses or some other symptoms for example. Nowadays my lungs in a way inform me of many things, energies and so on. If I meet some important person from my Florence-life, for example, I may feel it in my lungs. Interesting that the lungs have some importance for you as well, and how you said it has something to do with many lives. This is propably no more than second 'lung-life' for me, and in Florence it might have had something to do with the arranged marriage, feeling suffocated in that way...
I do feel very lucky and blessed to have been able to meet again so many of my friends in Florence. And to be able to continue my life with my sister as well, because that time we were so cruelly separated.
With the dear friend of mine, who was the composer in Florence, we have been able to recognise each other and it is such a wonderful feeling. We are both musicians in this life. Her little beautiful and very special son has clearly recognised me as well but isn't speaking anything about Florence and uses my own, Finnish name.
With one of the persons (who was a member of the Medici-family, which reigned Florence at the time) I even had a love affair kind of a thing going on in this life and I told him stories about Florence, but I'm not sure if he believed me. In a way the recognition was instant, we liked each other from the first sight, but it took time even from me to realize who he really was. Or had been.
One friend, a woman, recognised me after I told her myself and showed a picture of a painting, but not before. The other people are not that close that I could tell them any strange stories, yet at least.
But yes, it is a great blessing to re-know all those wonderful people! Now I'm only waiting for to get reunited with my artist-soulmate... I have strong feeling that it is going to happen. And the more you learn about your past, the more you understand about yourself and your person today. Fascinating, so very fascinating.
One more thing, do you remember, was there some mountains or lakes or even the sea closed to the place where you lived in Italy? Would be interesting to know, where the place has situated.

Hi Netta,

Could that "non me par larra" you had written possibly be "non mi parlare", "don't talk to me"?
OH YEAH! More than likely -- that was exactly what it meant. ;)

One more thing, do you remember, was there some mountains or lakes or even the sea closed to the place where you lived in Italy? Would be interesting to know, where the place has situated.

Most of my memories happen within our home/yard/town and other family members' homes. I don't ever recall travelling anywhere exciting (even though my sister got to go away with our father to the city because she was the oldest -- not fair!)

The surrounding area was certainly hilly -- rolling and green. I don't remember any "mountains" as I would classify them -- but *very* large, steep hills. The town/village was nestled nicely in a little valley between the hills.

Apparently -- there was a train that ran close by, although I have no direct memories of it myself. Funny, but in my present life my parents used to take me to watch the train when I was 6, 7 months old and apparently I would get so excited and start babbling. And everytime I heard the train whistle -- my mom says my eyes would get round like saucers and I'd start looking for the train, waving my arms, kicking my legs and blowing kisses. :o

As far as I know -- we weren't close to any large bodies of water. I have no memories of "playing" in or near the water. Just tons of grapevines....everywhere!

And the more you learn about your past, the more you understand about yourself and your person today.

Absolutely! It's definitely a unique journey. I hope you'll keep us posted on your memories! :D
