Shared past Life experiences

Cump Sherman fought in the Great War, as did I. He was dragged into the Army by the draft board. I last saw him in 1980 at my grandfather's funeral. He was a reclusive farmer. An older Shane to me.

He left the "home place" ten miles away and settled two sections of largely forested land across from my grandfather's place. His name was Herb Newman. He lived in a converted chicken coop, till he built a proper place in the fifties. He wore his bib tops till the cow pee cracked them. He would show up on Saturday night for our Sauna every three weeks. Otherwise , he just showed up. He taught me a great deal about life. It would take a couple of thousand words to even get near what he taught me.

The high point of my summer on our home place was threshing
at herbs place. He taught me a great deal about nature and breeding dairy cattle. The compassionate way!

More later, Msn is shutting down for maintenance. A really neat story here.

I accessed through the E mail link.

Herb took a bath every week because on Sunday he went home to Sunday dinner. I remember one time going over to get him for a political discussion. He was bathing in the cow tank! In winter, he did his thing in the barn!

Anyway, around 11 every Sunday morning, he whizzed by in his T Model wearing a 1920 something suit and tie. The incongruity was the Stetson ala Harry Truman. He was a died in the wool Progessive! The road was not paved and the cloud of dust at times was impressive. Model T's had a "planetary clutch". Three Pedals! I actually learned to drive Henry Ford's Marvel. If you are old enough, you remember all the Grandpa's that first turned right to turn left. That was the T model. Like me, my Grandfather was into wheels. In the high times of the twenties, a Buick. The Buick chassis became the winter turd wagon. Before barn cleaners you shoveled the gutter into the spreader or the turd wagon as the horses slowly advanced through the barn. Spreader meant directly to the frozen field. A waste of the minerals in the pee. The turd wagon meant off loading on the field pile of manure for spreading in the spring.

Herb was a pacifist of sorts. He changed his view after Pearl Harbor. I was five at the time so I relied on his views a few years later. On rainy days ,my Uncle Mike, Grandpa and Herb got to go fishing! A whole day of politics in a rowboat! Then came three O'clock. Reel up! Chores! THey let me out at the pasture gate. Rex, after Rex Harrison, the cow Collie was waiting. A whistle and the gentle ladies were on their way home for relief and treats. Ninety head and Rexxie knew if anyone was missing!

Herb and my Grandfather led the way to rural electrification in the thirties. Our place had juice via generators to operate the milking machines long before.

Bill Sherman had it right. War is not glory but a defeat of reason. Start a war , the response must be hell upon those that started it. We shall soon be applying his logic. The ultimate male peeing contest! Mix it with this god crud and you really have disaster.

I wonder if I shall see him as a young person in this life! He should be around 17-18.

Cool story -

So, besides his pacifism, which I know to be a trait of Sherman's in what other ways did you recognize him as Sherman? I suspect Herb did not believe in reincarnation?

Hi P. Bend,

You might be right about my "relationship". I,ve never looked at it that way and I think I still felt kind of rejected. Although I have the feeling that we are going to meet eachother again somewhere, sometime, maybe in a future life, who knows?

K.Regards,
Rini

P.Bend, the process of recognition of a person from a past life in the present life is the opposite of what anyone would expect. I simply see them in the past life . These recognitions can be very strong or weak.

It seems you tend to dismiss the recognition in your mind if they are just fleeting. Anyway, that is when, I check the bio work of the past person. I have never found someone in this life by seeking them out in the history book. Ahh, let's see, who is Sherman, Oh it's Herb. Never had that happen.

Sherman was not as volatile in relationship matters as he was in field operations. He had a sense of humor and a peculiar laugh. I think Herb's laugh triggered the memory. I was thinking about Herb one night and his laugh! Suddenly, I hear Sherman's laugh mentally. Connection made. Then it was the eyes being the same. Then the features are recognized.

Herb was born around 1898. He was very weather beaten. He did things like talk to his cows. He was very patient. Sherman was a very patient man with his colleagues. Grant was the more volatile. George Thomas being a great example. Herb was very volatile about the Soo Line Railroad , which bisected his lands. He felt himself entitled to a cattle viaduct. They felt otherwise. The feud never ended, as far as I know. Everyone shipped cattle via Soo line. Not Herb. He decided to never ship at all! Luckily, most of his income came from his forest. He was a sawyer and had his own large log rig. People picked up the lumber from him.

There is also a counterpart personality issue here. This is where the same "soul" occupies different bodies in a parallel life. Herb died in 1982 or so. The other person was born in 1938. So this is a real possibility. I have the same issue myself. There are no overlaps of more than a decade in my case and one of two others died thirty years ago. In my case the three counterparts were born in 1926, 1931 and 1937. Two of the three counterparts to me were in the CW. My personal experiences in this life and with reincarnation require that I accept the idea of counterparts. It goes back to how it all began for me. If counterpart theory is not real, I would have to abandon reincarnation itself as a possibility if an alternate explanation is not possible.

The subject is best treated in the work of Jane Roberts.

All things considered, it is easier to be an atheist!

Thank you, Jerry -

I appreciate your description of Herb/Sherman.

I have long believed in counterpart souls. The idea was first described to me when I was back in college and it made sense.

:D Yes, it can get complex :D Perhaps it is easier to believe in atheism, afterall - but they are missing all the fun of trying to figure it all out.

P Bend, I have some fun stuff to add. Herb and I were horse guys. I regularly, changed to long pole on the rake/ tedder. Any ten year old would normally have jumped at the tractor. To avoid standing up to work the clutch and brakes, I had a pair of specially designed blocks. Instead,I put the long pole on to use the Horses. They were my dear friends, horse farts and all! I rode Percheron Morgan crosses at seven. Bareback! Horses only need voice and knee PRESSURE to do superb things with their human FRIEND. Herb designed the tractor blocks!

One day, I was tedding hay with the horses! I tied the reins in a loop and put them over my head. I do not like even a snaffle bit!! I was tedding our field of cut hay for the day adjacent to Herb's fields. He was doing the same with his beloved team We both dropped the reigns to talk. WE sat down and had coffee and biscuits and knife carved cheese. I will never forget the Kildeers that morning. Tedding chases the bugs out. The Kildeer's were waiting. The horses were watered with Herbs WWI cavalry canvas watering bag for horses. THis is very early for most people, 7 AM in June. Tedding kicks the hay up so it will dry out by noon. Today, they use hay crimpers to speed up the process.

I went home for breakfast. I said herb and I had breakfast. Coffee, biscuits and REAL Colby Cheese! Everyone was sort of afraid of Herb's Grub! Not me! ( Our Farm was a larger milk supplier to one of the original Colby Cheese Plants. A.H.Mandel & Sons. Colby, Wisconsin. Colby is really a very young Cheddar! If you age it correctly, It is the Best Cheddar. )

If I am a connesieur of anything, it is cheese. Any Cheese! The next best is Schweiss Emmenthaler. Then Milwaukee Limberger!

The counter part thing is really interesting. For proper balance we need a separate post. It is delightful, and includes two other CW officers with a similar counterpart situation.

Goldenage would love this! Herb was quite similar to Augustus MacCrae in Lonesome Dove. People say the same to me. I dearly hope Herb rubbed off on me more than I think he did.

specifics

Dear Jerry,
for me, myself, at this stage I can only detect one self in me consisting of a more-or-less aggregated array of voices that had their own expression at other times, mostly I think, alone then too. Although I can quite see the mechanism, overseen as it must be by the higher self and thence the supreme self (all selves are one) still I wonder what it would be like down at the level of the ego.

So two questions: 1) did you ever meet a split of your ego-self in this life? If so how was it? 2) how did you personally detect other facets(?) of yourself alive and on Earth this lifetime?

How do you really know about them? What's it like? Are they friendly etc?
Regards

Robin, active reincarnation inquiry started when my associate walked into my office and told me he was not in any way impaired but that he was watching me sitting at my desk wearing a blue uniform with stars on the shoulder straps and a beard. None of which I was wearing. This was the summer of 1975.

I have always been very clairvoyant. During the ensuing year, I was more or less dragged around the reincarnation circuit by this same person.

The idea of counterparts was unknown to me and quite unacceptable as well had I known about the idea. For a short time I became clairaudient in the spring of 1976. The communicants were my recently dead father and friend. My friend said " I am you". "You are me". I fled the whole thing. I thought myself bonkers!

The other counter part was our mutual employer. I skip a very great deal here for brevity.

During the ensuing six weeks or so, i learned about some past lives. The others I had to figure out for myself. In mid summer the clairaudience ended, never to return except for a phrase or two every several years.

I knew nothing of Jane Roberts or Seth, her trance personality.

Thankfully, I did find her and others that explained the phenomenon. Perhaps, after all, I was not a nutberg!

In the ensuing decade I was able to piece several sets of counterparts functioning together. One of these is one person I suspect strongly is a counterpart of Sherman in the present life. For the moment I cannot reveal who she is. Be imaginative!

My fear of clairaudience has probably held me back from a better understanding of how souls work" mechanically".

I am a very reluctant participant in this whole occult business. As I said, it is so much easier to do a good atheist act, and move on. But, I must have volunteered to do what I am doing. So, it is a stiff upper lip thing for me allround!

I do often come round to Vice President John Nance Garner's opinion of the Vice Presidency. Substitute Reincarnation ,occult and religion. Garner was Roosevelt's first VP. "It is not worth a pitcher of warm PXX" : just add , but for the need for a stiff upper lip.
Then, I keep on going because I know better.

P Bend and Robin.

After more or less explaining the circumstances, my dead counterpart died young from cancer. He lost a lung at 28 and died at 41. He was at work three days before he died. We often travelled to New York together. Stayed in the same room. We had all kinds od discussions about dying and such. The other counterpart is still alive. By now, he has forgotten me.

We were together in past lives, as well. There were lives when we were totally merged. I do not have much remembrance of these lives.

I did two posts to discuss how it all happened.

If I am correct about Sherman, and it would be a cruel joke if it is not true, the "Sherman" personalities also have been near each other.

Anyway, Sherman as Sherman had to have been my pal Herb the recluse. I do not have handwriting to check out. The idea is superflous anyway.

Regarding proof, the Catch-22 is that whenever a reputable scientist accepts reincarnation, they are cast out of the "club", and so, by society's standards, cease to become reputable at that point. So by definition, there are no reputable scientists who believe in reincarnation.

Recently PBS broadcast a special about Benjamin Franklin--a brilliant mind in many fields, including science and statesmanship--who as we know believed in reincarnation. They had an actor portraying him, and they put words in his mouth to the effect that he did not believe in reincarnation.

That being said, there is a new Gallup Poll out which shows that 25% of Americans now believe in reincarnation (up, I believe, from 23%).

I had an experience of ESP once that was verified spontaneously by the person I was with, and I also had a strong sense of recognition with a person I'd just met verified by that person once. No specific memories, but I've come to trust that feeling.

I also feel that there are some cosmic reasons why proof is usually not allowed--meaning, the absolute undenial kind of proof. I can only speculate, but for one thing, if reincarnation is proven to people of low character development, their response may be to feel freer to kill other people. The whole proof thing could backfire terribly. So I suspect that Guides and Masters very often intervene in the background to prevent this from happening.

Thought I would share this

Hi,

I love reading all your shared experiences. I'm too tired to reflect on them this evening -but did dig up this shared experience with my son in 1994.

When Daniel was around nine years old, and after doing extensive past life regressions myself, I decided to try something new. Daniel was in a rather calm mood for the day, and I asked him if he wanted to meditate with me...his eyes lit up, and said,"yah what’s that?"

I had done most of my meditating when he was in school or somewhere else due to the noisy household I had at the time. :o) I told him it was a form of relaxing, that the light in his inner vision could take him to anyplace in his mind that he would like to go. Daniel talked of the light when he was younger in the third eye region, so he was familiar with it. We set a timer for fifteen minutes so that we both would know when the time was up and he agreed to lay quiet and still until the bell rang. We both laid down on my bed, and I held his hand. I had put on some Tibetan Bell music and told him that the sound of the music would help him to relax and to watch for anything he might “see“ when relaxing.

It was a beautiful experience, he laid perfectly still for 15 minutes, his breathing was shallow and he held my hand softly. I went into an altered state very fast, as he must have too. The inner light was beautiful and the unconditional love I felt between us was beyond words. When the buzzer went off, he sat up slowly and looked at me with the most amazing amount of wonder in his eyes. He said, "Did you see all the fog mommy? Wasn't it cool? That barn was awesome we had so much fun!" I got chills, and tears in my eyes because I had seen and experienced the same thing. In more detail, but his confirmation to me, before I said anything was truly a gift. This was the begnning for me - to see that we can “share” memories with our children and with others.

What I experienced -- was that it was the mid 1600‘s, in England, it was cool outside, and very foggy. He was my best friend and we were playing in a barn near my house, I knew we had spent many childhood days playing, working and hiding in that barn. He was a mischievous little boy of about seven and I of about eight. My name was Kayln. His name was Aron.

Daniel continues to amaze - even at 18 years old. ;)

This is an interesting older thread - anyone have experiences they would like to share?

There are some good stories here. I want to add a link for one that Spring and I uncovered. We are working on a couple others. Not sure when they will see the light of day here.

Does anyone else have a shared experience to add?

That happened to me while I was talking with a friend I know IRL (although initially met as a fello CPLer).

He started to tell me about a dream he'd had and I was picking up bits and pieces, but I really couldn't get into it as i was at work.

I waited until I got home and started to write down what I recalled of those bits and pieces, so I could share it with him, and instead what I got was a whole vision ( I call it that because I don't believe that I was remembering something that happened to me, but I'd picked this up from him.

It was very vivid, almost hyper-real. Looking back at the wooden palisade behind me, the full moon overhead, snow crunching under my horse's hooves. And the emotions (the person whose experience I was sharing-which was not the same POV as my friend had, he was experiencing things from another person's POV) were very strong. This guy was really, really, really angry.

There was a chase on horseback through the piney woods, ending in watching the person being chased be murdered by some henchmen.

It was really creepy, I'd read about people having those types of experiences with people sharing their stories, I just never thought I'd have one.
