Some questions:)

Hi, I have a lot of questions about reincarnation. And if anyone wants to share experiences/ opinions with me that would be great:) Also, I apologize if some of my questions have already been brought up in other threads : angel

When looking at a past life, do you identify very strongly with who you were back then, is it like memories, or is it more like watching a movie where you feel strongly for what happens, but you don't view it as "memories"? Do you feel that you would make the same desicions if you were in the same circumstances now? I tried doing a regression, and I didn't really see it as memories, but I identified strongly with what I saw, but didn't feel very much around it even though it was kind of traumatic. I'm not sure if that means that I detached myself from feeling anything in that life (so I detach myself now as well), or that I'm unable to connect with the feelings I had back then. In another case, in a more recent life I pick up some small details from, it's like memories, and I identify very strongly with it.

Do you think you look very similar to the way you looked in a past life? I know that etnisity, culture and time etc would be different, but do you think that other people would think you resemble yourself if you put both your present "you", and the PL "you" next to eachother. lol:) Can you carry on physical conditions/scars/traits from other lives?
I know that when I was a little girl I always saw myself as a brunette (have blonde hair in this life), and I even thought it was a bit strange to have blonde hair, even though blonde hair is normal in my family and where I live :D

Do you often have dreams about a past life? What about daydreaming? Sometimes I create small stories in my head. Some days ago I pictured myself as being an upper class lady in a white dress in England during in the 1800's sometime. And that she got married to a man, but was in love with someone else, and that she was following all the "rules" concerning how to sit, eat, talk and behave that was so rigid at those times, and she got some kind of illness in the end. This story was consciously created, but it almost got a life on it's own, and it just came so natural. Do you think that such thoughts can be past life related?

Ugh, this was a lot of questions, sorry about that lol! I guess it's just so much I want to know about it:) : angel

Hej Seline,

Personally I sometimes remember PL experiences in a very same way I do memories from this current life, but other times it's more like watching things from afar. I still know the things are happening to me, I do "feel" them and might get emotional, but it's not necessarily always so very drastic and consuming.

I think it depends on a person and the particular lifetime/memory. It's very difficult to judge others' experiences saying what should or shouldn't be felt. In time with more "practice" you will be able to tell the difference yourself. :)

I think I've often looked very different from now in a PL, and sometimes there have been similarities to, for example, facial structure. Many people say that eyes tend to stay the same, or that you can just "sense" the same-ness looking at the different incarnations of a same soul. But I think it's certainly possible to carry on physical resemblance, and things such as scars etc. You can find a lot of discussions about birth marks and past lives here on the forum.

I personally can't say that I have PL dreams often these days, but it's because I have a little baby, and I'm too tired for dream work or for even remembering any dreams. I think it's very efficient to ask for PL dreams, and keep a dream journal to practice on remembering the dreams, when you have enough time and get enough sleep.

I think "daydreaming", creating stories in your head or writing them down, is a very good way to access PL memories. Some call it "active meditation". I do this, too, and I often feel like I'm just creating a story, imagining what has happened, also during a regression. I've written short stories all my life, even when I didn't know anything about past lives yet, and I've later realised many stories I wrote as a child are actually of my past lives.

It's important to stay critical with your story creating, though. It doesn't mean everything happened just the way you imagined it, so it's good to try and validate things in some way. In any case I believe there is always meaning to the things we imagine, so even if you wouldn't be remembering past lives, it's good to pay attention to what you're creating.

I will come back later to add some links to earlier threads on these topics.

Hi Seline, no need to apologize for all the questions, it's perfectly normal that you want to find out as much as you can, I was just the same when I found this forum. Karoliina already gave you some great answers and links to read, I'll try and answer some of your questions from my point of view.

When looking at a past life, do you identify very strongly with who you were back then, is it like memories, or is it more like watching a movie where you feel strongly for what happens, but you don't view it as "memories"?
When I'm looking at a past life, it's more than just remembering something like I normally would remember an event in my present life, it's as if I'm actually there, back in the moment and experiencing all the sights, sounds, colors and smells again, and particularly the emotion that goes with it, the emotion can stay with me for several hours, even days after the experience. It can be likened to watching a movie in the sense that it always has exactly the same beginning, middle and end each time I experience it.

Do you feel that you would make the same desicions if you were in the same circumstances now?
I don't think I would necessarily make the same decisions if I were in a similar situation now, in fact i'm sure that past experience would probably influence decisions that I make today, and that is what it's all about really, the soul is constantly growing and learning with each lifetime.

I tried doing a regression, and I didn't really see it as memories, but I identified strongly with what I saw, but didn't feel very much around it even though it was kind of traumatic.
Maybe you weren't fully ready to face the memories that were coming to the surface during your regression, especially if they were traumatic, your subconsciousness will only offer up as much as you can handle in my opinion.

Do you think you look very similar to the way you looked in a past life?
I don't think I bear any physical resemblance to my past life selves, none that I'm aware of anyway. However, certain facial expressions that I make today are the same as in the past. I know this because they almost act as a kind of 'trigger' and make me 'feel' like my past life self if that makes sense. On top of that, most of my memories are of female past lives, and I definately don't look female in this life, although I guess the eyes could stay similar whatever gender you are.

Can you carry on physical conditions/scars/traits from other lives?
There are many cases of physical injury sustained in a past life showing up as birthmarks in subsequent lives. Just do a search for birthmarks in this forum and you'll find a few interesting accounts to read here.

Do you often have dreams about a past life?
I do dream about my past lives occasionally. I suffered with the same nightmare for many years where I kept dreaming about the events leading up to my death, but I always woke up at the same point, just before I died. It wasn't until I regressed and managed to work my way through that death, that the nightmares subsided, and I don't have them nearly as much anymore. I also dream about some of the more pleasant aspects of my past lives from time to time.

Sorry, I really struggled to find an answer to your final question about creating stories in your head. I do believe that past life experience can have an influence on our imagination, after all, where does our imagination come from? I'm not saying that everything we imagine is past life related, we can all imagine what it's like to walk on the moon, but not many of us have done that in a past life: : angel : so I believe your story about the upper class lady could possibly be past life related, but unless you can validate it, then you just have to keep an open mind on it.

Well, there was obviously a reason why my lengthy reply to Seline vanished into e-land when I tried to post it...Chris's response said most of what I said and did it better.

The only thing I would add is that when you come up with a story such as the one you mentioned, try changing elements of it. Imagine the person with an entirely different body type or hair color. If you can do that easily and comfortably, it's imagined.

I've experimented and found that I simply cannot change such things in past life recall. It feels as wrong as lying. There's even a sort of twisting feeling in my head as if the detail is resisting the change and trying to "pop back" to before I tried changing it.

Karoliina, ChrisR, and HerDotness, thanks so much for sharing! It really gave more sense to me when I read your posts. I have to chew abit on the imaginary story I had, to see what it is that is just fiction, and what has a root in reality.

Thanks again:)
