Son's past life

From the time my son was able to speak he talked of his past life. At the age of 18 months he spent ages trying to put a knife on the end of his shoes stating that he used to skate with knives on the bottom of his shoes. He was able to sing along to sixties songs without ever having heard them before. He always would correct me when I told him he was born in a local hospital in New Zealand. He said "No, I was born in Canada." This was before he even knew that Canada was a country. He, even to this day, at the age of twelve, can describe the event of his death. He first spoke of this at about 3 years of age. He says that he was fixing a television antennae on top of the roof of his apartment when he slipped on the instructions and fell to his death. He remembers having a wife and two children. I remember once he said that this was the first time he had lived in a house with a garden. I didn't say anything and he added, in Canada we lived in an apartment building which didn't have any grounds. Although we do not play many sports against Canada, my son will always support the Canadian team over the New Zealand one.

Although I was definitely a skeptic at the beginning I have truely become to believe in reincarnation. We tried not to dissuade him from his beliefs but didn't discuss them either. Each time the topic came up it was instigated by my son. The reason I found this site is because my son wanted to know about reincarnation.

Hi, I'm from the east coast of Canada and find this quite interesting. When your son said that he used to wear boots with knives on the feet, my first memory was of the 1961 Plane Crash which killed the entire US World Figure Skating Team.
I was only born in 1977 but have had many past life memories myself. It sounds like your son was born in Toronto. Is he free to talk about this (does he still do it on his own)? Did he live anywhere else?

Sounds like your son has a very recent past life. Let him explore it. If you can get a name and a possible date, I'm sure that you could probably get microfilmed copies of either Canadian newspapers, or even if you have a definite date and territory, Quebec, Ontario, etcetera, you could probably deal directly with bureau of records departments, although the newspapers would probably be less annoying. Some good works on reincarnation include Dick Sutphen's work,
Carol Bowman, and the Edgar Cayce institute. Books by any of these writers can open up avenues to understand reincarnation. Good luck.

I feel that the best thing you can do for your son is to listen (but not push) to him when he brings it up. If he enjoys talking about it, discuss it a little with him, but don't push him for details or anything.

I've played Hockey all over Ontario for 13 years (I'm 19), so if he happends to remember anything on his own, I'd be happy to do a little research here for you.

Remember though, support is one of a parents most divine gifts. If it is important for him to recall specifc details of that life, he will.

Dear Debs,

I agree with Peter, it is never a good idea to push a child but to let him talk about it and be supportive if he is curious.

I am more curious about some of my past lives than the information I have will allow. I don't know enough about almost all of them but I also realize I know what I need to know.

I feel that if we push children, they will try to please us by 'remembering' more and that we risk these kind of 'memories' as resulting more from a desire to please. If you want to ask any questions, WHEN he does want to talk and asks about it, then ask him what HE THINKS the dreams/memories are telling him.

I think you and I have a similar first name. Kat has always been my shortest nickname for my first name. AND, you and my oldest son were born in the same year! How is that for coincidences? Kat
