The Right Brain

There is a publication called Edge Science that has an interesting article about a doctor who suffered a stroke and was able to examine and document the changes her mind was going through during and after this stroke. Edge Science is offering the issue as a free .pdf download.

I had heard of this before on public radio (I think) and found it interesting then, but the author of this article, Michael Grosso, really made me think about something -
Caregivers should train their right-brain circuits and free up their capacity
for love while moderating the more abstract and less sensitive
left-brain functions.

The following quote is from the last paragraph of the article. It is a wonderfully written article and I wondered if someone else might enjoy it as much as I did.

Dr. Taylor’s call for the re-education of humanity around
the premise of right-brain consciousness is visionary, with a
touch of the messianic. But if her conception is sound—her
experience is one piece of testimony for it—we should listen
carefully. The idea of a science of enlightenment may seem visionary;
but for all we know it may be the wave of the future.

Looks interesting Stardis,

I like their approach. When I get some free time I'll take a look. ;)

Introducing EdgeScience - the new magazine from the SSE.
Why EdgeScience? Because scientific knowledge is still full of unknowns. What remains to be discovered—what we don't know—very likely dwarfs what we do know. And what we think we know may not be entirely correct or fully understood. Anomalies, which researchers tend to sweep under the rug, should be actively pursued as clues to potential breakthroughs and new directions in science.
