Forget Me Not

New Member
Hi everyone...
I've been reading this forum for a bit now and finally wanted to speak. I've found everything that'd I've read very interesting and helpful but I still have questions. I'm only 17 and am still trying to find out the secrets to my soul(that wasn't meant to sound so deep in meaning but it has some truth in it) . And lately I've been thinking about reincarnation (hope I spellt that right?) I've been reading so much on it. I don't know what it is, but I feel like I need to know something. I can't just accept that I've had past lives (I'm believing in it more and more each day) and live this life. I was thinking part of wanting to know may be because my life right now is not to exciting but I'm far from being bored. I guess I want to know more about who I am and why I act the way I do. I guess I want to find out answers to the unexplainable things about myself. It's so hard explain what it is I want to know but it's there. There is that longing. I tried explaining to my friends and talking with them and I'm aprrehensive of talking to my best friend because she is Catholic and doesn't believe in Reincarnation. Anyway, my friends didn't seem to quite understand the questions I had and didn't understand my curiousity. Maybe someone here can shed some light on what I'm seeking or anything they would like to say to me. I've never had any memories but sometimes I feel my dreams can be so real. I very rarely remember my dreams except for two, which till this day I can remember the feelings and happenings.
1. One was not that pleasant in fact it has always terrified me. I had this dream when I was about 10? maybe. What I can remember is it being in the mountains somewhere and I remember in my dream my best friend (I've known her since I was 3) fell over a cliff (just the thought of it is bringing tears to my eyes and it didn't even happen) I heard her scream and scream as she hit a ledge. It was the most frightening thing I have ever heard in a dream. I can still hear the bones cracking. (that was really hard to type cuz I can remember so vividly the sound. ~shudder~) I woke up in a cold sweat. Why is it that i can remember this dream so vividly? Maybe it was just the terror of it? but I've had just as bad nightmares before but never remembered them.
2. Another one of my dreams was aboslutely what a dream should be like... I was at a dance somewhere with a bunch of people I new. It was at night and this little boy (He felt very important to me) gave me a picture of somesort. For some reason it meant sooooo much to me. I started to cry and gave him a hug. then this guy cem behind me and asked me to dance. I think this guy was someone I truly and deeply loved. We danced to a slow dance together and I can't believe how much I wanted to just stay there with him. I've never been in love and the feelings were something I had never felt before. I felt safe and warm and I felt like time was standing still. It is the hardest thing to explain and to me it felt like love. I woke up and immediatley wanted to go back. For a minute I was very upset and was extremely sad to leave and not be with him. It was kinda creepy.
Anyway those are the two dreams that have hit me with feelings I have never felt, and it alone is confusing but maybe it has something to do with a past life? I don't know. I also have this weird thing where no matter how hard I try to just to act myself around people I just can't and automatically become the side of me who wants to be funny (maybe to please ppl) I become shy and tend to not join into conversations knowing fully well that I can. Maybe it's cuz I tend not want to interrupt people or draw to much attention to myself but why? I don't care what people think of me, I'm confident with myself and have my own opinions. Strong opinions might I add, almost stubborn. I dunno I just keep coming back to the idea of reincarnation. My unexplainable interests start from everything to do with Ireland to Swing music and WW2. I loved hiking and forests and when I was little played spy games, everywhere. The thought of living in the forest like Robin hood let's say fasinates and excits me. I remember always building forts and pretending I was escaping and running away from someone. Egypt is another country I enjoy the history of and plan on visiting. Everything to do with Ireland I luv. Druids, folk tales, culture, history, even the accents. And music. Irish flute music is my fave and I enjoy playing it. Now I know this may sound repetetive of alot of ppl but I'm very interested in the Titanic. I've been obsessed with it ever since I can remember. I would read all the books about it when I was in elementary. When I took swimming lessons I feared treading water on my own. and on boats I'm always uneasy and restless. Row boats are ok but large ferries and bigger...scary. And I hate being cold. I absolutely hate it! It scares me sometimes when it gets really bad outside. Cold wind and just being cold makes me uneasy. It's something I can't explain the meaning of. What else is really strange, when I was little for years I was terrified of fires. Nightmares, staying up all night fearing a fire, checking the alarm...it was awful. These are just some of the weird things about myself I can't explain why, just are. I just think maybe knowing more about my past lives may bring some answers to the reasons why I act the way I do today. It's nice to get that all down. Please if you have any comments or suggestions I would really appreciate your opinions and questions. thanks for listening and sorry if it is a bit long. I tend to ramble.
Luv always

Feel free to ramble on. That's what we're here for.
As far as your dreams of your friend dying on the fall off the cliff. It would seem logical to me that it is indeed related to a past life experience. Most images that I have had related to past lives tend to be very emotional, and easily remembered, even months or years later I can still see the same image in my mind, no matter how much I may WANT to change it.
Your dream of a lover's dance seems also quite possibly related to a past existence, although I think I'd probably 'dog' you for more details so that I could link it to a time and possibly a place. (I love analyzing things. Just ignore me)
As far as wanting to live in Robin Hood's forest, ME TOO! I believe that I have had at least one life in Atlantis, as an astrologer.
A desert, nomadic Jew?/Christian? @ 70-80AD life in Rome, as a animal keeper for the coliseum about 200A.D., one in Celtic Britain 352AD. Middel Ages Britain or Europe. Chinese peasant peddler with a MUSK OX! 1600 England, Just before the French Revolution as a tutor. A Mine owner in wales or Scotland. Lighthouse keeper in Connecticut or Maine. A Civil war officer born in Gettysburg. and A WW2 woman who found herself working both sides of the issue in Nazi Germany.
So, you want to talk..rambling?

Hi Forget me Not... what a lovely name, especially for this forum. First of all, I think you are so lucky to be exposed to the idea of reincarnation at such a young age. I was raised a Catholic many years ago, and we were taught that it was a sin to believe in reincarnation, even though the church and other religious sects taught it in the very early years of the church. It was abandoned as a teaching, because (their reason) people would live as they pleased and figured they would come back in the next life and make up for it. Also, they felt if people thought to much about what they were in the past, they would not concentrate on the present. Personally, I think the real reason was to keep people down, squash their independence, and keep them under the control of the church, because if you cant control someone's thinking, you lose your power. I think you are having past life feelings. You are very articulate and I hope you are writing your feelings down somewhere. I think you and your girlfriend probably agreed to come to this life together, reason right now unknown. Maybe, she is having to face something difficult and needs you, or vice versa. Anyway, it appears that you are here together for a purpose. As for your second dream, It warmed my heart, because I know you will find your true-love (your soulmate) in this lifetime. I know what love feels like, and you felt it in your dream. Have you seen the movie (video) "Made in Heaven"? Its a wonderful reincarnation love story. I think your interests in a variety of subjects probably trigger some remembrance of past lives. I think we have one eternal soul that experiences many bodily incarnations, and some incarnations stand out more than others. The reason we are here? Highly individual. I'm almost 70 and am still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up. It's hard when you are young to try and talk about reincarnation with peers (even parents) because immediately they think "cult". So, just hang in there because I have a feeling you are going to do something very important in your lifetime. I think this board is a great forum for you to "come and talk to".
Cat made me think of something I havent really thought before, but as she recounted her lifetimes, I thought what if we all just keep coming back over and over, like flowers, the same souls, just different bodies. Maybe that is why we respect our dead and worship our ancestors... they was us. Hope to hear more from you. Love.

Thanks so much catseye and barbara for replying. Your replys were so positive and really brought me into a good mood. Catseye, oh I do hope that the dream of a lover’s dance is from a past life. And I’m feeling more confident that it might be from reading what you said. And I would be more then willing to answer questions about my dream. It’s the feelings that come across the strongest but I can try my best to describe and answer questions. That is so cool that you too have a want to live in a Robin Hood Forest. I don’t know what it is but it sounds exciting and enlightening. Not to mention adventurous. I love adventures. Exploring new places. I would be totally interested in hearing anything else about your past lives if you would like to share. Sounds interesting. It’s really nice to beable to get stuff off my mind about this kind of stuff. And to get such welcoming responses is and extra bonus in my mind. It makes me happy! Barbara thank you for the compliment on my name. I thought it was very fitting for this forum even though I thought of it not really thinking about. I agree with your idea on how the church just wanted to keep people under their control. In some ways I wish they hadn’t because now everyone thinks reincarnation is related to the occult. I was in the book store the other day and looked up some books on reincarnation, on the computer and found that they suggested to look in the occult section. I’m sure some people will and could take it to that level. But I don’t believe it is anything bad. Am I correct in saying that it is really a learning process for the soul? Mind you I still know so little but eager to learn that’s for sure. I do write my feelings down. Well I try to anyway, when I get a chance to. Write always helps me vent out my problems and questions which is why I’m starting to love this forum even more because I don’t just get to pour it all out I get such nice and encouraging replies. The funny thing about what you said Barbara about my friend and I choosing to come to this life together and helping each other through something difficult was that before I read your reply I thought to myself that she and are a lot like sisters. Even though we have lived in very different worlds, and hardly ever get to see each other, for some reason our friendship has stuck together for years. People often think we are sisters for some reason even though the only similarity between us is the hair color and eye color. But the color is about it. In my eyes she is my sister and it’s interesting to think people mistake us for sisters. Anyway then I read you reply and I smiled. I really do believe God has put us together for a reason. You have no idea how much it made me happy and smile that you believe I’ll find my soulmate. It’s something that I always dream of and think about everyday. And if love is what I felt in my dream then I can’t wait. Makes me all warm and fuzzy inside (as the saying goes). I love fairy tales and happy romance tales. I love movies with a sappy love story. I tend to really like the guys who have their own ambitions and own dreams that they would do anything to achieve but also seem to fall head over heels for that right girl. Which makes movies like the new A Knight’s Tale one of my faves. Anyway it made me really happy to know that you feel I will find my true-love. And I definitely will have to see that movie. Do you really think I’ll do something very important in this lifetime? One goal I do have is to live life to the fullest and experience all that I can. Traveling is one thing I plan on doing soon. I really want to see the world. See it’s variations. And explore. I picture myself exploring Egypt especially and Britain. The medieval times is another one of my extreme likes. That and King Arthur’s tale. Do people often remember their past lives? Or do memories come to you maybe because they need to be dealt with or could help in some way? Barbara I noticed on your profile that you are an artist. Art is one of my own deep passions. It’s part of who I am you could say. I’m particularly interested in the French Impressionists. And I admire them. Ok I really should stop talking! I’m sorry if this is too long. I just have so much to share and so much to ask. Thank you again. Talk to you soon. Luv Kirst

Hi Forget Me Not

You know, maybe people think you and your friend are sisters because that is the aura/energy that you give off to them, and so that is what they perceive. A deep and loving bond carries over in many lifetimes, so it’s no surprise you and your friend both feel this “connection” to each other and present it in such a way to the outside world.

As for your second dream, it seems you heart recognised the boy, so maybe it was given to you as message of love…one that you recognize, one that you have had in the past, and one you will share again in the future…a very beautiful dream…the emotions can only be a result of a “known” that already exists to you – and maybe a sign/flag for you to recognize the same person in this life, by the feelings and emotions that come over you in their presence

Sounds like an exciting and love-filled opportunity ahead of you….

Lots of Love

Hi Nonagaurd!

Welcome. My sincere condolances for the loss of your little one.

It's okay to be christian and to believe in reincarnation. In fact, it's okay to be anything and believe in anything! (I hope that makes sense). It sounds like Spirit has brought you evidence of reincarnation through your daughter and your miscarriage. In exploring, I would just go with what feels right to you. Also, there is a lot of information in the forum as well as the Reincarnation Frequently Asked Questions. A good book is "Many Lives, Many Masters" by Brian L. Weiss.

Look forward to reading more on your experiences!

Susie
