What happens between lives, from child's perspective

I find this so interesting. I heard my son and his cousin at around 4 & 6, 5 & 7 talking about where they knew each other up in heaven waiting with the other babies before they picked their mothers and were born. They were so confident about it and my son had never heard anything but Christianity and his cousin’s parents are atheist.

I'm 50, about to turn 51. I signed up here specifically to reply to this thread. I remember, somewhat vaguely now, but more clearly years and years ago as a very small child, 2 specific things. One is the waiting room. The other, I'll get to in a moment.

I remember being in the room, in the queue, along with others, waiting my turn. I remember remembering a big book at the open doorway we would walk out of before going to be born. I don't specifically recall that book any longer, I just know that memory was once there. This was a part of my existence that just was. I didn't question it.

Once many years later when I was in my thirties, I became engaged in conversation with my boss's son. He recalled almost the same memory of pre birth and we had quite an energetic conversation about it as he was the first person I had actually heard had had a similar experience. I put more thought at that point into what I had always known in my heart, and soul, to be the truth, which brings me to the second point.

From the time I was very small, I didn't believe in reincarnation, I KNEW, deep inside that was just the way it was. I did not know the word for it. I was sent to Sunday school on occasion, not regularly, but often enough. I remember wondering why no one was talking about it. I remember thinking are they all keeping the same secret and pretending that they believe what the preacher is saying? I could not have been more than 4 years old.

I developed an instant distaste for religion as a result. It was basically a lie to me. One day, though, in 2nd grade, I received my summer weekly reader. I have tried to locate it over the years, but as it was just a thin newsprint type leaflet, I'm sure not many survived.

Imagine my surprise, relief and fascination upon reading the story of a little girl from India, whose culture believed in reincarnation. At last, I had the word to fit the thought and the knowledge.

I just wanted to share.

Lastly I have discovered through much thought that reincarnation has a place in all religions. If one listens, the concept matches well to the interpretive narrative of the preacher. Also, reincarnation explains very well all of that which religion vaguely brushes off or denies. God's will, yes, it is God's will, with a purpose bigger than is taught. Reincarnation explains gender issues, sexuality, so much more. It explains all of those things that don't make sense otherwise to a faithful God fearing congregation.

That is my experience, thank you for allowing me to share it here.
