Missing someone from another place and time

This life has been a great one! I have great kids I have a wonderful family and a man that loves me but something and someone has always been missing. My heart aches for someone that I have no idea who he is. My soul longs for a home that I don’t know where it is but I know it’s not here. I have had one flash of a memory. I was driving and my grandson sneezed and I said bless you, but when I said it I had a flash. I was holding hands with a little boy and we were laughing and spinning in a circle. I couldn’t see him all I could see was our feet. We both wore old shows from an earlier time and I had a dress that went to my ankles. I knew he was mine because I had an overwhelming love for him. I could smell a fire burning and see a wooden plank floor. We were waiting for someone to come home, I could feel the love and excitement for this man we was waiting for. This flash was just a few seconds but it felt like time had slowed down it was so intense that I was overcome with joy not sadness. The love was so strong nothing like I have ever known. Do you think this was a past life memory? Sometimes I am overcome with such sadness for this man because I miss him so much. Its crazy cause you think it would be for the little boy but I feel at peace with him. It just the man I never saw. What’s your thoughts on this?

Hi Jupiterstarchild !

I recognize myself in your experiences. I think it could very well be past life related. For me when there is a person "hiding" like the boy was in your memory, you did not get to see his face it is that there is some pain there you are not ready to meet. At least you get to know of him, of his existence, for me I have had people simply erased for long before they have come to surface and was then naturally blended in with the rest. All in it's time. When you described the man I recognize the love and yearning and the unfinished business you go through with a father figure, for me, from the 1920's. I was later shown this had been my Papa in a life during that time.

The positive thing is that I have recognized and in some cases suspect I know some people in my life to have been in my past lives as well. Tune in to their essence, their little quarks etc. Both the man and the boy might be with you right now, you may just not be aware of them having been reincarnated with you.

For me it is as if I had inherit the feeling of being worried about someone (from a past life) and despite logic reason the feeling remains, til I one day realized, really felt deep down the realization, that me having worried so much is because I loved so much; they go together. Just like I am always at my daughter to look both way before crossing a street etc, one is always there to try to avoid the person you love getting hurt or worse. So negative feelings are there - for a good reason. Love.

Thank you so much for your reply. I’m so glad I found this forum or it found me. It helps a lot knowing that other people have had the same experiences.

Flashes and déjà-vus like yours happen to me, too; very vague and uncertain, leaving sweet and sad impressions. Maybe not so often related to persons, but to places. Some rural landscapes and old little towns drive me mad sometimes...

Me too... I am over come with happiness sometimes and what’s crazy is I know it’s not my happiness in this world but some other time somewhere else, if that even makes sense or maybe I’m just crazy

I struggled with this for a LONG time. I attained it to two things: (these really happened to me in a PL and my current lifetime)

1) I was physically denied a right to say goodbye to someone who was dying and had passed. I was left with a “physical longing” and carried that into my current lifetime. I’m STILL healing it slowly..

2) I was longing for my twin soul. I re-discovered him when I was 27 in this lifetime. He’s in Spirit as my Spirit Guide now.

Hi, my name is Rennan, and i'm really glad that i am able to find people like me, a few months ago, i came across a jazz song, and it took my breath away, i was filled with tears, i never felt that way before, and ever since that happened, a dream keeps taking me back to 1920's in new york, it was winter, and i was wearing a coat and a tuxedo underneath it, i enter at some club where they were playing jazz and i met a beautiful woman, she had white blouse tucked into a blue skirt, with wavy mild length brown hair, she touches my cheek and i notice a ring on her hand, and then she gives me a nice big smile and says: what took you so long, shall we dance now. And then i take my coat off and i say: sorry things were a little rough at the bank. The last thing i remember is looking at her face and thinking that i'm the luckiest man on earth. She apears on my dreams often, but to be honest i never actually believed in reincarnation, but the way i miss this person, the way my heart hurts sometimes, i just can't explain who she is.

That makes me sad for you because of the pain of missing them..

Hi Rennan, a warm welcome to you, I think I had a past life in the early 1920s too, I feel for you :)

I understand all who lost someone in another time and place. I still grieve for friends I lost in the war. It never really goes away.

It never really does go away, but the richest thing is knowing we will see them in another lifetime, or in my case them being my Spirit Guide..

I think it is okay to still grieve because it means in that lifetime you didn’t really finish grieving to begin with.

I noticed most types of these longings (place, era, events, etc.), but honestly I've never experienced this one (missing someone from an other life with intensive, lasting emotions). Once I had a possibly PL related dream when I worried about my children (I don't have children in my current life), that was an intense feeling, but it only exists on subconscious levels. Also, I had a symbolic dream with a fellow Gestapo officer who was close to me at a collegiate level, and it looks like he possibly meant more than simply just that. Maybe we were close friends, I don't know the truth yet. But the dream symbolised a very close relationship. However, when I'm in a conscious state, I don't feel the longing (yet?).

There's a family member in my present life who's so important to me that I already know I'd fall to pieces without her. Maybe because she was important to me in a previous life too and I lost her too soon, so I'm constantly worrying about her in this life. Unfortunately I don't know what kind of role she had in my previous lives...

Yes, and in my case I didn't even start grieving in that lifetime, as they were people who died after I did. So in a way it's a present-life loss. Complicated situation, but the feeling's the same I guess.

Tanker, if they died after you did, wouldn’t have been richer than the grief itself to meet them as they passed over? When I passed in 1945, I was spiritually asleep until 1951, therefore I had little chance to greet my Papa when he passed in 1951. Does that make me feel sad like I want to grieve? No it doesn’t because I was reunited with him once again.

But everyone grieves differently, and I have no right to judge you on that, just giving my humble opinion.

I keep thinking to myself if isn't there a way to go back, it feels like i just lost everything so abruptly, i don't know exactly how i died, and i can't wrap my mind around it, but i have a birthmark on the right side of my forearm, like a burn scar, does that mean anything?

Eva I'm not quite sure what that means, but as I've never had any experience of a 'between lives' phase, I can't really say. I came back almost straight away after I died, so all I know is the end of one life and the beginning of another, as if it was continuous. This is why I always say I feel like a war veteran now, just telling my stories as I remember. It feels kind of like the same life, then and now. So I'm unaware of meeting anyone in some kind of 'between' phase, as I just came straight back.

Tanker, some choose to return straight away. I have noticed those who do, usually find the aspect of life difficult, but not life itself.

I tell my war stories like a veteran now too. Sometimes I have to be careful how I tell them because I can’t just say “well when I was in Germany as a persecuted Jew and the love of my life was an SS officer..” I know how you feel with the ‘same life’ as aspect too. Sometimes it blurs into one. Often I find some lessons are learned again hence why this feeling sometimes.

I hope that explanation helped.

I'm a bit puzzled by what you mean that those who return straight away 'usually find the aspect of life difficult, but not life itself.' Could you tell me more about that?

Hi Tanker! :)

From my own observations, I’ve met a few souls who came back straight away or a few linear months later and brought with them the last life’s troubles with them in weight. What I mean by the ‘aspect of life’ is the lessons they have chosen to learn, while ‘life itself’ for them appears to be from an outsider, quite comfortable and for some, it looks almost ‘too easy’.

Advanced souls like myself and others who are old souls, often choose the most difficult lessons or things to heal that weigh them down quite significantly (this often occurs in old souls who ‘inherit’ conditions like Fibromyalgia and CFS/ME that I mention in these thread here: http://reincarnationforum.com/threads/chronic-fatigue-and-past-lives.9309/ ). Those are the ones who while they may not come back straight away (some do) it’s the ‘aspect of life’ that they find difficult.

I hope this helps,

Eva x
