Are we here for a purpose?

I'm not happy with the stage this world is in and I dream of another way we could live (I won't go into detail because, sadly, discussing politics isn't allowed here and imagining a different world is ALWAYS political!). Anyway, having discovered a political position and movement that suits my ideals, I now wonder whether this has always been planned by my soul before this life of whether I have made this choice on my own...
And if you have memories of previous lives or visions or the next: do/did these lives had a pre-planned purpose as well or do you think that your incarnations had their own choice?

Personally I believe that we choose and pre-plan certain conditions (like the surrounding we grow up in), maybe even some events, but still have a choice. A bit like an actor who has a basic script but still is free to improvise, even to ignore it entirely.

Makes me wonder what my script is...and what prompted my soul to choose this life. Do you know how I could find out?

The big answer is convoluted and we're not all here for our personal benefit, if it were only karma that would be too easy. Think of it like the Matrix where you got some middle and upper management pulling the strings deciding the narratives while those on top basically get to use humanity to their own ends. It wasn't always like this as Earth was meant as a rehab for souls while providing all the experiences most derive value in their personal lives as well what they get to experience with others. As for desiring to leave to a much better place we're on the same page and really look forward to moving on feeling out of place as this world has moved beyond what I am able to work with. Not happy honestly with the usual personalities that are so common place these days.

Lia, you find out by living your life. It's yours, remember that. When it's time to go, it's you and death. As you approach that reality, you will have plenty of opportunity to discover a meaning that is unique to you. Sometimes, declaring no purpose is ones purpose. Sometimes, importance is relative. But whatever it is, it is your life. Invest in these desires to live life in a way that means cultivating happiness free from any external circumstance. I promise if you operate from this reality it will have an effect on your environment. I have been reflecting as you are now, and I think this is something many of us are facing as we endure a transition better known as the fourth turning. Our own advertisements in America even admit a fourth industrial revolution is here despite such verbiage being a no-no for us simple and curious folk in its early phases. We are alive in very exciting times, troubling- yes. But there is opportunity here. As you pursue your ideal, even if subject to change, I believe that opportunity means experiencing joy and wonder. Whatever happens in this world, remember, we will return our bodies to this Earth.

Change is constant. Nature teaches us the value of cycles. Consider that developing countries have most always had warring ideals. Our collective past is quite dark. And "leaders" most of which are better known as tyrants have manipulated their subjects for decades. Sadly this weaponized relay of information has evolved alongside with us. Still. There is so much beauty to be found. And it starts by understanding what's important to you. We are to recognize both a limited material self affected by time and space, and an awareness or experience that may transcend this reality. The religious philosophies consider this the Ego vs the Soul. My experience is that neither are to be viewed as, "wrong." But to acknowledge the dance and grow as you would by living your life. You can not deny the shift happening, "shift" is always happening. =P But I think the warring ideals of today are civic nationalism vs globalism, which is a small reflection of a much larger change in which we are all going through. In my very recent past I was overwhelmed. I had almost lost hope and felt completely disheartened by the level of harmful intent that plagues our lives. I felt weak and was becoming angry. I know I don't want to live my life as an angry person. Instead an increasing desire to know my enemy has awakened. That is, to recognize the poisons that plague us so I might be able to move around it. And most recently, this opportunity has given me hope that it is possible to overcome the manipulation, toxins and hatred. With a drop of sincerity, a living intelligent force responds in kind. I have even experienced a beautifully rewarding moment of transcending an infected environment. But even if I'm not able to do that, I still find joy in rearranging my internal landscape to better understand what is happening so I may move freely in a otherwise very repressed and fearful world.

Recognizing the war, and the rewarding mystery of the Spirit, accepting this self imposed challenge and understanding my dual nature- a lot of this rubbing out rough edges has actually become deeply gratifying on a soul level. I suppose that means having a sense of purpose.

And lastly, dear Lia- reclaim your narrative. Our internet super-highway of information and mass communication is like a double-edged sword. So many people are living someone else's reality. Live yours.

Loving regards,
~CP

The thing is, how we structure our society - any society - has nothing to do with it being "the natural way" but with culture. It's all artificial in the sense that humans invented and built it so humans can change it. Money, borders, states are all invnentions and we can come together and change things to live beyond the need for those. :)

Thank you for those kind and wise words! I also feel like change is in the air. Especially the youth, to which I still belong at this point, demand change on various topics from climate change to child raising. Let's see where that demand for change is leading to.
I for one would love to reincarnate as a girl to open parents (and to an older sister) and to a better society.

I'm just wondering, have you ever seen a horror movie? There are very many of them out there, so maybe you have. I'm wondering how many of them use politics as the central theme. I don't know the answer as I've not attempted to gather statistics. Actually I think the central theme is usually some sort of evil force or power.

Now I invite you to think of the exact opposite of a horror movie. Something where things are very different, but the central theme is some sort of powerful force of love or of goodness. This is the sort of different world I dream of, where the mundane, everyday reality is somehow illuminated from within, metaphorically speaking, energised by this power of love. This would be a way of conceiving of a different world.

Well, think of Alien for instance where capitalism is still there in the far future. Also, one doesn't need to make a direct political statement to be political. Just depicting our current system as good or even normal is a political statement as the systems we live in are carried by a political ideology. One cannot live without one. If you're interested on chatting further with me about politics, I would love to start a private conversation with you but I don't know how to do that.

I appreciate the discussion and invitation to explore further. However, personally for me politics is not my favourite topic. I think maybe I overdosed on that subject during my upbringing and I steer well clear. On the other hand, I am very interested in spirituality, which is a very broad topic and was really what I was getting at in my previous post.

Going to be straight with you that I am not a globalist and I find myself disagreeing with both the structure of society as well pretty much just about everything else that there is no natural balance while only serving a few who are able to perform well while enjoying its benefits. Most only just manage one way or another often at a cost to themselves and their families. As for the ideologies the young is just recycled garbage that led to so much suffering not all that long ago and frankly takes a dark heart to support in light what is had done in places like the Soviet Union and China. As for the capitalist systems anyone with a functioning mind that it is unsustainable and aside from war is a slow death both for human and the Earth. The utopia the young think they can wish out of thin air is nothing but a lie for which themselves will be destroyed for which it will only be for the elites should it ever come to be. All in all this all is just baggage humanity keeps reliving over and over again every time civilization advances enough it ends up going through a cycle like this where ultimately reverts back into the stone ages because the template it is developed from is deeply flawed. The souls themselves carry the baggage while those who decide the narratives do very little if not care altogether thus repeating the past as often the case is with people in their personal lives from one to the next.

I‘m not a globalist either, I’m an anarchist (from Greek meaning „without rulers“). I believe in a society without states. Furthermore, there is scientific evidence that humans lived without the need of states and capitalism for a very long time and that states make up only a fracture of humanity’s existence on Earth. An example of an egalitarian society before the existence of states is Catalhöyük.

Hi, everybody.

I'll speak only for my case.

I don't think that this whole present life was planned for me beforehand for some purpose.
Just because I don't see any macro purpose, only several separate fragments of purposes.

I can see, nevertheless, some elements in this life of mine that I can only interpret as a kind of a punishment (or a compensation/trade-off/bargain) for a post-mortem whim of mine, not for what I did (or did not) in my PL, but in LBL, when I, I believe, refused to re-incarnate soon after I had been killed in a war, and passed some 20 years as a Guardian Angel near my PL invalid cousin, until I helped him just enough so that he could raise two sons who could help him in the field works (in rural Tuscany, Italy).

With respect to politics, I prefer to look at it in a kind of a Galactic way.
I've read recently that it looks like the Milky Way is full of dead (self-destroyed) civilizations. Fermi paradox explained.
So, why this one should be an exception? There are many factors that indicate that soon everything here will be over, too.

It's a pity, I got accustomed to this world, but it doesn't matter on the large scale.
We'll be reincarnating into some other younger worlds - the Universe is big enough, for this.

Smth. like this.

IMHO.

Best regards.

That is an interesting thought in regards to you punishment in LBL. I have very specific ideas for my next life. This makes me wonder whether we’re only allowed to be in LBL for a certain time as you implied.
Also, do you have more information on LBL such as can you meet other souls you have met in your PL and can you meet new souls to plan a new life with? I want to have parents with a very progressive view on child raising and a big sister as well.
In regards to your opinion on the world ending soon. I wouldn’t be so pessimistic: we had several instances where the world could have ended (WW2 & fascism, the Cold War which could have become hot) and now it could be climate change.
If it were to end soon (how soon would that be, you think?), I would be saddened too. And I was wondering what would happen to our souls. And what these younger worlds would look like and what kind of species we would reincarnate. Humanoid? Mammals? Or are you talking about a parallel Earth? Or a new Earth?

Usually those who ascribe themselves to be anarchists are globalists and are big supporters of totalitarian ideology. I am well aware of how it was prior in old world tribal cultures but anything that goes again basic freedoms much less being able to think and feel on ones own terms I have big issues with especially current society where political correctness is compulsory. Utopians will never fail to amaze me how badly they can screw things up as these souls have yet to truly understand the reality of the human condition and no amount of wishful thinking is going to resolve problems being that such thinking often requires a type 2 or a type 3 post scarcity civilization which is unrealistic. I am doubtful the majority of the souls in this world are capable as their natures don't allow for it especially the violence and propensity for social issues.

I think you may have confused anarchism with communism. Anarchists are anti-authoritarian and anti-globalist favoring a society with small autonomous yet interconnected communities in favor of bloaed states and union of states. Also, it's not the "reality of the human condition" to rule over people and be violent and wage war against each other. THAT's patriarchy! Just because our way of life has been like this for 5000 years (it wasn't always this way and there is archeological evidence for that!) doesn't mean that it has to be this way. Because while a true utopia cannot exist, there still can be other ways of structuring society and live peacefully together. That doesn't mean that there won't be arguments but those can be solved differently than how we tend to solve them now. You arguing that it cannot be better is as if a medieval peasant laments that it will be impossible to elect your leaders and look where we are now! It won't be perfect in the new society but it will be a start.

Maybe a nudge towards a discussion of reincarnation? Anarchism, communism, totalitarianism ... this thread is veering quite some distance away from the purpose of this forum.

That's true but I still wanted to correct about the misconception about a political movement that I support. ;) Maybe I should have done this in a private message...if I knew how to do private messages. I still don't :/

However, I still think that, in some cases, discussing politics is necessary even when talking about reincarnation. One could have been or could become a politician in another life, for instance. ;)

It is discussed in this thread:

Usually it is just a matter of requesting that ability to be added. It does depend on having been a forum member for some time first, I think.

This is certainly a valid case where it would make sense to discuss that topic, and would usually be within the remit of the forum.

Hi, Lia:

It's not LBL that I wanted to be in longer than is usual for cases like mine. I only wanted to help my cousin, who was crippled since his birth.
He went to Taranto to recover my dead body, and he organized my funeral in Tuscany - the only more or less adequate man among all the relatives not called up for the military service (Italy was already in the WW2), due to his state of health. He wept like a child at the funeral. I understood that he really counted on me in his life plans, and I decided to make up for his losing me, because I really had been strong and full of energy in my PL. Many men got killed in the war and the women were somewhat less unwilling to marry a cripple. I only left him and reincarnated when his elder son became 15 y.o.

So, in my regressions I got no info about LBL and meeting other souls - I was only interested in helping my cousin as his Guardian Angel, and I did.
If I was punished in my present life (not in LBL !) in some way, it was just for this, and for delaying my last reincarnation by this very reason.
He also was my Guardian Angel since he died about 1985, and a very smart one, because all his interventions still look to me like real miracles: he was really smart, you see, when a man is physically deficient, he can only become smart, smarter than most of the physically normal men around him, I guess. I admired his intellect since those two weeks that I passed on their farm in Tuscany (we were both some 15 years old), helping in the field works in an emegency - and I cried when we parted and I had to return home.

As to the eventual Apocalypse, I think that there must be some Law of Nature that most (if not all) civilizations should self-destroy themselves sooner or later. I'm not so keen on the politics to base my conclusions on any concrete terrrestrial material. Just look up something about the famous Fermi Paradox, and you'll see better my point, if you're interested.

So, wish you all the best, and take care in these turbulent times.

IMHO.

Thanks for your reply. :)
That was quite a moving recollection of events. I don't know what to say. I have absolutely no memories of a past life though even as a small child I had the feeling that, if you died, you'd HAVE to come back in another body, it only seemed logical. And I wonder whether my huge interest in Est Asia (particlular China and Japan) since my early childhood could point towards a past life in that region.
Also, I know about the Fermi paradox very well since I'm a huge science fiction fan. :)
But you still haven't completely asnwered my final question:

Hi, Lia:

'Younger world' means a world where civilization appeared later, than here on Earth, and so, they still have more time until they self-destruct (according to that Law I mentioned before).

And I mean the same Universe we are living in. Parallel Universes sound intriguing, but they're still very hypothetical.

So it could be called "A New Earth", following your terminology.

Well, and now about how soon would the Apocalypse come?

I guess, nobody knows. Maybe to-morrow - somebody pushes that button by mistake, and voilà !

Or maybe some decades from now, or some centuries, or never, depending on how rapidly the intellectual level of the world politicians degenerates, and on a lot more (mostly unknown) factors.

As I'm not particularly keen on politics, I'm the least indicated person to know the correct answer.

And as to what kind of species we would reincarnate into - is it so important?

On the large scope the Earth's humans are nothing so special, compared to any other hypothetical beings suitable for reincarnation in other possible worlds.

So, what does it matter whether it will be mammals or reptiles or anything else? We should not be so human-centric, I think. Chi vivrà - vedrà.

Best Regards.

IMHO.

So, what does it matter whether it will be mammals or reptiles or anything else? We should not be so human-centric, I think. Chi vivrà - vedrà.

Best Regards.

IMHO.

Well, considering humans aren't the only mammals on the planet, it wouldn't be human-centric to still want to be a mammal... ;)
I would want to be a human (or a mammalian extraterrestrial species of a younger world) for a very personal reason connected to a trauma as a newborn in this life. (Will my unfulfilled wishes and desires in this life influence my choice for a next life? | Reincarnation Forum)

It is all the same as it all comes from the same source worse still this is not natural to this world as past demographics didn't have such. This is not human as people in those times had nothing like this and wherever exactly these newer souls came from had been detrimental to this world. Also I see that you spend a sometime on an AI controlled hive mind that being twitter. I hate to say it but this world is going to fail be it low or no population because of all this. As for 5,000 years some of us have been here a lot longer than that be it the neolithic while some have a clear connection going back to Lumuria and Atlantis with the later having failed around 11,500 years ago with the younger dryas event. I wish these younger souls would incarnate back to wherever they came from last so this world can have a chance if all else not go where the older souls go to as I am really tired of having to live with this. My last life in Europe was destroyed because of it and so many died. As for Lumuria that could have been far back as 50,000 years before it went under so making older souls go through all this is a huge disrespect.

Live yours.

Loving regards,
~CP
