2yr old golfer

My son is 2 1/2 he seems to have some of what Ihave read on this subject. He has taken to the game of golf with obssesion! Its all most all he thinks about... We have also seen him walk around with a object like a french fry or a stick and pretend he is smoking, no one around him smokes, and I mean know one...I ask him who taught him to smoke he says "no one - I smoke" then lately he has been talking about tornados, and how they tore up his house and crashed his car. He has not even been around anything like this, he is curious about thunder, but no scared. Also not a night goes by that around 1:30 to 3:30 am he does'nt have to have his dad sleep with him, he wakes up crying daddy. He is very close with his father - I am curious how to get more info out of him? To know what this means, he seams to talk about this info as if he has done it, I know he has not been exposed to it.
Your help is appreciated.... I love stuff like this and I believe in it!

Kathy, really enjoyed hearing about your son. Does your husband play golf, or is he exposed to it, as in a game of miniature golf? Has he used any terms or words appropriate to the game that would be unlikely for a 2 year old? If he should talk again about a toronado, ask him where it was or what kind of car he had. I really believe in reincarnation, and think children only remember in a brief window of time, from about 2 to 5 years. Would like to hear more about him. Thanks.

This is a very interesting story, and I can understand your curiosity. I was particularly interested in the issue of your son waking up crying in the middle of the night. My son, who is the same age, does this as well, during the same time of night. I have often wondered he could possibly be dreaming that is so traumatic. Perhaps getting your son to talk about his past experiences will help him as it did with the many children in Carol's book. Maybe your husband could help in that regaurd, since your son seems to be very comfortable with him. What a fascinating child. Please do keep us informed.

I have a son that is about to be 3 and he is obsessed with ice hockey. We live in alabama and have really no ties to it. I am from ny and my hubby has started to watch and such. I mean he imitates their actions without error like he knows what he is doing. I am trying to push the sport since he is interested in doing this. He also talks in his sleep about hockey and has to sleep with his hockey sticks every night. Does this seem like wishful thinking or maybe something real? Love lhagan77

This thread reminded me that I was out with a friend a few months ago. We saw a young man--a teenager--dressed in '80's-like clothing and sporting a mohawk. My friend and I immediately remarked to each other how "*Someone* needs to come out of the '80's," and I wondered simply to myself how a person who was so young or just born in the '80's would have a mohawk. I mean, nowadays someone with a mohawk is like a fox in a henhouse; he stands out that much.
I also am triggered now of having seen *several* teenagers (mid or late teens) walking together, each dressed in black, sporting heavy, heavy black makeup and black hair. Their style was what we saw in the '80's at the mall all the time.

I am curious too as to what could drive a person to embrace or obsess an element of style or hobby like this, to the point that they would stand out in a crowd. I mean, look around at all the people who have lived before as well, and you don't see them grasping onto their past life in this manner.

Hi,
I thought I had something to contribute to this discussion. I'm 17 and love the 70's, but I have a problem. My eras just don't make sense! I love Steeleye Span and Donny Osmond??? How does that work (?) they are completely different age things!!! Anyway that's just me if anyone could do some Math and sort out my eras, I'd be grateful! I mean it's not as if my Mom likes Donny! It could be the fact i like older men though? I also love 70's clothes and Lava Lamps and stuff but also I love now! And DJ those peeps are Goths there are a number of Goth bands around so maybe they like it from now? Anyway it could be that teens with todays multiculture have trouble finding ways of rebeling and standing out so go back in time to find there inspiration?
