My son who is almost 8 years old, has been getting more fearful by the day it seems.
He is afraid of the dark, he is afraid of being taken and his sister being taken, he is afraid of storms, fire/tornado drills, me dieing (bad one and in may different ways), he does not want to play sports anymore because he is afraid of being hurt. Pretty much you can find fear anywhere with him. He is afraid in Laser tag that the older kids have real guns...(but he still keeps playing)
Fortunately, he is still a happy kid, he goes to school, birthday parties ect with out problems. He does not like me leaving him during activities. He is doing well in school this year. Last year was tough for him academically. We thought it all surrounded him just being younger and not ready yet. Everything for him has been he can't ... he would get really frustrated doing any reading or math at home because he would say he is "stupid".......
I finally yesterday I took him to see a woman that I know well that does EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) thinking that may help him. She found something VERY interesting..... because of the extent of all his fears (I gave her a lot more detail) and that there really wasn't anything in his life so far that would cause him to be so fearful. She did past life regression with him........ here is what she found.
During the time when she getting info from him... she found that he was married with 2 kids (1 son 1 daughter). His name was the same. The names of the wife and kids were not ones in his everyday life. For a living he put stuff away on shelves in a store. He was happy doing that. Then she found out that his son was kidnapped and he could never find him. When he was dieing... he said it was because he smoked.... he was alone when he died. She asked where his wife was and he said outside because she was crying and sad. He told her he felt alone and sad. She asked him later if he ever remembered being in the war... he said no. He did cry a little when she was asking him questions. But she was very gentle and he was not afraid.
A lot of his behaviors now make sense to me. The woman he saw really thinks he came into this world feeling as a failure.
How can I help him now, I don't even know where to start?
Any help or suggestions would be VERY appreciated.
