A few Past Life Questions...

I absolutely believe in past lives/reincarnation, however a few aspects of PL have left me stumped...

1)There are notably more people on Earth today, than there ever was, so where are all the past lives coming from? Assuming that from the original humans, human past lives begun and kept going, one is left to assume that there a new spirits, which are then reincarnated?

2)Where did humans lives begin, did they evolve from our ancestors e.g. "monkeys" and because we've evolved so much we can no longer share past lives with animals?

3)Can we share past lives with animals?

4)Is there a limit to reincarnation, where you no longer reincarnate?

5)This kind of scared me, if you take everything they said about "why memories are wrong" in, because ultimately aren't past life's, memories we have of our life previous and wouldn't what they said alter such things?

Some claim to reincarnate from other species(excuse my french) ,I have a friend who is having his first life, etc. I've been also hearing theories about souls going into more than one bodies.

This seems to be the #1 argument by skeptics. Dr. Helen Wambach was one of the early researchers on past lives in the 1970's. She said the answer is simple. People did not live very long back then. 50% of babies born died before age 5. Adult life expectancy in developed countries was only 50 or 60 in the year 1900. In Roman times it was only about 30 or 40. This meant there were always souls waiting for new bodies.

We don't know what the soul is made of, who is to say that humans only have a "human" soul? If we think of the materials animals are made of, they are pretty much the same. Same proteins, same carbohydrates, same lipids, same nucleotides, the only difference is how they are arranged. Therefore, why couldn't it be the same with souls? If matter can re-arrange, I don't see why souls can't. Maybe the soul of humans today some time ago was in other specie and it slowly changed to mold to human needs (because interaction with the body does matter).

Can our soul be in an animal again? in theory it should be possible, but empirically it's not likely, with the proper adjustments I don't see why not.

Well nobody really knows the answer, religions say yes, I have my doubts.

I knew about that before but I don't see the problem. I don't think all the memories are stored in the brain in the first place, and even if they are and they are tainted by how we remember and how we feel, so what? the big facts are going remain unaltered. Something that they said though it's extremely interesting "If we do not recall the memory for a long time, it doesn't get altered" , therefore, Pl memories, that remain in the back room, stay unaltered because we don't access them, although they might be altered by the time we accessed them in a past life. Still, I don't lose sleep over it, nobody even knows where long term memories are stored anyways.

Ankhe,

This is a question that comes around every few years. There are a several threads buried in the depths that talk about the population of souls and reincarnation. I remember this one Where do new souls come from, I think it has a few links to other threads also.

I changed your lead word "obsoletely" to absolutely, I hope this is what you meant. ;)

Regarding your other questions, obviously there is no way to know for sure how some of the mysteries work. Evolution makes perfect sense to me, even in a biblical kinda way. Who is to say that the time frame of creation didn't allow for the vast amount of time it took for humans to go from tadpole to h0mo-sapiens? Our construct of time is pretty narrow minded when it comes to the vast cosmos and creation. I could even take the idea of "cast from the Garden of Eden" into what one of my college philosophers said was the moment in evolution when consciousness "awoke." A very interesting perspective!

As far as animal past lives... well our forum does not go there. We have had to "put it outside," as these discussions tend to get carried away. Plus, it is quite simply apart of the owners guidelines. You should be able to find other forums that will welcome that question.

Have a good day,

Tman
