Here’s an exercise for you. Years ago there was a kids’ magazine called “Dynamite”. One month it showcased King Tut. After an article talking about his tomb and everything that was found therein, there was a piece that challenged the reader to think about what his or her own tomb would look like if such things were done today. So...
The lid of your sarcophagus should reflect your station in life and include some accessories you would typically carry.
Around you should be things you really liked in life and that you wanted to take with you to the afterlife.
Also in the tomb should be companions that you can’t bear to be without. For the sake of respect for life, you can take representations instead of the actual companion.
What’s in your tomb?
(As a bonus, does any of it reflect a past life?)
My lid would have me in T-shirt and blue jeans and a battered pair of sneakers, holding a laptop and an mp3 player.
Stuff I’d take would include a hot rod, a luxury car, a coffee pot (with coffee!), a jukebox loaded with oldies and early 80’s rock, my easy chair, a really comfy bed, my leather jacket, a deck of playing cards and some dice, and my library.
Companions would be my husband (in effigy!), my cats (and a few others from the neighborhood), a dragon, and a wolf. (Of course, the wolf and the dragon wouldn’t eat the cats!)
Still thinking about how this relates to past lives, but I think my love for cars might come from my time as a chariot racer, at least in part.
